So naturally I have spent a couple of days dl and tried out all the "new" AAA releases thats out. Just to see how they perform with the M4. It's a pretty sad story really. The only game that I have come across so far that lets you go crazy with the performance is Genshin Impact. Its a buttery smooth experiance, extreamly playable, with all the bells and whistles maxed out. (sadly it doesnt find my controller but thats another thing), but for the rest of the games like RE, AC, DS and so on, they just dont take advantage of the crazy chip that is the M4. Im locked in to 30fps or in som case 60fps. To me 30fps is not playable, like not at all. I just cant stand that stuttery choppy feeling when I play games no matter how good the graphics are. It NEED to go to 60 at least or thereabout. Just a fair warning to all that thinking of upgrade right now. You may buy the fastest tablet on the planet, but most (AAA) games on iOS is till unplayable because you are locked in to 30fps. tinkie277 Well-Known Member Jul 11, 2013 136 51 28 Male Street Cleaner Scunthorpe, United Kingdom #9 tinkie277, Jun 6, 2024 Absolute must buy! What I’ve found is that as new processors come on line, AAA publishers update their games to play at higher frame rates. naghihimutuc, elcrazy and sebgo like this. rag66628 Member Apr 26, 2016 7 4 3 #11 rag66628, Jun 6, 2024 Was able to run re4 remake in 60 fps (mostly)on my 11” pro m1 following a tutorial on yt. I cant stand it tho. That is a hard pass for me. I really hoped for more support, at least for the major console type titles. Im not saying every title has to support 120fps since that is kinda nieche (spelling?) to the ipads but 60 fps as a option, at least. That should be bare minimum as of today. What do people game on in todays PCs. 250fps? 300? All that fancy graphic dont mean jack, if the game chops and stutter like there is no tomorrow. That just take all the fun out of the experiance. Like this title does as a example. Im sure its a great game but I will have to come back to it sometime in the future. If Ubisoft even bother with adding a 60 or 120fps option. We already know that Capcom is notoriously bad with updating their titles, so I wouldnt get my hopes up for the REs. Just my input. I realise i come across as a bit negative. Didnt mean to rain on anyones parade. I thought parhaps more people had issues with 30fps gaming. Perhaps its only me. edit: Feral has done something to at least try and mitigate the problem. In Xcom, Alien:I and one more of their titles they let you choose from three modes. Graphics, Battery saver and Performance. First when I fiddled around with that it made no sense to me. But after I read up a bit on it it turnes out that if you think the ”best” option (graphics) is to sluggish, then you can select performance. The drawback is that you loose some of the visuals but the games becomes much snappier and the fps gets like dubbled. it’s still a shame that you should have to do this when you are on the latest hardware and its entirely the games themself that just cant take advantage of it, but at least Feral tried to give us more options without having to officially support high framerates from the very launch. I wish more developer take a hint from this way of doing it. (My spelling is horrible, I know. Torrente Well-Known Member Jun 6, 2024 99 27 18 #19 Torrente, Jun 6, 2024 I come from the M1 and this one is better in every way. Not only the chip but the screen is freaking amazing. When you have them side by side you can really see the difference. This has nicer blacks and is much more contrasty and deep. however, if you are on a budget there is no shame in holding off for a while. The M1 is still a great performer, and Im a little dissapointed that I cant take advantage of the raw power of the M4 as of now. We have to wait for the developers to get with the program and update their apps first, and god know how long that could take. Its the downside with early adoption I guess. But yeah, its great. Its thinner, lighter, faster and has a killer display. So you wont be dissapointed when you go for it I can say that. squarezero likes this.
