Ah crap. I'll see if I get any reply to the email I sent in a few days. If not, screw it...I'll use the mail app.
Have you opened the pop up menu and set it to Initiate? Only the Initiate contract missions or higher have hero token rewards.
Ho ok ! Didnt notice that one. Thank you so much. This iniate menu is open and Free without purchase ?
The Contract level menu opens when you buy the heroic level 1 in the heroic shop after you beat the campaign. You could also buy hero points with IAP before completing the campaign, but it's just 10 missions, you can make it in a short time and unlock heroic content for free.
Got a response back. The bad news (and this is a very important thing to take into consideration) is that your profile name (that you're asked to create upon first time playing) is permanent and cannot be changed no matter what. No deleting and reinstalling, no iCloud settings, nothing can fix that. The team said there are no current plans to implement a name changing feature, but it could come. Maybe.
Great discussion on Assassin's Creed. Helped remind me about the fun I first had with AC Pirates when I bought it for $7 or $8. I definitely got that much fun out of it before it went free to play. And if they have to charge $5 for the new one before they turn it back to free to play, then maybe our $5 here and there will help keep it being update for years just like Pirates. Sure, I dislike the current state of pricing and mechanics, but you guys make good points. I've already got $5 out of the new AC. I imagine they didn't see good enough IAP sales in soft launch and just need a bigger steady influx of cash upfront. Otherwise, it would've made more sense to keep it free to play. Personally, $5 isn't much and since I can afford it, I guess I'd rather see this one survive for years to come. Hope we see more missions and stories down the road.
Spoiler You have to identify the guy that the messenger meets at the start of the mission. Here's a screenshot, if it helps - http://www.candykiller.com/temp/acmessenger.jpg
I've just unlocked the top ranking Master contracts, and I think it would be fair to say that it's quite a challenge at this point. Nine enemies at once and it only takes two or three strikes from any one of them to defeat me. I think I may have to go back to playing the Veteran contracts a little while longer. :/
There isnt a lot of depth to the actual fighting mechanics apart from getting the timing right. Winning or losing in combat is more down to your gear, stats and skills.
Hahaha, damn, that looks fun! You're quite far ahead of me, my most advanced char is level 21, but I've been leveling some of my other assassins as well. Which is actually a pretty cool endeavor, just taking a level one char on some veteran missions and watching his levels soar through the roof I thought there'd be some more theory-crafting around here, I'm curious to know which classes and skills y'all choosing. I started with a shadowblade/trickster, then a thief, and now a trickster/shadowblade with a different set of skills. This last one is starting to get good, I'm focusing on skills like disguise and throw coins, plus the incognito and notoriety passives. Makes it much easier to complete certain challenges like staying anonymous, or not engaging in combat. Still haven't played with the berserker yet, but shadowblade/trickster is certainly a quite powerful combination for stealth lovers, with a lot of skills to misdirect attention and avoid or break combat. I'm still unsure about the thief though, has anyone managed to put his pickpocket skill to any good use? All I can manage is to steal like 30 coins at a time, which is a bit ridiculous. He has a lot of other cools skills, of course, but I was wishing for some pickpocket goodness. Last one, has anyone had the courage to put three outfits into the forge yet? Wonder how that works out. I haven't tried it yet 'cause I'm afraid they'll just turn into an ordinary item, haha.
I think Im going to concentrate on levelling my main guy up fully, then Ill start creating new assassins with different classes. Hes a Berserker/Thief, level 25, and I believe one of the devs said that 30 is the level cap. I agree with you about the thief - I dont use any of those skills very much. I don't think I'll chance putting 3 outfits into the forge. There's no blueprint for outfits, so who knows what would come out the other end.
Yeah, level 30 would make sense as that's when you receive your last class outfit, according to the achievements. And yeah, you're probably right, it wouldn't be wise to try and forge outfits. Still, I'm tempted to buy three of them just to try this out, but since they're so expensive I guess I'll just have to wait for the time being
