Finished the 10 campaign missions. The story is told via the loading screens and each mission has a full recollection in the codex. So after you finish a mission in the Murder of Crows, you will get a codex entry. Thought it's a lot of text the story is actually quite enjoyable.
Figured I'd add my two cents to the situation: I absolutely love supporting premium games. I've bought games I never really got around to playing because I like the effort, model, and developers. I've bought the same game on iOS AND Android partially to have the flexibility, but mainly to give Kudos for their efforts and hard work. I put money into free to play games that I love (usually not freemium ones, but free-to-download ones.) However I'm kinda putting my foot down on this whole "always online" thing for single-player experiences. I LOVE Assassin's Creed and support Ubisoft a ton; I've enjoyed all the mobile games they've released and haven't been mad about the ones they've pulled, I get it, it's a shame. But I just don't feel like putting money into a game I know I won't be able to play often because of the required connection. That combined with the lack of a real narrative just makes me want to stick to any of the other greats that are already out (Basion, Wayward Souls, Implosion, KotOR, GoF, you get it) and when I DO have a wifi connection, I'll likely be sticking to larger games that actually need it (O&C2, DH5, etc.) Final note: I never really complain about this in general; when PC or console games require it, that's completely fine with me, because I DO have a stable access to internet that won't charge me if I go over usage at home. Just figured I'd toss in my personal issue with it. =]
I dont know if devs read this, I doubdt they do, but in case they are, please fix the right side touch control (the one moving the camera). It should ONLY move the camera. There are lots of missions where you have to locate things with eagle eye, or keep the target in line of sight, while moving on the roofs. A lot of times, for some reason, the right side camera control makes my character move. This is borderline frustrating, because you either fall from the roof or end up exposing yourself. Also, please make tap on terrain movement optional, so we can disable it. This is such a great game, but this two touch screen control related bugs make the overall experiance pretty frustrating.
Paid single player, online only game? Dang.. Yeah sorry, I can't support that at all even if it is Assassin's Creed. Fyi even big devs end up shutting down their servers at some point. Online only games only live as long as the company wants it to instead of as long as you have a device to play it on (like it should).
Yes there is a story, if you don't mind reading through the codex. Not my thing personally, I'd rather have the story told within the actual gameplay, but to everyone their own.
Looks great but then again so did the Assassins Creed CCG they put out that was ALSO online only, premium price and IAP. Once they'd made their money they shut down their servers and removed the game. My fear is they'll do the same again here which is why I'm reluctant to pay for a single player online-only game that has IAP. I don't want to get burnt twice by the Ubisoft money making machine. So to those who've played this, are you spending on IAP at all? Can the game be properly enjoyed entirely without IAP? If so I will give it a go because the entry price would therefore be ok and a manageable loss if they shut their servers. Heavy IAP though, they've stung me once already, really badly. Never again. I deliberately haven't unlocked the parkour missions because I had a feeling they would be tough to win. I think I'll just leave that one locked for a while until I hear some more impressions of how others are finding them.
Right after you identify the messager, instead of taking off to create a distraction, see where he goes to first. So far, I've had no need whatsoever to buy IAPs. I actually wanted to, because I felt 5$ for this game was not enough, but I hate buying virtual currencies, all they'll do is shorten the life-span of the game. Anyway, don't worry, in the beggining it seems a bit scary, because everything costs coins and the rewards you get from the first missions are pretty small, but that'll change as soon as you start unlocking your hero shop.
This game truly shows how far mobile gaming has evolved. The graphics are incomparable on the gaming platform and even though i hate the idea that it's a 'online connection only' game, i still think it's worth the buy because of the intriguing storyline. Really, i can safely say this is the first and, i hope not the last, dedicated assassin's creed game on mobile.
Am i the only one who gets synchronization errors after the end of any mission (side or main)? all day yesterday and today.... Till campaign mission no5 everything went fine but last couple days no way to finish and synchronize a mission (win it or lose it).
This! The controls are frustrating. Did anyone dual class their character? Is it worth it or is it better to concentrate on one class only?
I've used 108mb since downloading and ive played an average of 1-2 hours a day. So that's 108 mb in two days.
