To be honest, that looks... boring. At least I hope the iPhone one looks prettier. Then is might turn from a no after watching that video to a maybe. But if it's shallow gameplay, nope.
You're right the gameplay video doesn't look too great. But hopefully its better when you're actually controlling it yourself.
What was so bad about the first game? It was fun, it was challenging, it was entertaining, it was brilliant. I'd much prefer to have a dumbed down version of AC: Bloodlines than this slightly-improved casual DS game.
What was wrong with the first one? It wasn't challenging, it spelled out the simplest puzzles for you (HMM, I CAN HIT THIS BUTTON TO OPEN A DOOR LOLOL), the dialogue was stupid (Not high expectations from Gameloft, the combat was ridiculously easy and boring, the platforming was decent, and the voice acting was awful. I'd rather have AC bloodlines too, but oh well.
lol... I must agree with Bat. The first AC was not so spectacular for the reasons he mentioned, but the platforming parts were pretty fun (my kind of game) so thats why I like it very much
The only think I disliked about the first AC was that there simply wasn't enough weapons/combos. It was fun but damn using the same sword and 3 combos got boring.
I was thinking, would this ruin the story if you beat it before you played the console versions? I definitely don't wanna ruin it. I played the first assassins creed on my cell phone as some java game, and got the huge twist spoiler from Gameloft style story writing, so it ruined the surprise >=(
That DS version doesn't look bad.If the iphone version is as good or better i will prolly get it even if it's short on content.

according to their twitter news: Assassin's Creed II is now officially out in Europe (tomorrow in the UK). Get your copy now! so the iphone console version should be released tomorrow

Dang, no AC2. If it's not out I guess I'll spend the money on Ravensword, or Mecho Wars. The gameplay videos looks so awesome on nintendo ds IGN videos
