That's because the Ferrari knocked you out when the race started. Look ahead. Seriously though, I was thinking about tracks like The Alps and Nevada. Basically, tracks where you spend a lot of time being airborne and then re-accelerating, depending on which route you prefer. Judging from multiplayer matches I've participated in with either of those cars, a maxed-out FXX is a real threat to a maxed-out Agera in those races. (Career mode doesn't count; winning against an AI driver when you're in equal cars isn't much of a challenge.) Yeah. Most likely, it will be an ongoing race between your developers and the hackers. Still, I'm crossing my fingers that you'll find a way to improve the situation before all the honest players give up and leave for good.
Gameloft Ryan, Ios 7.0.2 fixed alot of ios 7 graphic games issues on my ipad 3, just fyi. Haven't had a chance to reinstall a8 yet, but ios 7 seems to have some new gaming power in it, and with the new a7 processor, can't wait to see what an ipad 5 can do with this already wonderful game.
Hey Ryan, I have noticed worse performance after updating to iOS 7 on the 4S. Is there going to be an update to fix it? I'm getting framrates close to 5-15 FPS while playing the game where I would otherwise get 30+ on iOS 6.
Would love a new track to be added over new cars but I know thats probably too much to ask... Still loving the game although i haven't managed to play past season 5, having too much fun on multiplayer HOWEVER what is it with online players selecting Nevada and the Iceland all the time!
Yeah, but when you're racing on the same track x3 in a row, its get a little tiresome. My fave tracks are: London, Tokyo and Alps. I wish we had options to do the reverse tracks in multiplayer < take note Gameloft Ryan
I couldn't come up with a good race pun so I'm stuck with: Yes it'll always be a race and we want our players to stick around for as long as possible! It's something we've been seeing across some of our games and we are looking for a solution. From what I've heard from one of our developers is that iOS 7 uses a lot more memory than iOS 6 so it affects how well games run. Between Apple updates and our own updates we hope to get performance back to where it was I've taken note Someone mentioned this exact sentiment a few hundred posts back. Hopefully the Devs will consider it! I don't know the final list of things that'll be included in the next update for A8 at the moment but once I do I can continue to recommend things if this doesn't make the cut.
Hehe. Well, I hope my ever-growing list gives you a nitro boost in that race! A lot of those names are the same names that have been reported on Gameloft's own forums, by the way. And I think mict's estimation that "at least 7 of the top 10 players" use an infinite nitro hack is overly conservative. My guess is that it's at least 9 out of 10.
Yeah, that is probably true. Tokyo is cool, actually all the tracks are cool in different ways. Reverse tracks in mp would be awesome, if possible.
What an incredible game. Seems to have a few nods to great racers of old. Driving under the trucks in French Guinea brought a smile to my face, reminded me of Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge 2. And the Nevada course could be from Flat Out 2. Minor, but irritating gripe: there badly needs to be a "race again" button when you complete a race. Just unlocked Season 8 after 23 hours of play! Been a while since I got this engrossed in a game. I bought the car packs for level D and C. Has anyone managed to get through to Season 8 without any IAP? Season 8 is a strange one. It opens with fairly easy races using D and C level cars, at their base specs, no upgrades required as in previous seasons. I guess this allows you to get some easy 4 or 5 star wins, 10,000 credits each. Maybe its meant to be a reward for getting that far? As others have pointed out though, the last half of Season 8 would need some major grinding, as each event is 50 stars more than the last. Not sure I can be bothered with that....
I'm on season 6 still, with no IAPs. Grinding a lot to get 400 stars for season 7. Managed to get a zonda for my A races, Italia for my B races and the veneno for S. doing alright I just noticed today that the seasons are named after all the previous asphalt games. Does it mean that season 8(airborne) will include a lot more ramps or something? That would be sweet
No. The ramps on each track are the same throughout all seasons. What it means is that you'll have to do a lot more barrel rolls and flat spins to get your five stars.
Ryan, I'll stop updating my list. More than half of the S class cars in multiplayer are cheaters now, but if you're in a car that's supposed to be faster and ends up at roughly the same speed, it's tricky to pinpoint them as cheaters without doubt. Multiplayer has turned into a cheating contest, with Gameloft's implicit blessing. This isn't about a few bad apples. A lot of these guys now somehow speed up by crashing, because infinite nitro isn't enough to beat their fellow cheaters anymore. Yes, fixing stuff like this takes time, but the cheats have been out for weeks, some of the cheaters have been pointed out by lots of different gamers, and you guys have done nothing at all.
Running Bird is right Gameloft_Ryan What do you guys waiting for? Asphalt 8 Multiplayer was ruined by the hackers with a lot of tricks and cheats... Please Do something for... us!
They are not doing noting at all about it. Its unfortunate that these things happen but it is also a case that there is no instafix to these things as there is possibly a range of exploits that people are using so identifying each exploit and rebuilding the program to block each individual exploit is actually quite a big and time consuming task. Which also requires that they identify and block the full range of exploits before rebuilding around them, submitting an update to Apple, getting approved and then released. That's not a procedure that can be done separately for each exploit, it would take even longer. So take it that they are working on it, covering as many of the exploits as they are aware of before releasing an update that those bloody cheaters would exploit again. Plus they have to make those fixes work on the server side as well. Take it as they are making sure an update to fix this doesn't break the game as well. I hate them cheaters myself (quite a lot) but I know the developers hate them as well and are fixing it. It just is a very time consuming task that needs to be done right so that the exploits don't reoccur.
OK, let's rephrase: not enough. You make some very good points, Rip73. I happen to be a developer myself, and I have my share of experience with both hackers/crackers and the app store. Just like you, I feel Gameloft's pain. I guess it's a matter of taste to some extent, but I believe that in this case, keeping up the pressure would be better than waiting for the day when you'll have fixes for all vulnerabilities if that's really what Gameloft is doing. And as mentioned earlier in this thread, I don't think there will ever be such a day, as long as software is involved. Gameloft does ban users regularly. From what I've read in various forums (mostly cheaters talking about how to get Gameloft to lift the ban), most of the users that get banned catch Gameloft's eye via irregular in-app currency fluctuations. So they are monitoring what's going on with their users' accounts. And yet, they can't even detect level 99 accounts?
I get ya and that's very fair points. I've a fairly strong understanding of the problems cheaters/hackers/crackers cause and some of the issues involved in fixes (not from actually programming myself, I leave that to those that know better) and they annoy me greatly as well so I understand that they take a lot of time to get right (and ultimately there is no fix all fix) but I do understand as well you're point about keeping up the pressure to get fixes out. So fair enough, you make very good points. I do know that Gameloft is equally as annoyed as the rest of us as they are very proud of A8 and hate to see this happen to a game they put a lot of thought and effort in to so I'm pretty confident steps are afoot. We would all of course like them quicker and I absolutely agree with you that these cheaters should be pointed out. Thanks.
I've passed the information along to the appropriate people to reinforce the community's concerns about the exploits. As others have stated before, we have been banning people regularly and will continue to monitor the situation. However, an update is required to improve the multiplayer hacks so I imagine what's going on is the Dev team is knocking out as many things as they can to improve the scene. It's good to continue to get feedback because this is the information I can pass along to show there is a need for a fix. Community interaction is a huge part of getting issues fixed, so I do appreciate the comments I promise I'm doing all I can to get your voices to the Devs!
Gave the game another go, I have to say I was wrong. This game is fun and worth my time. I tried buying the right cars and I'm now progressing through the game.
