If you had to choose one, RR3 or Asphalt 8? Or is it a pure case of Apples and Oranges. I'll be getting this game after work.
The iTunes link to the US version better be posted the second it's available. I can usually find the app through the link before I can find it through search.
Just cleared a 1.6GB of space, had to delete some favorites like Breach and Clear, Penumbear, Repulze so I hope this is decent on iPhone 4. Asphalt 7 and N4S Most Wanted ran pretty smoothly on my phone though But I've been burned before. Remember that game Real Boxing? Said it was supported on iPhone 4 but performance was horrible.
A quick way to find this is go to any GL game and tap games by same developer. A8 should be the last one 30 minutes to go.
This game will surpass all other racing games on iOS You cannot pass it up. Plus there's multiplayer. Just get them both. I'm keeping RR3 and NFSMW. (and basically every other racing game that's on my device, which is a lot... except A7 because it sucks... but whatever)
I understand about google play and gamecenter but does gameloft live have anything to do with it. If I log into gameloft live on both devices shouldn't that be enough to keep me in the same game? If not then I don't understand what gameloft lives purpose is
This might be the first iOS game in a long time that has caught my attention ever since Real Racing 3 came out (which I am playing to this day ever since the NZ soft launch, with zero attention to anything else.)
Its apples and oranges Johnny. This one is very arcade but realistic "ish" if you know what I mean. Great physics and control but very dramatic and over the top to go with it. I'm very confident that you'll enjoy it a lot. Its easily one of the best games available right now. I'll still be keeping RR3 as I'm one of the few who has no problem with it. But I'll be hammering away at this, A8, for a long time to come also.
Gameloft Live and its servers are for the multiplayer element of any of their games, not for the cloud save element. Two different systems and purposes. Live deals with the multiplayer but its not cross platform either. That would be very complex and expensive to instigate. Now that's a big cut of some quality stuff. A8 will be worth it though, it'll be a long term keeper. That 1.6gb of space will be enough to install it from iTunes through your computer to device. So download it onto you're computer first and install through iTunes. I'm only saying in case you missed some of the earlier posts about space needed to install. Note if you're installing through App Store on your device, you'll need roughly 900mb more free space for the download file (which does get deleted after install finishes). If you install from computer to device, you shouldn't need any more space though.
Hey man sorry I missed this. It's been a pretty busy day for me but to answer your question; no, Asphalt 8 doesn't have cross-platform save functions. You won't be able to play on an iOS device and then load that progress on an Android device. Hope that clears everything up and sorry again! EDIT: Just saw the Gameloft Live bit as well: That only applies to loading friends and Gameloft Live related info onto new devices for your specific OS as well as multiplayer things like Rip73 mentioned. It won't apply to save states on separate devices.
Thanks for the answer, still getting this twice if I can - one for the larger iPad Screen and one for physical controls (oh please let the Shield be supported!)
I just loaded this onto my old touch 4 to compare with newer devices, horrible horrible frame rate, bordering on unplayable, lots of dropped frames, Nfsmw was way better on iPod than this
