Good job winnig the p4! I have got mine to pro too, but has depleted nearly all of my tokens buying it. The car is very unstable for me though. It does front flips and multiple barrels of straight ramps all the time, goes airborne at the slightest of bumps. How does it feel on your device? The update has made the game almost unplayable on my phone due to severe lags. I only have time to have a couple of tries at the end of the day, and now I'm struggling to get a clean lap most of the time. Any one else experiencing major lags in Windows phone after the update? I have got my f50 to 5,3,5,3. Yet to decide whether to pro it fully or save the cards.
Oh yeah the update definitely changed things. My Surface Pro heats up much faster and hotter than before. I'm -guessing- that it's because an extra layer is being rendered on every car to support the decals. It's totally unplayable on my old Android tablet now which is why I switched. The p4 is definitely a little tricky. It gets squirrelly on me for elevation changes especially, and I'm struggling to edge in to the top 25 on the Guyana cup (mid 30s right now) because of the criss-crosses. There's also one spot on Venice where you can oversteer and 'break' the steering like a Biome. I've been running it a fair bit in straight multiplayer to get the feel of it.
Yeah, I'm estel 81. So that's why you're using the 308 GTS. Anyway, I'm still trying to get a better time single tanked.
You're lucky you have a powerful device.Thing is, I have two devices, and now the one with half gig of ram is the one which I can even tolerate playing in as it doesn't render the decals in detail. On the other one with double the ram, which was my main device, the game feels like a slideshow now;totally unplayable. After making us wait over a month for the update,I never thought the game would be so poorly optimised, especially for a platform with no graphics settings.
The decals are so ugly I never use them. I guess the rule of thumb for GL games is to never update unless it has a major content update, otherwise it's a complete waste of space.
Maxed out the P1 and got a low 1.03 in ft guinnea reverse singe tanked. Try for 1.02 rank 1327 (phew). Then I could buy a 950 token box and get up to 4/4(2)/4/4 tuatara perhaps The mustang got 1.15 in Nevada nothing special iPad mini 2 and iPhone 5s sync well but sometimes the daily thing will go back to 20% (no big deal, because token boxes work fine)
I wouldn't say all of them are bad. I like some of them, but the interesting ones for me were token-purchases so I didn't buy them. You can get 1:01:xxx with a MAX PRO P1 single tanked. Still kind of useless in these cups now considering 330 P4 can be 2 seconds faster. Hopefully ASAP, I want something modern to replace the 330 P4. A classic should be a collector's item rather than a dominating machine that makes modern super cars obsolete (the irony).
Another week and again we go with two cups for owners of heavily PROed Enzos and 330 P4. It is getting even more ridiculous than half a year ago, when every second race was for Biome or K1. 95 cars in the game, yet even with the class limited cups (rookie, hotshot etc) we have TLEs for max 10-15 cars and the winning car is always known in advance. Why are there no single car TLEs? Why are there no TLEs limited to a certain, narrow rank range e.g. 1300-1330 or 1500-1520? This would be much more interesting, with non-maxed, non-proed cars from higher classes competing with upgraded ones from lover classes. Where are the multiplayer TLEs for non-grinders?
^^Ditto. I couldn't win much (at least I got something, I guess) lately because of how the events are. Last month, I earned 1800+ tokens alone from the new car events (those Ferrari Cups). This is due to every single car being the same rank. It was much easier to win when it becomes much fairer for the players. At least everyone can get an equal opportunity. I still remember how I waste all those ET in those events, despite not needing to do so just to earn 200+ tokens each time. Right now? I can't get into the Top EVEN with ET. I don't have the right cars for it. I go to the Asphalt community a lot, and it can be very disheartening to see everyone other than you driving a Max/Pro 330 P4 or near Pro Enzo, near Pro K1. While I lag behind in every event, all I see is people triumphing over winning events because their cars are just much better than anyone else. People talk about how it sucks to get 4 Mid Techs only out of 14-20+ Tech boxes, while I get nothing more than 4-8 Tech boxes with 1-2 Mid Techs from those events. Sigh...
Yup. I opened a champion box the other day and all I got was an orange V8 a mid tech or two and one suspension s... I need 7 more (and a slew of v8 and advanced tech). My tuatara is 1703 and I still can't get better than top 1000 or so. Tokyo reverse 1.39.941. I never use extra tanks either because 200 tokens isn't even a reward
Fabien I have a problem with some of my cars, especially with my Koenigsegg One:1.Every time I try to brake before a sharp turn it simply doesn´t work and I crash or just lose plenty of time.and after my drift the nitro boost mostly only works when I press twice.Really,I paid so much credits for it,put so much effort and cards in it and this is what I get??? This bug/problem also appears at other cars I applied some pro cards, for example my Ferrari LaFerrari. Please forward this problem to the developers because it is not much fun playing with these bugs. Another thing:can you please reduce the rank of the Ferrari P4 by 30 points? It would still be the highest-rank A class car and there would be enough space for future A class kings. Also think about the fake top speed of it again. It is ridiculous that a car from the 1960s easily defeats my hyper modern K1 When does the next update arrive roughly?Mid june, july? Thank you very much in advance
A lot of it is resource management. Don't get me wrong... the system is messed up. After watching how the Winter Update went down, I changed my habits a bit: 1) be prepared to focus the hardest on the new token cars, as they'll be used a -lot- in Cups I didn't get the VMAX, and had to sit there and watch my K1 get destroyed week after week. The upside was, I quit spending cards on my K1. It also showed us all that GL isn't going to change their habits, so I had to change mine. If they were going to focus on token cars, so was I. So I hit that 330 p4 cup hard. I pretty much blew off the other cups (although surprisingly won the p40) because I was confident that my PRO Biome would still be competitive -AND- that I would need to focus my V12 cards on one car (which I pre-chose to be the 330 p4). 2) Hoard tech cards & No incremental upgrades Sure, engine cards will eventually be a bottleneck, but no more than A-Techs. Mid-techs are used the most. So I hoard 'em and I wont spend them unless: a) I'm 1/8-1/4 sec away from the next winning tier in a cup AND the prize is worth it; b) I've got 6-8 and can make a significant upgrade to a car. When I won the 330 p4, I was sitting on 8 Mid-tech, 9 A-Tech, and 9 V12 cards, because I refused to spend them on all the 599x crap cups. The result? My 330 p4 was MAX PRO as soon as I got it. GL is baiting you to spend cards on middling cars. Don't do it. 3) Buy card boxes Non PRO cars aren't competitive. Bottom line. Saving tokens for cars is a long term losing strategy. The tokens you spend on card boxes will have a lower TCO because of winnings they enable versus sitting in the bank doing nothing. You need PRO cars to win > You need cards to PRO cars. Buy the Champion boxes. 4) Fall 1 car behind, but not 2 I focused on the P1, skipped the Rivale, then focused on the 330. Same with S-Class: K1, skip VMAX, and am saving up for Enzo. With B Class, I've got the Biome, and am skipping the F50. The #2 car will probably let you squeak into the top 100, but the #3 car won't. By skipping cars, you get off of the hamster wheel of trying to stay current. Since the Winter Update, I try to keep 8 of any given card, aside from Mid-Tech, A-Tech, and Legendary Engines. Anything over 8, I'll use. If I have 8 or less, refer to #2 Incremental Upgrades. I started fresh on Windows with the Winter update, and currently have a PRO CB7, Biome, P1, P4, and all D-Class. I have a semi-competitive (top 100) 2-2-4-2 K1, and the rest of all of my cars are PRO 1 or 2 levels. The only exceptions are oddball cars that have been used in Tech Card cups. I hit those hard. When I 'flush' cards (#3 Hoarding) to make room, I go straight across the board: PRO level 1 for one car, then the next car, and so on. Ditto for level 2 and any other level that doesn't require Mid-Tech. This strategy has let me slowly raise most of my cars to 2-2-2-2, which means that at any given time (especially oddball car cups) if I can, I can hit it with another upgrade to jump a winning tier. This strategy lets me focus on the cars GL focuses on, prepares me for oddball cups, and sets me expectation level appropriately. I don't kneejerk to whatever cup they run. If it's a weird cup, I know I'll place in the top 500. Maybe better. But I'm ready for the majority of the cups. Anyway, like I said, I started completely fresh at the beginning of the year, so it's not like I had all kinds of ups banked -- so I think it's a solid strategy to be competitive most of the time. Don't let kneejerk reactions dictate your spending habits. Treat your cards as a commodity and maximize your winning and minimize your losing. This isn't going to help you now... but it might get you ready for the next update/new batch of cars
GL wants that you buy cards for tokens and tokens for money to make to positions. That's the system. Anyhow, I am quite happy with my 1717 K1, was 104 (ok 0.1s faster would have made me happier) in we Iceland cup and now I am 85 in Tokyo cup after first run (focused on Monaco today). So even with non heavy pro cars one can compete with TOP 100. There are not so many with completly pro S class cars. All class or A class is harder now since the P4 rules over all other A cars and mid pro TOP S class and is compared to S class easy to pro. So you have it and make TOP 100 or not and this is . Maybe with next update a new A class king for credits will come. GL is making it roughly alternating: K1 (credits) - 9FF (tokens) - Enzo (credits); Savage/P1 (credits) - P4 (tokens); Biome (credits) - Hussayra (tokens) - F50 (credits)
Thanks for good advices, grey_goose and Zeremoniar. With all due respect to your achievements, the number of players on Windows is limited in comparison to iOS (I remember that some months ago the count showed around 50k players for Windows vs over 2 million players for iOS for the average TLE event), so it is also less difficult to get into the top tiers in the Windows events. For example, in the average iOS event a difference of 0.1 sec around tier 3-4 awards(positions 1000-2000) will often see you 100 or more positions up the ranking. My point is, your strategies work fine for Windows, but would not be necessarily as successful for iOS. It would be interesting to see a comparison of times between different platforms in the same event that let you qualify for the rewards in different tiers: times and car ranks necessary to qualify in the top 100/500/1000/2000/5000 players.
I played on Android for a long bit before the Winter Update made A8 unplayable on my Samsung tablet -- so I'm very familiar with the differences. You do have a point, but at the end of the day a larger pool just means, what? That my references to winning tiers should be shifted down by one? Or two? It's still about being as competitive as possible in the most events by using your commodity (cards) as effectively as possible. My thoughts weren't on "How To Be Number One", they were on "How To Claim As Many Prizes As Possible". No bigs if you disagree, if you've got a better strategy for leveraging cards into maximum winnings, I'd love to hear/try it.
Using the tuatara in multiplayer on iOS has been pretty satisfying past the 1700 mark. Now I can take down pro max rivale and lesser P4 and K1,and I got a 9 streak freebie nitro with ease. A 9FF was able to beat me off the line but I think he could have been promax. Down to 1.39.636 rank 744. With the fxx 1648 I get 1.25.136 which is only enough for top 2000 tech cards
Isn't a mid-upgraded FXX, especially considering the competition, such a "joy" to wheel around Monaco especially against tripled/Max/Pro Enzos and 330s? Talk about bringing a knife (rusty and broken at that) to a gunfight. Made one lap, got out. Just hope to survive and get some Tech cards. Had to burn an extra tank yesterday just to get into the top 500 in both TLEs with my 1713 and 1715 K1s (two devices). I'm not a TLE wiz, but this system is broken, yo.
