Can anyone tell me what is the estimated amount of MP matches required to reach Level 85, provided you win the majority of your matches? Multiplayer is one is the things I left untouched and it would be better if I can set a goal so that I won't be aimlessly playing MP matches. Currently, I don't enjoy it so that's why I would prefer having a goal to set up. It would be great if anyone can help me out~

It was a lot. At least several hundred for me. So maybe like 500-600 if you consistently finish first? Maybe more. I've played 2000 MP races in total and won half of them.

I had been playing since a8 went free. Nov 2013 I think.

I joined here April 2014 and by June 2014 I was level 58. Can't find what day I finally hit 85 though.

Good luck with it, but, sorry, no idea. It was a long time ago and to be honest, I never kept track of it. I'm just surprised you don't enjoy MP. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised, but I don't see any other reason to play A8 if not for MP. It's a hoot. The TLEs are OK and all, but not too great with the fuel bar deal — three runs an hour. So when you play A8, if I may inquire, what do you usually spend your time doing? What do you like about it?

I can be more precise as I am currently at level 82. In my case it will be about 1300 races, including about 800 victories. The other races would be mostly second, sometimes third place. Only at the very beginning, perhaps for the first 150 races, when I was still learning how to play multiplayer (and which cars to use/avoid) I was more often outside the podium. If you like to win consistently and do not limit yourself to one car, you will need to use nitro starters and tuning kits, at the very least the starters.

On the other subject: don't you think that is GL becoming more and more stingy with token awards in TLEs? It is now down to just 80 tokens for 3rd-4th tier rewards, down from 200 some weeks back or 100-150 just last week.

Actually I had the opposite idea that they were beginning to give out more tokens. If you looked at the weekend Hot Shot C-class, I got 400 (300 for top 100, 100 for top 2000). Granted getting into top 100 was very difficult, but getting into top 2000 isn't that hard. It seems that decent token rewards can be had if you tried (top 2000). But to get substantial token rewards, you would have to try really really hard (top 25/50). Obviously the ongoing World Wide event is tailored to the most skilled with the PRO cars (or if you are on iOS, likely the hackers). I don't think most players would bother trying to get top 3 podium prizes knowing that it's next to impossible, so it wouldn't matter in that case.

1st place gets 6000 tokens? Ridiculous!

Has anyone seen the upcoming apex yet? No sign of it being posted in the usual places so far.

Thanks for all the replies! I'll aim for about 1000 races for now.

Hm, I spent time farming in order to Max all the cars I have. I'm more interested in the statistical data than the game itself, so my focus has always been to cover all aspects of the game for the Wiki. I do like the game itself though, but I'm a completionist so the Pro Kit aspect is what attracts me the most. The thought of a Proing a car is just so much fun. I might enjoy MP after I finish reaching Level 85, as the goal of reaching that particular level overshadows any joy I might derive from the match itself.

My thought train is like this: Farming -> Buy and Max cars -> Input data into Wiki -> Participate in TLE -> Win Pro Kit cards/Tokens -> Pro cars -> Input data into Wiki

As you can see, I don't really play the game in order to compete or have fun with people. It has to do with my personality and how I prefer data over gaming. I mostly play strategical games, but also choose to play games like Asphalt 8 to stop my brain from overheating.

I've got my tuatara down to 1.21 in Monaco but even with an extra tank and 27 more car rank, I don't think I could beat 1.19-1.18. Still lovely car but I'm a long way from farming 7 million credits for an Enzo lol

Even the koenigsegg is getting kicked off the top 100

Not really motivated by this event. Except for the basic rewards and the 6 random cards, there's not much to win, unless you're one of the top 3.

My observation referred only to the availability of tokens below the full PRO/professional player level (so in practice much below first 100 players, rather first 1500-2500 players):)

Whether being among 2000 players is easy (on iOS) depends very much where you are in PROing your cars and how much time you can find to invest in the game and to polish your results. For start, at least during the week, I am very rarely doing more than two runs requiring fuel, which is basically six runs in most TLEs. More importantly, I face a serious shortage of initial/early techs so I am blocked when upgrading D, C ad B class cars beyond certain level. For A and S class I usually miss the necessary engines or parts, especially drivetrains. Because of that and depending on the rewards on offer, I very rarely use extra tanks (basically only when I have a realistic chance to get at least 200 tokens in return). As a result, in worldwide events I am going only for 3rd-4th tier rewards (on iOS).

The hot-shot C-class event, I must said I was pretty pissed afterwards. First I did a good run on single tank with my partially PROed car, one that would probably take me into 750 reward rank, but for some reason the result just did not save on the GL server (I got the usual message upload complete but my result was just not registered at all). Then, with much poorer result I landed on position 1970 when the race was closed, still good for 100 tokens (checked it several minutes after the closing time). However, when I claimed the rewards some 8 hours later, I did not get the tokens and the ranking showed me in position 2006:confused:. And it is not the first time when this problem is mentioned here…

That actually sounds very interesting. Not for me, but interesting. It helps to realize there's such a wide-variety of players. Because you play other games (I play none), I've got another question for you: Does it surprise you that so many people have played A8 for so long? I was under the impression that these type of "mobile" games had a relatively short shelf life.

Nope, given the model of most mobile games, it is quite expected that many people will be "addicted" to the game. TLE's and Pro Kits are the things that keep the players from leaving. A campaign mode can be revisited at any time, but not the events. People are generally attracted to competition (despite them claiming otherwise). Isn't that why you play MP as well?

Without Pro Kits and events, you are under the impression that you can always finish the game at any given time. However, with those new additions, you subconsciously feel that you are being left behind and that you have to catch up. It's something normal and happens in all games that feature this model. This is why we have time-limited items or events in MMORPGs or special incentives for pre-orders. When the variable "time" is involved, you will feel pressured to make a decision "quickly".

"If I don't win now, I will be at an disadvantage."
"If I can't get those tech cards, it'll take longer to Pro my cars."
"If I don't buy it now, the gap will keep getting bigger."
"If I don't pre-order the game, I will lose all those extras."
"If I missed this limited item, I won't be able to get it again."

See how it's always "now or never"? Between the two choices, I'm sure most people would choose "now". You either see people stick around long enough to keep playing for a few years, or people that quit after a few months/weeks.

Another thing is "progress". No one likes their "time" to be wasted after all, so people are bond by their progress as well. This is also one thing that either keeps the player or make them leave. Event rewards are the baits that push you to advance your progress. Normally, people will feel demotivated while doing a project because there is just so much left. The entire process leaves you exhausted due to how long it is. The same can be said for Asphalt 8. The grinding progress takes forever and so does the Pro Kits. Even if you fork out $1,000 dollars, there is no guarantee that you'll be able to Pro all your cars.

In order to keep a the players motivated for the game, small goals are set instead. This is also used to manage projects. By showing you the progress of the project and the small goals you need to complete, you feel more motivated to do it as it "feels" as if it takes shorter time. Instead of writing a 30 page report on your research immediately, you take the time to write each page. Wouldn't you feel more motivated to do 1 page instead of 30 page? Event rewards are the same. You'll be looking towards winning the rewards more than trying to Pro all the cars. You're "expecting" something from it. It's easier to win the rewards than to Pro all the cars right?

Also, it gives off the idea that "a little bit more won't hurt". Just like how people procrastinate and keep telling themselves that a little more rest won't take much time, this keeps the players attracted to playing the game.

"I might be able to Pro my Biome after the next event! Maybe I'll get the Electric engines I needed!"
"Oh no! I didn't manage to win any...but the next one might have some right?"

And so you'll keep playing. xD

I made two runs with a 1706 One:1, best I can manage is 1:19:262. I'm pretty sure I'll be ranked 250~ish by the end of the event, lol. Don't bother trying for this event because top 100 will be full of MAX PRO Enzo, 330 P4, 9FF, One:1.

Yea, I think someone mentioned #4 and #500 is the same. Just make a run you don't feel bad about and leave it at that.

Yea, I noticed they've recently lowered the drop rates of any tech cards even in random boxes and shifted those to tech card rewards on Monday's events. Make the most of them because those events used to only give out around 10~12 cards but now if you win all tiers you can have 26!
I had a similar problem last week in the Crackerjack cup when I made top 250 but didn't receive the tokens. I was compensated after emailing customer care twice. If you have screenshots make sure you upload them in the reply that you send to the support staff and be very clear about exactly what happened. Try to bring as much evidence to the table as possible with detailed explanations. To be on the safe side, in the future, make a screenshot of your event rankings after it closes (ranking turned gray). Hope this helps :)

This car is planned for one of Asphalt next updates.

There is no such a thing as changing division. If this player disappeared, that is due to another reason. Regarding TAS, I am looking for more details to put an end to it; if anyone knows anything, send me a PM please.

We know about this error; I am really sorry that this has happen to you. We are currently looking to fix the issue. In the meantime, please contact our customer care and send them your evidences.

I will ask the Asphalt Team about this, I doubt that they will prioritise this, so don’t get in high hopes.

Thanks for sharing this. Well I am trying to reproduce what you describe in Asphalt so that I can show it to the Asphalt Team myself. You tap to activate the Nitro, and then it stops by itself? After a long period of time?

EDIT: Which kind of controls are you using?

Don't you think that the fuel gauge that's been added a few months ago, wasn't a good move from GL ? They do make some money with that, but it's also counter productive. To keep the players addicted to the game you need to have them play regularly. However with the fuel gauge, you force them to stop and make a pause. So the players will end up playing other games or do something else, and will eventually forget about A8.

Before the fuel bar's been added I would be playing for hours on TLEs. Now I'll only spend 2 or 3 minutes on it, shut the game off, and do something else. That makes me forget about buying the daily random cards, or check if the bar's been filled up.

You need to go very fast around corners, after you left the corner to tap nitro 1 it stops so you need to tap again to get the perfect nitro, I have a few videos with this bug. Check your mail Fabien, I will also send you a message here.
By the way already waiting anxiously the Mclaren F1, hope the dev team put some good stats on it :D

May I suggest the Asphalt dev team add the Ferrari F355 Berlinetta? Its a classic that was a symbol in the 90's and uses a 3.5L V8 engine. It is also my dream car. I would love to see this as a top C class car and rank end around (final rank) 1450-1520. :)

I am 100 percent on the same page as you on this. I don't know about GL's reasoning, but I don't play nearly as much as I used to because of the fuel bar. But I take it for what it is, and instead focus a bit more on having fun in MP. It's GL's game, it can do what it wants. One problem is that we started playing the game in one iteration over a year ago and then, while still called A8, the game has changed to something very different.
