And it looks like GL execs don't care either way. I feel bad for the Devs although everyone has a family to feed after all (except the execs who make outrages money schemes to try and drain your pockets.
Ok, that's an argument. I make ~ 100 tokens / day. But even at this it will take nearly one year for me to farm enough tokens only for the 6 token cars I don't own - without spending tokens for extra tank, cards or whatever. But if they make more events, then they also have to increase prices otherwise the veterans will just get even more and the scissors between poor and rich gets larger.
Yes, you are also right. But what is the goal of the game creators?(besides filling their pockets by making you buy stuffs). Not to attract more and more players? There must be a balance between the rich and the poor. I was never a fan of games like Travian, but on that game, there were new servers every month so the new players have a chance. Of course this thing is not possible, nor wanted in Asphalt. But how can you attract new players if they didn`t stand a chance in multiplayer events? I think the solutions will be less rewards for the top players and more rewards for the weaker. Like you said, you make 100 tokens per day. Well for me it will be great if I could make 10-20 tokens per day. But in nowadays cups the top players won hundrends of tokens, and the weaker one`s zero tokens. I never play multiplayer, because there are all does player with Koenig. My best car si fully maxed out Ferrari Evoluzione, but i still don`t stand a chance. So the only reason I still play the game are those cups, but they are less and less. In this case i will soon quit playing
I agree with you, but not many people are going to bat an eye, mainly due to the fact that it's first come first serve. Unfortunately, competitive systems like this one will always favor the people who got there first. It's the same in real life, where the early birds are always favored over the ones who started out late. The gap widens and you'll get picked off in the competitive world - no matter how much talent you have. I don't care much for Tokens, but it is still quite frustrating to not be able to enjoy a fair game with others. I have 1354 Stars and it is not possible for me to even get into the Top 1000 for most of the events due to the fact that I do not have the required Pro Cars, nor do I have an extraordinarily amount of Extra Tanks. Those who win keep winning. They keep getting the free Boxes, keep getting Extra Tanks and more. The gap widens as they keep getting the edge in the events. Other than accepting how it is, there is no other way to play this game. Unless all of the old players stop playing, we will always be slower and take longer to reach a level where we can compete with them. Heck, I got a quite decent time in the Ferrari TLE in my division. I made it to the 23rd Place without using Extra Tank and my division had a crazy to top time - 1:18:xxx. I could get closer to that with an Extra Tank, but I think the best I can do that is between 1:19-1:20. It already proves that if I were given access to cars of the same Rank and the same amount Extra Tanks all those Top Players have, I'm pretty sure I can make it in Top 500 or more in most events, which is a lot better than being at the 55000+ place =.= But you see, we take a spot away and keep others from advancing forward even if win. There is no difference between us and them. It's either sacrifice others and go for the top, or be the nice person and let them step on you. Obviously it is not the only way to go. A great solution to this would be those Race Against the Clock events. Individual events allow everyone more of a chance to win stuff. At the very least you are not competing to push others out of a spot in order to get the goods. Well, just play it casually and you'll eventually get to where everyone is. It might take way longer, but you'll feel better if you allow yourself to enjoy the game. Unfortunately, we can't really complain when we are free players (assuming that you are one). I do think that the all those IAP adds up to a huge amount, so it is quite reasonable for people to not want to pay a single cent. However, it can sound really inappropriate and rude when complaining about something despite never contributing. I do share you sentiments though, but I enjoy the game at the same time. Isn't it more challenging and fascinating to be the underdog. Knowing that you are close to or even BETTER than the Top Players (depending on how good you are obviously) despite being on unfair ground can motivate you to keep playing (or working, if it is real life). I believe it is quite fun to be able to win when everyone looks down upon you and think that you don't deserve to win because they are the ones who played first.
Are you on Windows? There is a bunch of people from the V country using hacks. The previous Dodge Dart glitch seems to be related to GL's act against that hack, but apparently not working..
One has to be careful with those top positions. Sure for top of the world you need pro and extra tank. But you can also achieve rather good positions just by skills. In current German Nevada cup I am able to be save in TOP 50 with a car without pro tuning, without extra tank, even without any boosters. I think the main advantage of the veterans is huge experience and trained skills. Behind me are people with tripple boosters or with double boosted and proed Lucras (up to 1637). So train to get better is always a good advice.
I sincerely hope that there aren't a lot of "veterans" who really think like that. Looking down on "newbies" is one of the most childish notions in gaming, and I'd like to think that most people on this forum at least aren't that childish. Other than that, kudos on your description of Asphalt's "first come, first serve" characteristics. As someone who started playing Asphalt 8 the day it came out, I'm sad to say I think you're spot on. And it's actually worse than what you described us early birds (hehe) don't just have time on our side, the game was also easier and cheaper in its early days. Here are just a few examples: - Some cars were cheaper. The Veneno, for instance, was 40k credits at the beginning, if I remember correctly. - When the nitro booster and tuning kit were first introduced, they were a lot cheaper. - Participating in TLEs was a net win for us. Boosters were cheap (see above), the stupid extra tank wasn't introduced until relatively late in the game, and there wasn't a fuel system. The rewards for winning each TLE race, on the other hand, were similar to what they are now. - Speaking of TLEs, we won a lot of cars in relatively easy events. These days, you have to buy those cars, some of which are quite expensive. - When Gameloft introduced win streaks, they gave us coin doublers and upgrades for all car classes for a while. So earning millions of credits was trivial, and you maxed your cars for free while you were at it. Unless you grind like a madman or spend a lot of real cash, there really isn't any way to catch up. And the current Lucra event is a pretty good example for that, if you ask me. I had >20m credits at one point, and one of the things I did with those credits is buy and max a Lucra. Fast-forward to today's TLE, and that nets me 150 free tokens and a bunch of pro cards without even trying hard. (This is where I disagree with Zeremoniar, by the way. Us veterans may or may not have racing skills, but the one thing we definitely do have is maxed Lucras. That thing is borderline unobtainium for relatively new players.)
Yep. I started over on Windows and have first hand experience the difference. It took me roughly two months to own every car and MAX them. I began about a month before the win streaks were introduced. Two months into my Windows reset, I only have 50 cars, and only about 40 of those are MAX. Another thing that Bird didn't mention, is that cars used to go on sale frequently. There have only been two sales on cars since I started on Windows. But he's spot on. Upgrades were free, and with double credits in the streak bonus it literally rained. It is MUCH harder to gain anything now.
Couldn't have said it better myself. as someone who was on both sides of the situation, I could see a clear wall between newbies and veterans, and how GL's changes just made it grow. Before the Tuatara event, I was playing with little care or trouble, since I could easily farm credits thanks to free credit boosters, upgrades and rewarding MP races. Post this bad decision-making of mine, it just became slowly harder and harder to climb back up. Events were a lot harder too, so you had to have some money saved up, which I didn't. Being away from a while just made things way harder. It's not impossible to climb your way to the top though, but it's requiring more and more effort, something that people can't or just don't want to give (these people have lives to take care of). Take this advice for any game you'd like to play, but don't want to (or can't) dedicate too much time for it: start early, or don't start at all.
You are right with that was you wrote. I also participated a lot from those "golden times". Nobody of the new players will be able to catch up a frequent veteran without 24h playing or massive financial support. But not all in the top positions are "rich" veterans. There are also some just spent a lost of money in the game. One example: ~30 positions behind me is a German player who started playing 3 months ago (at least before I never read the name). This player is always TOP 20 in mpes and has a 1637 Lucra (I have no pro on Lucra, I still work on my XTR, GTR and P1). But even with that boosted car he is seconds behind myy 1603 unboosted Lucra. Thus, this is no veteran, just someone able to spent a lot of money. Those guys can be beaten by skills. So head up, it's not so dark as it seems. P.S. I drive sometimes events for my little daughters with their unmaxed unboosted cars. They have only less than 20 cars. Sure in S class I don't have any chance, but in D, C or B I can achieve dome nice positions and rewards even with their cars. Not 150 tokens, but for them 40k credits are lots of credits
Well said! Competition is good, but don't let it consume you. I still remember when the PRO system first came out, one of the first cups was Class C on Alps reverse. Some people already had fully PRO'd Lotus and it was impossible to compete on even ground. So it depends, if given sufficient time, the playing field levels out for everyone. That means: 1) Non-spending players will catch up to spending players in terms of inventory 2) Spending players will (with playing time) catch up to skilled players in technique => though they may be less inclined to practice
Weird, Gameloft forgot to release the Cups of the Ferrari 612 Spaghetti and put it available on store
Probably a new policy to release all cars together after all the new TLEs to give winners some "special time" with their cars.
Dude all the Vietnamese and Chinese players switch flags and insta-PRO cars on Windows. Its ridiculous.
No As it is on winphone, TLEs are a HGUGE joke, beside the fact that they keep us waiting for new update Thats the second issue with win and how GL makes up TLEs. For several weeks now, GL has made TLEs with mid ranged cars, just to get players to wast pro cards to PRO useless crappy cars. I've got of that perticular rollercoaster Yeah, see it all the time, and there is NO WAY All Those players have spent 1000$ each on proboxes to get their whatever car to max And Pro, even those cars requireing close to 80 rare to legendary cards to fully Pro Yup, happy I required some skills in this game, as I regularly beat 1000-1300 ranked players fully boosted, or as many skilled players do, rape most Sclass cars in P1 or GTR My wifes Andriod is mp lvl 33, 630 stars. I make nada winning races. I've litterarly crawled my way to 600+ stars, just so I can grind s9 for credits to use in MP. Even with coind doubler I cant winning every race make enough to cover kit/nitro starter. After playing (less then my winphone) for like 3 months, I can finally feel competetive in anything but high end S class races. Ofc, I'm no use in TLEs as I win few cards, and are rewarded with 99.5% crap in my dayly box. GL = Fabien - Do know that this game is nigh on impossible to get into unless one use cash, and I do believe you miss out on great feedback to friends and even more users total, if your greedyness didnt completely cover your vision Yup, we got those mofos on win aswell, and it still feels like GL isnt doing Anything about em. Do they even play their own game ?
