The flags were a fairly late addition to the game, and after they were introduced, everyone was allowed to change flags as often as they wanted to for a while. So compared to other cheats, changing flags more often than intended by Gameloft is a new one. It's nowhere near as old as 18 months. There's a simple solution to the problem, by the way: Ditch country-specific events in favor of additional worldwide events + comparably generous rewards. I never understood why, compared to smaller countries that don't have their own events, Canadians/Chinese/Germans should be rewarded for being Canadian/Chinese/German. And pro cards aren't cloned as easily as everything else in the game, as far as I know, so the clan people couldn't just go back to cheating everyone out of their rewards by competing with tons of cloned accounts.
Germany never had one single special events with nice Prices! We had French Geeman Cup where you could win Boosters and credits.
Fair enough. I switched to an international flag pretty soon after flags were introduced, so I wouldn't know. (I believe my point still stands, though. From what I've read on here, Canada does seem to have the occasional lucrative event, for instance.)
Fabien one more thing to fix, could you please tell the Dev Team to check the graphics performance inside the Iceland Cave? everytime i race one Iceland or Iceland Reverse just when i enter in the cave there is a freeze of the game that happens in less than 1 second, which is enough to lose the control of the car and wreck. This graphics issue in the Iceland cave is there since the last 2 or 3 updates i think.
Carnival sales: What actually is on sale? The cars in my to -get list certainly aren't at the moment...
It would be hard to set up comparably generous rewards for world wide events. Another reason is country-specific cups are related to holidays etc. I don't really have a problem with players switching to a certain country just to play the cups, but I think they definitely should not be hopping back and forth between countries just to reap thelargest reward at the expense of players who stick to one country. Good example would be Driver R and Rashid Hassan on Android, they are probably not French or Canadian but have kept their flag for as long as I can remember. I don't have a problem with those players.
Fabien, I will send you a private message shortly with screenshots showing you which players changed their flags through illegitimate methods to participate in the exclusive Canadian Family Day cup.
I think the next update is gonna bring car customization- Take a look at the image for the carnival event, and go on the facebook page and you'll see a Lykan with an orange vinyl.
IP addresses are not great for this. While not the vast majority of, there are tons of transparent proxies (corporations, governments, etc -- places that want filters or eyes on Internet traffic), shared IP spaces (coffee shops/internet cafes, etc), and NATs (especially for phones) that have user's sharing IP addresses. Similarly, the game is mostly played on mobile devices -- much more likely not to have a consistent IP to user mapping. But, the abuse should be a very tractable issue. Perhaps they need to log all country changes over a few days, and grep through to find switchers. If the logs don't have enough information to find the exploit, add more logging, and repeat
The number of players with fully proed cars in TLEs is just insane. I wonder how much $$ they're spending on cards to max their cars, knowing that they'll probably have to do that again for the next TLE.
Been playing quite a bit of MP for the past week, and I've got to say, the level of play seems to be getting better across the board. Still, it's not even close to the "old days" running the 1318 Survolt with the tuning kit and nitro against seven others with the same extras, car, rank. With all the combinations available today, it's rare to get more than one or two others with the same car etc. Still, I'm finding a few pretty fast cats out there. Takes a bit of the sting out of finishing second when at least it was a good, fair, clean race.
Yes, it's on Windows. Players 2 to 7 seem to Vietnamese. I've seen them a lot lately in TLEs. Don't know if they're part of a clan or something.
No doubt 2621, those were the days. Then came the Biome... All those PROed 9FFs is why I haven't even bothered buying a K1. I placed 250-ish with my P1 single tanked, so, whatever.
The low availability of nitro on some tracks, especially Iceland, is what prompted the idea of using the extra tank booster for the Dezir in MP..everything is fine till you hit one of those tracks....as for the tokens I'm not sure what tle is but watching videos is now worth 1 token which is about three a day since "video not available" pops up after that and national events pay some but it seems a waste for a 4hour booster...the Dezir was only 180t..oh we'll that's the way it goes I guess..and thank you for the reply and advice Ps: got it tle-time limited event...duh..lol
http://www.gameloft.com/?request=forum&url=showthread.php%3F203320-Country-flag-changers-should-be-banned%2Fpage14 A flag-changer over at the GL forum has explained how clans are able to change their flags at will. Here's his explanation. I've added some basic punctuation to make it more legible, but you can read the garbled original version by clicking on the link above. "Well, the clans don't use any hacks; they just have an unlocked flag file which they replace so that they can change the flag again, or what I do is: on 1 device I have unlocked flag file on my account, and on other device from where I play has a locked flag, so if I would wanna change the flag, I would just turn the game on from the 1st device and choose local data, and the locked cloud data will be replaced, and then I open the game on the device I play and I chose cloud and I get unlocked flag. I don't see where hacking was involved in this process. Anyway, old teams were smart enough to keep an unlock flag file saved so they could use it later!! You can't blame people for being smart you know.!!"
