GL Ryan: Do you know if the graphics are scaled back on iPad 2/iPad mini? Or if the framerate is locked to a lower value like 30 (or whatever) as opposed to something like the iPhone 5? Or did you guys actually manage to squeeze all the gfx goodies into and out of the iPad 2? (Yes I'm a graphics whore lol)
Wow, this game is taking a really long time to load, installing finally, hopefully at this rate, I can actually play before the US release, hehe. I will have ipad 3 screenshots, anyone able to put up ipad 4 screenshots so we can compare?
Anybody else getting a Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2010 console version vibe from this game? This game is just too good. I can't believe it is a direct sequel to Asphalt 7 Heat. This one feels like Asphalt 13 or something. I am loving the difficulty too. Even with abundant nitro, you are not guaranteed pole position and sometimes, you have to forgo some jumps in order to maintain your position. Detours are deal breakers too. Well done Gameloft for keeping mobile gaming alive with quality after quality offerings. Always cherished Gameloft's dedication to quality games since the days of symbian. Off topic: Anybody else saw how pocketgamer hurriedly did their top ten ios and android racing games shortly before the release of this beast called Asphalt 8 Airborne just to discredit Gameloft? Hmmm.
Wow, took a long time to download, but finally, here is the icon that says new! Coolness! A shoutout!
Lol. Well I do have an iPhone 5, but I tried asphalt 7 on it and I do remember the game was quite a bit harder since everything's so tiny, a game like Asphalt is just so fast that I would rather play it on the "big screen". :/
I posted a few pages back about the cross save function. I you sure it doesn't have it? People around here are not nearly as helpfull as they used to be. I never get responses to any questions I've had lately, kind of a waste being a member. There has to be another site with friendlier forum members out there somewhere
Connector: Looks great. How's the framerate? Did you notice missing effects (like less debris, sparks/smoke, less shaders etc), compared to GLs screens and videos?
I know the size of the game is somewhere around 1.47 GB and the download is 884 MB but was wondering if someone could confirm exactly how much space there needs to be to download. It's always been hit or miss for me -- sometimes just 2x the download size is enough (so about 1.8 gigs here) and others it's closer to 3x. Just wanna be prepared when 11 EST hits!
I apologize for missing it, lot's of pages in this thread and I must have skipped past it. If it does have cross save, that will be great! Thanks for posting that.
I believe you need download size+install size in free space, so in this case, 2.4gb. The way i understand it, you need space to download the ipa (884), then it needs the install space(1.47gb) to install (at this point, while extracting/installing, the total space taken up is their total which is almost 2.4gb), then at the end it deletes the downloaded file (of 884mb). Of course i may be wrong though.
Amazing racing game, The graphics are magnificent, the maps are insanely entertaining! I love it! Of course every game has a few issues, but his are few. The controls handle well, so no complaint there, but I wish they had a better camera angel. Something close but not directly behind the car. Oh and the action and cinematic camera angels are sick! The graphics are triple A, but it's weird seeing pixels on such a small screen, and I would love to see textures run at a higher resolution, or maybe introduce Anti-Aliasing. Other than that the game is magnificent!
That makes sense. Probably the games that aren't too compressed that only need 2X. Now...off to decide what's getting the axe.
Faults aside, I'm just thrilled this came in as a lost-cost premium game and didn't go in for the RR3 business model.
