I don't think this thread will die either — there will always be new players to replace those who stopped discussing Asphalt here. However, I do think that the thread has lost relevance and will continue doing so, due to the clan phenomenon and its somewhat cancerous nature. A year ago, you'd see some of the world's best players sharing their routes and strategies here, right in the public eye. These days, a lot of the really fast racers are organized in clans. They discuss Asphalt in private groups, and they guard their various glitches and secrets closely to keep a competitive edge. (There are exceptions to that rule, of course. Elite and Hector in particular come to mind.) In a way, this thread used to be the one real "open" clan. But what was once fun and games and open source has been replaced by a much more serious and professional-ish approach, thanks to the very same people who will often tell you that it's just a game. Some clans actually do make money from Asphalt, after all, and others adopt the same behavioral patterns to remain competitive. At the end of the day, though, I think it's a question of playing with others vs. playing against others. The latter philosophy is winning, and a freely accessible source of information such as this thread doesn't fit into that picture.
This thread will stay alive as long as RB keeps posting on it, it's a shame so many of the original players have gone from here and A8 in general. Oh and hector is a great and honest player but the most of the rest of elite are no different to summer and sky.
I'm sorry to read that friend, we will meet in Asphalt 9 By the way, if there was any doubt about VMAX performance, check my 1:19.648 in Monaco http://youtu.be/74JRTZHqG9Y
Definitely suspicious #1 with a K1 that is MAX & half-PRO but is better than all the MAX VMAX at #2, and... #2 with a MAX & PRO porsche (VMAX) Take a look:
Great lap hector!! As I suspected before, the vmax is faster than the one:1. For me, even on short tracks too. But that may be just my preference though.. Not really. Just that the one with the pro level vmax made a poor lap and the one with the one:1 did a very good one. On windows the no1 is as always the guy who had pro level cars since the first tournament after the update. He did 1:17xx on single tank and he's far from the best.
Being a new player to this game makes me quite unfamiliar with the etiquette in the multiplayer of this game. Are everyone so desperate to win? I don't mind losing, but it is honestly frustrating to have people boost and crash me right at the beginning. What's worst is that most of my crashes are by Citroen users. They move erratically and try to crash into every car possible - what the hell is with these guys? No offense, but if people like knocking down cars to win, then why don't they just play single player? There is no knock down in multiplayer precisely for that reason. I think I know another factor that prompts people into cheating when it comes to this game. Once you get knock downed enough times by these people (just because they can't get past you), you'll feel like doing the same. Yeah, so fun crashing others huh? When people crash you down, I want to see these players cry. Jesus Christ, I try my best not to crash people so that I can win fairly, but it seems like skill=crasheveryonebetterthanyou is normal in multiplayer. I can win when nobody crashes against me (and if their car rank isn't a lot higher than mine). Even if I'm not a top player, I'm still a decent player who wants to enjoy the game. Knock down is a feature of that game, but it doesn't mean you HAVE to do that. Wow, it was such a fun race. Knocked down right in the beginning. Next, when the Citroen wrecked itself right in front of me and revived, it stuck to me (in its transparent invincible state) and kept swinging left to right. It was hoping to crash me down after it gets completely revive, and guess what, it did knocked me down. Really wanted to quick the race (lost my win streak sigh). Can I play a single game without anyone boosting at the speed of 500mph at the start of the race and people who constantly tries to crash me instead of actually racing? Maybe I should find them and ram a car into their house to see how they feel about ramming others down. Jeez. Rant over. On another note, are cheaters still rampant in this game? There are so many players that I can't get close to no matter how hard I try. Our car ranks are so similar (I'm using Class C cars because I don't want to go for the S Rank races), but even if I use all the correct shortcuts, cut corners without drifting, constant perfect nitro, I still can't get even remotely close to these players. Furthermore, a lot of them a Level 1 players =.=. I hope they are just very skillful and not cheaters. I was trying to get the free Class C upgrade so that I don't need to waste the money I grind so hard for. Using credit to buy boosters would just offset the free upgrade. tl;dr - Rant: I don't need to win all my races, but please let race against people who doesn't try to ram me again and again on purpose. It feels like I'm playing Infected + Knockdown when playing Classic.
Hello Samhiuy welcome to the forum. Unfortunately the solution to your problem is to use a fast accelerating car and also to use boosts. If you are concerned with winning and win streaks that is the only way to do it. The last time I had any sustained success in MP without boosts was on a Survolt tuned to 1129 (I think) with 3-1-1-1 upgrades. Haven't played much since the update but that worked well before it for solid win streaks. With regards to the knocking down, you should try to get better at doing it yourself and forget about race etiquette. That's where a fast accelerating car will help, nitro starter too. I'll go out of my way to knock down as many players as I can in MP, it is a good little nitro boost and it's also a good strategy if they have a better car than you. Play to win, it doesn't pay to be nice in this game
Knock downs in MP classic mode are really frustrating, especially since my instinct is to try and block faster cars to make it more difficult for them to overtake, but they just ram into me and I go down.
Yes, welcome "Sam." That was quite a rant. I felt that strongly about knockdowns ... a year ago. For what it's worth, it's just part of the game and 327 is right on it: nitro and quick out of the gate are huge. I disagree with 327's view of "knock down as many players as I can." I see that all the time and I love it. Because when someone is doing that, I'm slicing my way to the front. You're doing everything right "Sam," the knockdown deal just takes getting used to. You learn to both avoid getting killed not all the time and how to kill as your spacial awareness increases. One key, I've found, is to never get flustered. Stay 100 percent calm and cool all the time and focus on getting to the finish line as safely and as fast as you can.
haha i told you about the amazing 1129 survolt right? (like the 3-1-1-1 combo) good times, when there wasnt a token system
The 3-1-1-1 Survolt is still a good choice for MP. With a little skill and knowledge you will (almost) never get knocked down at the start.
i have it maxed now, so i cant enjoy the easy mp matches i used to have when using it yup, and on android at that rank, literally no one runs with a nitro booster, except the odd boosted mini, (which i stopped finding after the update) and a boosted tts
Yea use boosters. I never do mp without boosts. If there are others in my way I'm knocking their asses down. Gotta do what it takes to increase my world ranking cuZ coming in second place with koeniggsegg and losing 8 points and taking 3 races to earn it back is such a bitch -.-
I don't boost in MP at all. Then again, that's why I'm stuck at +/- 1950 lol . Sure, i get taken out half the time at the beginning, but catching up is a challenge I also find it super weird that there's only 6 US-based players on the Windows VW W12 100 leader board. What do the iOS and Android leader boards look like?
Thanks Yeah that is a problem... I usually have to avoid full booster cars when they are near to me (I always play unboosted. I only use nitro starter when I win it in MP)
