I have been where your at, and understand your feelings but was just trying put it in perspective so that you and others can still find some fun in this game. Oh and I am not a GL rep!! I have been one of their harshest critics, but now have given up on trying to steer them away from th dark side.
Wait, wasn't hippida just not too long ago poo-poo'ing our rants, saying this game was still great and it was all about what you make of it yourself? Hmmm.... Maybe it was someone else...? Anyways, I'm checking in for the last time here on the A8 thread on TA. Just wanted to say thanks to the many who I've had fun with along the way, too many to name individually. After all, I paid 1USD for this game back when it launched (along with a couple early car packs for around 15USD), and that was because I got more than my money's worth out of the previous versions, which were cutting edge and phenomenal. These were the best racing games ever made for the mobile market, and they brought together some really great players here on TA. Kudos to all of you for helping me enjoy this series to its fullest. It's sad what has happened to the Asphalt series. This used to be a game I would demand my friends download and play. Now, I wouldn't recommend it to my enemies. Well, maybe some of my worst enemies, but not anyone I have hope for. Gameloft has taken Asphalt and turned it into something that rhymes with bassduck for all their customers. Gimme that money. Gimme, gimme, gimme. The funny thing is that they will probably open it back up at the start of A9. We'll be able to download and play it with great freedom and enjoyment. And once it gets popular enough, they'll flip the switches and turn it into a gigantic money grab that only a rich fool or cheater can fully enjoy. Unfortunately, there are enough rich fools out there for GL to stay in business, and they don't really give a damn about the cheaters as long as the cheaters keep driving up the price. The mobile market is poisoned. We had a 3-5 year window where companies were testing it out, but they've found their pattern and now we're all screwed in terms of ever getting a truly great game again. Anything worth a damn will be freemiumed to death. Can't blame the companies, really. It's the dumbass kids who keep giving their parents' money to them who are to blame. Maybe in a decade or so when the kids throwing their parents' money away realize that it's their money going into the toilet, we'll see some change. And on that topic, this lottery thing with the cards is ultra-pathetic. There seriously needs to be some laws vs this throw your money away for chance cards epidemic that is currently plaguing the mobile market. It is straight up disgraceful, and every single game developer knows it. They should all go to jail. It is digital theft. They already know the outcome of all the money coming their way, they designed it. But they take advantage of the ignorant youth getting cheese from mommy and daddy nonetheless. Damn, sorry for the rant. I hope the TA vipers don't wipe it out. I'm pretty sure I didn't say any bad words, but then again, I didn't last time and my post was wiped. Whatever. Best of luck to those of you who keep keeping on, and my gratitude to those of you who I've enjoyed the company of in the past. Special thanks to RunningBird and Hector. RB is the most badass of the MP'rs I've ever come across. Time trials can suck it, head to head, RB will smoke you. Hector's videos taught me things I didn't realize were possible, and made me so much better when facing the clock. You two were my greatest inspirations.
I was going to make one of me blowing my 66 double tanks, 15 credit doublers, and blowing my 24 mill credits on a rediclious amount of tuning kits, after I had finished tanking my ranking, but instead I thought I Would join fury and try and have some fun. I was seconds from doing it but twitch wasn't working so I couldn't record it.
I feel you bro. You couldn't have put it any way better. When A9 comes along, this thing will repeat. And, since we left the game, the next players to come will not know what happened to A8 and will fall for the trap. I don't know you very well, but your contributions to this thread have been great. It's kind of sad to see people quietly leaving one-by-one, with an end-rant speech. This game went from hero, back to zero. Well, bye Hope to see you again in the next series
Anyone notice any correlation to the length of the TLE in days to the price of the car? I'm curious if I made the right call go8ng for the W12 instead of the Rimac
I guess where we differ is that I view unlimited attempts as a potential solution and you view it as a potential problem. So I guess that begs the question: Assuming TLE races didn't award credits, why would unlimited attempts be a problem? It seems to me that unlimited attempts would increase all three types of booster purchases as well as undermine those who are cheating the current fuel system, both positive changes. (Again, I think both the fuel system and credit-reward should remain for MPTLE's)
I think I misunderstood you the first time, I'm with you on this one. More attempts means dramatically higher chance of buying fuel and/or double tank, making up for the no-credits-reward thing you mentioned. You're right my friend, but GL wouldn't want to listen... smh
That would just mean GL going back to the old system of unlimited attempts/no fuel bar (where, if you didn't have the car, you'd rent it for each run). They haven't reverted to previous practices ever that I recall. Not sure why GL would do it in this case despite it being viewed as a positive change by most players. That appears to hold no sway.
Well, TC finally got the 9FF from Gameloft. So kudos to them for realizing that they had made a mistake.
That's not what I'm saying. Let me try to explain the suggestion again: 1. MPTLE's remain unchanged (fuel system + credits awarded at end of each race works well for this format) 2. All other TLE's require no per-race entry fees of any kind (but do not reward credits after each race) The idea is choice. If you feel like spending some time earning credits, then you can choose to participate in regular MP or season races. If you feel like spending some time competing against others for TLE prizes, fire up those boosters and make as many attempts as you like to get your best time, but the trade off is that you are not earning credits after each race for those attempts. –EDIT– Here's what's in it for GL: Right now I am not purchasing the Double-Tank boost. Ever. (I have a stock of Double-Tanks that I have won, and unless one of the reasonably attainable prizes is "2x Double Tank" I don't use them.) However, if I could get the full four hours out of the Double-Tank boost, I could actually see myself purchasing some for certain TLE's.
Here's your reply Viktor, and for the time being. A8 is deleted. I've actually started reading again, law of one on my kindle Dude, I just had the worse day yesterday, and if I wasnt the most peacfull (for real bro) human being, I'd blow that sjithole calle gamloft to kingdom come. I'd sure hope for some class action taken against em, if even possible. Those dudes are even worse that drug dealers, and I've noticed those 2 GL reps spending even less time here, when they've been found out. And to the dude asking, yes I am the hippida saying that this game isnt dead, I was wrong, but for necrophiles, I guess there is a small gist of fun to be had still
That is what I have been thinking since I discovered these boosters (double tank mostly). It would make more sense if there were no fuel bars so people would buy them (for those who've got none) and would play their asses off in the TLEs. And I like your idea of keeping the fuel for the MP TLE because those are for points and, since the more you play the more you gain, people would buy refills to keep earning points (which is what they are doing now). I also kind of want the boosters to be active only during actual gameplay, not menu screen and etc... but I don't see that happening
