People keep mentioning that as an excuse of sorts, and it doesn't make sense to me. I grew up playing cards and board games. Cheating was not acceptable.
Couldn't agree more. "It's only a game." translates to: "Because this activity is not important to the whole of humanity, your frustrations are unjustified." Obviously this statement is absurd. On top of that, the word "game" is based on the assumption that players are not cheating. When people cheat, the word "game" inherently loses much of its meaning. game a competitive activity involving skill, chance, or endurance on the part of two or more persons who play ACCORDING TO A SET OF RULES
They're not even trying now. I think GL no longer cares about this game or the players, so they gave us a dirty IAP trick with tokens and pro kits, and then put their feet up and said "Well, now we don't have to worry about this stupid game anymore!" And as a result, cheaters are even more rampant, glitches are slowly destroying the game, and everyone is pissed off. If No Limits is another EA greedfest like their other mobile games (and some of their console games), they will have missed the opportunity to give people an enjoyable mobile racing game. RR3 has been P2W garbage for a year and a half, and CSR is in the same boat. And now Asphalt 8 has been killed by greed and carelessness. So No Limits better be a premium game. NOT freemium. If GL has basically given up on this game than I doubt they'll bother to continue the Asphalt series, and will just let A8 be slowly worn down by cheaters and greed.
I looked on the VMAX leaderboard and there were 67 of 100. Add the top 20 who got it for free and you have a handful of people who bought the $75 car. IAP isn't working and that's all gameloft needs to know. They make a lot more from advertising.
It's not "just a game" as soon as money changes hands. It's a product/service. Allowing cheaters to persist devalues purchases made by legitimate customers outside of the scope of introducing new IAPs/monetization (which is expected). There's probably grounds for a class action. vOv
Chill out RB the bit you quoted was not a reference to cheating, it was a point to remember ber that there are far worse thing going on in this world than a few pathetic kids stealing points or or prizes off others. It is only a game not real life. This game does have many parallels with real life, but it think we can all work that out for our selves. Grey goose, I was making this same point. Which is exactly why I am not prepared to put any more money into this.
There seems to be a mentality with Devs and publishers that "since we like it, they'll like it too," no considering the fact that they most likely have infinite access to all features in the game. I hate that sometimes only like 20 people who play matches out of the thousands get the grand prize, yet Gameloft makes entire game updates off of that one match. I always wondered too, a cheater should have the abort to cheat just enough to make it unnoticeable. I remember having asphalt 7 installed on my device and then seeing the Asphalt 8 E3 Gameplay Trailer, that was an amazing experience. Now every time I see it in the AppStore, (deleted) it's a reminder that I need to start gaming as my current methods have seems to fade over the years... I'd like to exploit the game too, but not for cheating on the Multiplayer matches or TLE's I want to be able to progress in the friggin' game and be able to buy the next car so I can finish the race slightly faster to be that damned AI car with its extreme heavy-duty rubberband.
Yeah yeah, if the cars would cost 1-2$ each, a HUGE AMOUNT of them could be sold... As I have stated, a bug free, IAP free retail boxed Asphalt 8 doesn't worth more than 40$ considering the price of racing games in the past... And I think, for a buggy arcade game, even 40$ is much.
OK, looking for ways to stay interested in A8 and was checking out all the cars in MP. I'm finding that even with the introduction of the new card/token system, when you modify/upgrade beyond what was once MAX, car performance remains relative. So, if you bump up the Mini, it remains a solid choice. If you bump up the Survolt, it remains a solid choice (solid choice meaning they are pretty tough to beat in MP). Has anyone discovered a car that wasn't bad a$$ that is now bad a$$ with certain upgrades? And has anyone discovered any interesting sweet spots for cars upgraded with the new system? And for the new-ish A8 players, do you get pissed off when you lose/get wrecked/beat by drivers using nitro and tuning kit? One other thing, for those of you who play several games, what's the typical shelf life of each game meaning what's the span of time you play a game every day? I ask because it seems like A8 has an extremely long shelf life for some of us (we've been playing for over a year)? I have no idea; this is the only game I have ever played.
Certain high AClass and low S class cars that were useless can be tweaked to make them effective in MP. My current favourite is the gTR but it is most effective with extra tank. I hear the p1 tuned below 1650 it a good K1 killer as well. I am going to do some work on /sesto/zonda/huwayra when I have spare pro stuff.
Error 226 In order to introduce myself. I'm Driver 1184 and play Asphalt 8 on Windows 8.1. After the Christmas update I also get the error 226 (race failed to start) on a regular basis when attempting to participate in a multiplayer event. It happens when the number of participants first goes up and then one by one goes down again. I do not know if this is caused by bad internet connections, bad Gameloft servers or because participants deliberately disconnect themselves (in order to be in a match with more people). Sincere, Driver 1184
Had another Jihad race in the Multi-Class TLE. 3... 2... 1... ### DQ'ed. Also, I'm starting to realize how handicapped I am playing on an iPhone 4. I played on a friend's iPhone 5 and wow. The game was so smooth and my times were noticeably lower. #
Sector 8 Glitch After the 2014 Christmas update for windows 8.1 users there seems to be a number of bugs in Asphalt 8. The weirdest one is a glitch in Sector 8. I participated in the Class Battle Cup multiplayer event with a Koenigsegg One:1 in Sector 8 without any boosters. After exiting the left tunnel you can take the barrel ramp and enter the vortex. However I failed to take the ramp correctly. Instead I entered the ramp on the extreme right and therefore missed the vortex just to the right side underneath. During the fall I turned the car to the left. I expected to fall into the water. The car however went straight through the water and entered into a black space all around. Then I suddenly finished first with a time of 44 seconds. More weird things happened after that. All the times in the cup leaderbord dissapeared with the exception of mine and a few others. (This only happens on my computer). And I cannot participate in any multiplayer event or multiplayer worldseries anymore because each time I am the only participant. Am I banned? I did not do this on purpose. Sincere, Driver 1184
Could you please edit the rest of your post to remove that information? If some random Chinese clan guy reads it, it's going to be hell during the next tournament in S8. Thanks. "Particularly," it would be great if you could also remove the part that you quoted when you replied to him.
if you dont know how to edit, simply click the edit button, then remove the sentences in your post or in the quote and click save oooooooooh sooooo secretive dun dun dunnnnnn
I was also thinking about this some time ago, but then I just realised that I play for fun. If the fun goes away then it's about time for me to leave, playing with cheats is just a waste of time for me. So I stayed and play without cheating with what I've got and won honestly and still get fun from it, though I play way less than I used to. But it's only good for me cause I do not waste so much time for gaming But what really changed for me is that there was a time when I was willing to pay some money to GL because I just thought if I like the game so much and got it for free, I could spend some cash on it. But then the irrationally expensive premium cars appeared. And not long after it the game was flooded with thousands of cheaters who get all premium content for free. So I don't think like that anymore - I will not pay any single cent to Gameloft anymore for ANY OTHER GAME. So it's them not me who looses it, even if their cashbox is full (for now).
