Follow up: I may be wrong, but I think that one of the new cars in the Winter Update is going to be the Hennessey Venom F5 and probably will be faster than K1, but I think if that's the case then GL's next move will be to make it purchasable only though IAP :/ I don't know, just thoughts and assumptions...
So far we've got a convoluted new upgrading system involving these cards. So now to Max my cars I must get these cards through a random draw and THEN go through the expensive process of maxing the car. The token system should have never seen the light of day, you can get small quantities by winning TLEs but otherwise you better break out your wallet. This Spada thing can be purchased with tokens right now, and they've already put out two TLEs for its release, like with every other car. And I can't even try out Sector 8. Edit: Almost forgot about that car. I was expecting possibly the LaFerrari FXXK but there doesn't seem to be any new car that screams "One:1 Competitor". Maybe the new Top S car is another hidden one, like the Tuatara and Venom were.
I'm not following Gameloft anymore, but I have to say this... This UPDATE is a FRAUD! The Pro kits steals all your effort Maxing the cars. Which means... Your cars are not Maxed anymore... juanenrique is right! And now they will "fly" No, thanks! Besides, 11 common cars... Not a special one! Gameloft wants more slavery from customers! Even the Sector 8 is a silly track. Airborne or Hot Wheels? Look at this screen from the Community The tunnel is just like Nevada Tunnel with some geometric draws and tons of neon lights!
Could you elaborate on that slightly more? I don't know what you mean by 'Pro Kit' and how it affects maxed cars.
So now we have three kinds of currency, and everything's geared towards TLEs, because they're the best way to sell boosters. Oh well, I had pretty much quit already anyway. And I like how they called one of the new collections "Brave New World". This is a more apt comment on Asphalt's development than Gameloft intended — congrats on the Freudian slip! (Hint to the uneducated parts of Gameloft: The brave new world is not a good thing. Go read a book some time.)
Too many news By the way, if anyone have problems with F-150 race in season 9, check this video, 2:11.566 unboosted http://youtu.be/ZckeXVRyvjM

I guess that you are talking about the Tokens and the Pro Kits The Tokens and the Pro Kits are targeted to become a unique and impactful layer of prizes for our Events, enhancing the value of the investment players make while racing them. They have been added to make the late game experience more meaningful in the long term. This updates will introduce loads of events. Events have since a long time started to engage some of the most dedicated players in the A8 competitive community. Amazing skill is required to beat event races – such performance is worth a new layer of exclusive, late game rewards. Obviously, as the rest of the content in the game, Tokens and Pro Kits boxes can be also acquired through IAP immediately, without long term investment. All of you can try it by playing the event "Ferrari 308 GTS MULTIPLAYER CUP". As I was telling to Juanenrique, your cars are still maxed out. You can see that the "MAX" icon haven't disapeared. Therefore, you keep your upgrades and your right to participate to events requiring a maxed out car. The Pro Kits gives you a new layer of upgrades that goes on top of the old one. Which means that you can still improve the performances of the cars that you have maxed out. I suggest that you try this amazing track for yourself: Crazy loopings, anti-gravity roads, teleportation device, jumps,etc...
So dev team killed the people that farm credits by introducing a new currency? Please answer my question, how far is the difference between a car with the usual tuning kit againt a car with a Pro Kit? I already heard from pleople that is not possible compete against user that paid money for the Pro Kit on multiplayer
Here's what the community is saying: The new update introduces a new series of upgrades for every car, increasing their top level. To install the upgrades you obviuosly need money, but you also need CARDS: you can buy them with the pro kits, which come out in 4 versions, one for a few thousand credits (contains 4 cards, you can buy it once every 24 hours), and three for tokens (containing respectively 8, 15 and 30 cards, you can probably buy them anytime you want); you can also win them in cups. Basically: Asphalt 8 just turned into a trading card game.
Sorry Fabien but I don't think resetting what has taken people hundreds and hundreds of hours of gameplay can be described as progress. Running multiple high-fuel TLEs at once with your inhibitive fuel system unchanged too? And saying you can progress the tokens and kits through TLEs, with the horribly low % of prizes you pay? Which will go to the chinese clans who will inevitable pay to upgrade one account then clone it? Have you even taken any steps to address their cheating at all? I could go on all day with this tbh. This update has so many layers of awful that it's hard to even figure it all out so far.
Played some more single player races and had a close look at the AI cars, some of which come with pro card upgrades, or whatever they're called. They're fast. Here's my one star app store review, which Gameloft will probably try to take down... EDIT: By the way, my buddy Slight Return posted his feedback below this post. The post got removed, and he's in timeout now. Granted, there were three expletives in his post, but considering the quality of this update, it was adequate feedback. Here's the slightly paraphrased gist of what he said, minus the expletives, just in case Ryan or Fabien are interested: "All this update does is force regular players out and encourage the cheaters even more. I'm probably done with [Gameloft] forever. [It's a pity] that a once great game franchise has turned into [something not so great]."
From what I hear, everybody is disappointed with this game. Starting with the token system and whatever the hell those cards are, and ending with IAP. I remember somebody posted that Gameloft claimed the following: "In-app purchases will not prevent game progress" I smell some BS If the clans are still there and were not dealt with in any way at all, then I'm done with this game, it's becoming pointless and there's no objective or any goal to achieve. Nobody legit to compete with, when all these clans are roaming free.
Nah... I'm too busy to play Hot Wheels! Fabien Sorry... Asphalt 8 - Sector 8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbZzWWnEiYc That new track is a piece of sh#t! It's a mix between Dubai and San Diego, clearly! And how ridiculous is that Loop and the name Sector 8... PS: Not my money!
It does appear that GL has now gone far enough to kill of the possibility of the honest player ever being competitive again.. I suspect that this short term view will put off many of there customers, and will never return. My son is done with it after the last upgrade and god knows how you would feel if you just started this game.
This update is worse than anything that has come before it. All of the hours I spent maxing out my 72 cars, grinding to earn credits for expensive upgrades, running the same tracks over and over to be able to make my cars as competitive as possible in multi-player and tournaments...now all for nothing, because of this new token upgrade system. I don't even care about Sector 8, it's just another Dubai-style track with a few "cool" gimmicks like anti-gravity walls and portals. But this token system has officially made Asphalt 8 no longer about skills, but about paying money so that you can race with cars that have 100-150 rating points above the other ones in a field. No matter how good a player is, if he's "only" racing with a maxed car, he won't be able to compete against the people with pro cars (in Gameloft's dictionary, "pro" actually means "individual willing to spend obscene amounts of money just to have an advantage in a race"). I haven't even started taking into account what this update does to all of the times set on ghost leaderboards. Now the "pro" Mini Cooper will be able to go as fast as a maxed Mustang? Some players have spent hours racing in those events to get the fastest times among their friends. But that too has been ruined, since anyone can now upgrade their Nissan to 1300 (or whatever its new ceiling is) and crush all of the current D-class times, since it will basically be a high-end C-class car at that point.
It's the first time an upgrade auto-installed, by the way. I didn't even have the opportunity to wait or turn it down. My version of A8 had already changed when I opened my iPad a while ago.
I'm back to TA again, as usual, the game got worst each time have its update. This time with all weird funny CRAP! What wrong with the Rare card/Legendary Cards? U THINK THIS IS POKEMON CARD GAME FOR-GOD-SAKE-LOFT! Another thing is what is the Pro Kit? To further improve our maxed cars, using newly introduced credits(Token)?! Which will be given out in such small reward...... So which basically want all players to buy it(IAP)to enhance our cars. All in all, sucks again......
I have a novel idea. How about a game with an actual progression system and not a ton of stupid currency and IAP to do anything? One by one big and small gaming franchises are being taken into the ground. People will spend tons of money on IAP but won't pony up a few dollars up front for an actual gaming experience? Guess ill never understand "people".
