I agree with you 100%. I don't know if you are familiar with Csr racing? But you have the freedom to upgrade and downgrade your cars at will, once you have paid for the upgrade of course. I have been saying forever that they should add this option to the game, it would add so much more diversity to the game.

Victor, I don't see how this would be a problem, once you own the upgrade you own it. If you maxed the car you would still have maxed potential but you would be able to add or subtract at your own discretion. You don't lose the upgrade, they are still in your garage.

I guess you're right, but GL rarely responds to requests such as these :/

To circumvent specialized vehicles, why not just allowing selling owned vehicles for half value? The return is inhibitive, but it will fix the problem.

The clan cheaters get to modify their cars at will for zero cost. Why should honest players have to spend credits just to be able to compete on even terms with them? Are you a member of Sky or Open, perchance?

I wouldn't want that option. The same way they could add that they could just as easily add an option to control your upgrades. Plus it's a lot more fun. In Csr racing I get a kick out of fine tuning my cars the way I like. I have even found a way with certain cars to take an upgrade or two away and have my total power number come out higher! Like I said its a lot of fun to play around with.

Yay, another D Class cup!

    So, right now we've got...

Hotshot B Blass Cup - Biome
    Super Cup - One1
Winter Break D Class Cup - Mustang (IAP)
    Class C Cup - Jag F-Type R (IAP)

It's no wonder these TLE's are getting so stale, not to mention the pointless rewards for playing them.

    Possible useful glitch on London.

I am not sure if anyone else has tried it, but as you go up the ramp by Tower bridge drift and nitro into the water to the right, you flat spin low and respawn about where you would land on a normal jump on the other side, but if you get it right with very little air time.
I don't have a record facility to work out if it is worthwhile so someone test it for me:)

Exactly, I don't like knockdowns on MP. I only go to the offensive when people go to the offensive with me. I drove the wrong way on purpose to get my revenge, and the second time you wrecked in my screen but I got wrecked in yours so you survived.

    The drifting challenges

I'm awesome at that game, but drifting challenges are so hard. Local Multiplayer reminds me of my GoldenEye Days with friends.

If you only knock down players in their state of strength or by accident, I guess it's debatable, but I understand that knockdowns are and will forever be an usable and powerful mechanic in A8, and I will not criticize you for using it. Like you said, the desire of revenge is a good feeling that drives you (haha that pun wasn't funny) to play even more.
But you have to agree that knocking down players in a state of weakness unless by accident is just being a jerk. When I run out of nitro, I try to get out of the other drivers' way. I HATE when those make the detour just to knock you down. I have the desire for revenge, but it's different from the other case if you catch my drift (have another pun :p)

I totally agree with everything you said. If I'm at a disadvantage and I get out of your way, and you still make it a point to knock me out, then **** you. I'll make it a point to search those jerks out and get revenge.

But if you knock me down when we're battling for position, or it just happens by accident, that's part of racing and I don't get mad.

The absolute worst are the people that run double tanks and slow down just to let people pass them so they can catch back up and knock them out. I've got no respect for losers that do stuff like that. Also the people that turn the opposite way and target oncoming players who are still trying to race. That stuff is just pathetic. Go find another way to waste your time.

Totes. Brutal for me, having just restarted because I switched to Windows and have those cars on my Android account. Those, and twenty plus 2x credit boosters. Oh well. Worth it, since there's no clans on Windows.

    Eh.

I love the PvP aspect, some of my rivalries are because of knockdowns. MP has one goal -- cross the finish line. If I want to obsess over race times/best laps, I'll race my buddies' ghosts.

    As far as a disadvantage?

File that under: Better. Nitro. Management. I'll drift my @#$^%@# off to get some 'knockdown nitro'.

To be clear -- this isn't about triple boosted race start knockdowns (I generally race without any boosts unless I'm fresh off a TLE set), but if we're mid race and been neck and neck the whole way? I'm going for the kill when I get the chance :D It's the spice of MP life.

I know what you mean, and I agree in cases where there's no third car involved. Often, though, it doesn't work this way — consider this scenario:

You're slightly ahead of a car that's faster than yours. Then you chance upon a "weak" car. Wouldn't you knock down that weak car in an attempt to stay ahead of the faster car? I would. And I remember tons of races where I defeated extra tank racers because a weak third party was friendly enough to donate some nitro right at the start. Everybody's reduced to being a moving nitro container sometimes. :)

It also happens in the middle of the race sometimes, by the way, e.g., because you're lapping someone, or because the weak car is an acceleration monster with a slow top speed (such as a Survolt or a Sesto Elemento) that got ahead of the serious contenders at the beginning of the race.

Finally, sometimes the weak car moving out of the way can be a trap. I know I've done it — you run out of nitro, you get out of the way and drift, and then you kill the car that fell for the trap and overtook you as soon as you've gathered enough nitro. This doesn't necessarily mean you're a jerk. It's often the only way to win when you're facing significantly faster cars, and that's the hand most of us are dealt, given how mutliplayer matchups work.

MP is all about getting to the finish line first. I will take out drivers at the start if I need their nitro, I will go out of my way to kill cars that are faster than mine as it is the only way to beat them.
Back when MP was good I had some of the most exciting races against rivals that I knew would take me out given the chance and I would do the same to them. This kill or be killed thing is what made it exciting.
With the introduction of double tanks this became less relevant because you never run out of nitro and therefore just triple off the start and stay on the nitro in safety.
Oh and if you are in a Biome I will knock you down just for using it. :)

Ha, if it had got away you would have lost.
Knock downs are one of the things that make this game different to your standard racing sim. I would like to see a multiplayer game where to win you had to survive the longest. It would be a refreshing way to use the games mechanics and the choice of cars and use of all the routes on the tracks would open up a new skill set.
Team play would make it even more interesting.
