I'm slowly trying to build my tanks back up too, I also wasted some of my free collection ones but thankfully not all, I had reached almost 30 at one point when they were giving away loads up to about a month ago but that has dropped a bit since the one:1 and GTR cups used up a few each, and they haven't been giving them out as much since. My best haul was 5 in a MP TLE apex Wednesday where I was unexpectedly off work and got to play all day, think it was 3 for top 10 or 15 and 2 more for top 50 or 100, can't really remember now exactly. I bought one fuel refill before I went to bed and played every 90 mins the whole day.
So I'm running the 370z, alpha Romeo 8c, and lykan all maxed. I actually posted decent numbers yesterday (about 4 or 5 sec behind the lead in Dubai, on 0 boosts) I desperately need competitors in my B and A class. For B, the 599xx looks the best gamble. It costs a whole lot less than the biome and I could get near those times. The gallardo is the other option, but I don't think it's as fast as the 599, albeit easier to control? CLK is just too expensive to upgrade. In A class I could upgrade my sesto from 1/1/1/1. It posts like the p1, Ferrari, and GTR... Maybe not 100%, maybe 95... But the P1 is really sexy and the upgrade cost of the GTR is out of the question. The Ferrari is 125k less, but I admit more ugly Drive hard
Are you talking about cars to use in TLEs I assume? I would hold off on the Sesto and focus on the p1, like you say the GTR is super expensive. There isn't a great deal of performance difference but it does seem to be that the GTR is the new king of A class, but the p1 is more cost effective if you're not gonna be getting a lot of credits through your account. If it's within your potential reach I would also try to get together 1.2m credits in the next 3 weeks as there are quite a few people expecting the one:1 to go on sale for Xmas too. With regards to B class, unfortunately you're gonna have to get 1.8m together to buy and max the biome, I would look at those other cars as nothing more than wasting money that could be saved for the biome. I don't think the gallardo or 599 come close when it comes to TLE lap times. It also should be on sale at Xmas. The thing about biome too is that on S9 you get 5000 credits for a 54-55 second lap in Dubai and the AI is so bad it's hard to lose a race, so it can pay for itself afterwards. I made somewhere in the region of 1.7-1.8m credits in one evening playing S9 biome over and over for 5 hours with a double credits boost lol so it can generate some serious credits if you really need it to. But overall yeah I wouldn't waste credits on anything other than top cars in each class until you have them maxed and can start to get better rewards in the TLEs, then go back to collecting and maxing other cars in the longer term.
I think you mean Running Bird. I've only got 11 extra tanks right now, and so many people played the Skills Vs. Speed event since I set my time that it looks like I'll only be getting 1 tank out of it (unless they do some cleaning up and remove at least 5 players with multiple accounts; Sky Teddy and DrChee, who are above me right now, are definitely cheaters that should be removed).
I've only used 1 extra tank in MP in the last 2 weeks (the same evening that I played the Skills vs. Speed event). I used to be a constant extra tank user (back when the Mini Cooper was a viable MP car), but since San Diego, Gameloft has almost entirely ceased giving away extra tanks, outside of the annoying zombiegrind events, and the occasional generous cup like SvsS.
XMas sale brings up a good point. But I am the type of player that wod use a different car on purpose and get some looks on a leaderboard. Like that CLK on the biome leaderboard at 93... The money is a problem. I only have 300k, and I still remember farming the lykan... However, the entry price of some cars isn't so bad, at least you can appreciate the car while you tune it. Farming for k1 is just going to put me to sleep without some TLEs in A and B. Sesto and 599 would take just a day to max and I could begin collecting currency for k1
What is yours and 20th positions times? Still a couple of hours left! I guess it's more difficult in worldwide, you should def think about asking to get reset to Canada now that the regional events are making a bit of a comeback. Actually does worldwide pay more than 20 for the top prize?
Nope, only the top 20 get the 3 tanks, which is indeed unusual. The top prize for Worldwide players is usually awarded to more people to take into account the fact that so many countries are represented, but I guess Gameloft doesn't want to give away more tanks than needed. As long as I have a comfortable amount of tanks (3 or more, IMO), I still won't consider changing my country setting. The last thing I need is to get banned for no reason again.
Good news I will happily race you in mp again. . It easy to spot those who have infinite double tanks. They are the ones running them in every single TLE and every time they are in mp, I know you are anti this, so good on you for not going yo the dark side because it is far to easy to slip into that world. Many honest and talented player have fallen to the temptation.

Darn running a maxed GT500 is not going to get me anywhere for TLE's. I dropped steadily from the leaderboard and will have to used boosters to even get higher in Canada. Guess the 1.5 mil I farmed for K:1 sale will have to go to waste on the premature buying of the Biome...

A few random questions from a lurker: * Is there some trick to getting the 1:41:00 Star unboosted on Season 9, Tesla, Barcelona? My best run is half a second off and I'm not sure where I can pick that up. (Unboosted because I make too many mistakes and would just waste the few boosts that I win. ) * Anyone else playing on an iPad 2? Lately, it's been freezing up quite a bit for me (10 seconds or more, one or two times during a race; very unfortunate when it happens in Multiplayer). i just got an iPhone 6+ but my eyes are getting old and prefer the size of the iPad 2. * Is there a point to the Metal Events? They sure do look pretty but there are no Stars to win, they're very easy, and they're not the best for farming. I'm definitely not on the same level as most of you so I'm content to just collect as many stars and cars as I can without spending real money. I do enjoy reading the tips and watching the videos (Thanks!).
Now that I decided to put much more effort into doing the TLE's, I think it's so much better. It feels good to be practicing them to beat several clan members in these events. I remember when the events didn't mean much to me and I always ran out of things to do. In the USA region, I stand 5th even though several Summer/other clan members are around me. Now I'm on my way to regaining all of the extra tanks that I spent without knowing their worth! I'll be at 15 soon. Back in the day when I didn't know how useful they were, I ended up wasting all of the ones from collections

What you can do is to try and knockdown as many of the AI as possible in the beginning and throughout the course, do "wiggle drifts." Aka small drifts back and forth that don't reduce your speed that much to regain nitro. Or if you get so fed up like I did, just use a tuning kit to pass it The Metal Events are basically pointless. They're just to show off iOS's Metal graphics. I was disappointed but in order to make the overall game fair across all devices, it wasn't meant to be advantageous. Good luck! Welcome spear! I just changed from an iPad3 to Air2 and I have no freezing or lagging issues anymore. The graphics of this game are a little too big for the older iPads. No, there is absolutely no point to the metal events. If you should be in a destroying mood the metals give you a platform to live what you feel! I like your attitude, collect all the stars and make your own experiences, some things in this game have to be learned the hard way, i. e. grinding for success.
