Yeah I haven't hit anywhere near the best I can yet either, all my best laps I've either ruined in the low bridge barrel or the final corner in the tunnel. You don't go high out of the tunnel do you?

Can't wait for this bloody GTR to arrive so I can claim these upgrade rewards, keep thinking I'm gonna press it accidentally lol. Can you remember what the uk release time was last time? I have late afternoon or thereabouts in my head but can't really remember?

Watched this earlier, really great time man:)

I tried it there and only got 59:108 and it wasn't exactly a bad lap, just messed up the bridge landing slightly and a little wobble on the final turn. Previous best was 1:00:191 with no boosts at all.

Edit: wrong time posted before, gave myself an extra second off lol :)

    GTR finally out :)

Funnily enough it actually worked out cheaper to have it now with the top 500 prize from Wednesday's apex cup, than it would have to have won it in the cups a couple of weeks ago. I have around 600k change from a starting point of 3.1m so only spent approx 2.5m in total, had I won it in the cup I'd have paid 2.8-2.9m to upgrade at that time!

Looking forward to it! I should get into the 58s tonight, I'm a long way from 57 for now lol :)

I remember you saying you were maybe going to jailbreak a while ago, I assume you did it if you are now recording videos?

Edit: got my time down to 58:642 on my break there, still quite a lot to get near yours tho :)

First, welcome. Second. Using the nitro boost is not cheating. If you don't want to use it, that's fine, but you will get wrecked more often at the start. There are a ton of people who just want to kill other cars. Those are usually new players and new players use nitro less. So, if you start out front of them in equal cars, you should be OK. Another thing, most fast drivers, using nitro, actually don't want to hit you. They want to zip to the front as quickly as possible. If they hit you in the rear, they themselves might then get hit because they will slow. So, for the most part, just do perfect nitro and stay straight. Another thing to consider is that if a driver sideswipes you and kills you, that gives them a bit of extra nitro. So, say you're running SD, that extra nitro gets you to that first bottle or jump without drifting. Another technique is to sit on the brakes at the start. Let the cars go and then start.

You can do it Dave. I jailbroken my ipad already, if you want to record video you should do jailbreak your device and install Shou in Cydia.

Don't worry about the warranty because you can restore it before you send your device to apple service

The GTR's handling stat is a lie. I honestly think the mclaren turns better

Even though I never owned (and thus, never jailbroke) an iOS device, I have to agree. The golden rule with sending the devices for repairs after rooting/jailbreaking is to restore and never leave a trace of your rooting/jailbreaking stuff. Also, following trustful guides CLOSELY has never caused me any troubles. But it's understandable if you don't want to jailbreak your device: I usually wait some time before rooting, in case there's a problem with the device that involves using the warranty.

Took the advice and got the w motors lykan hypersport. I'm not a fan of the encrusted diamonds in real life, but far out looks, 8.4L, and great in-game performance. Handling has enough twitchiness to get out of traffic and boost slide >90d corners, all you have to do is collect power ups and hit ramps keeping boost around corners other cars can't turn w/o steering assisted breaking.

Far from the best in MP for several reasons, but I've ran close to 2500 races so far, and I can tell from experience, what cars I may possibly run into.
I very rarly drive a car that is not Acceleration Max, and even then I mostly choose cars that acc fast enough that I usually get bumped rather then wrecked.

Experience will also help you to find sweetspots that make it harder or at least dumber to actually try to wreck you. Mini map and/or stereo headphones may also be a tool to hear from wich side these speedmosnters approach from behind, so you can move aside just a bit.
When you do start in front, and you know you got good acc, you can even try holding nitro for like half a second, and gain just that bit more speed that may save you

One place I rarly place my car, from start or if I'm close to a competitor anywhere in a race, is on either side of the track. Running along those sides, thats the spot I get wrecked the most, and wreck the most (if I have to, its a race ofc ;) ) And this type of wrecking is less depandant on if you are on nitro or not. Push a car into a wall, and hes done for, mostly

If you actually press brakes as race start, you better know you're the faster car, because you basicly have to chase down most of the field, and its considred a real ass move tbh :p
Still, dont let anything untested in your rise to learn A8.

Yet, after all these races, I get wrecked regularly, so the advice I'd give you is; Have fun, try everything, every route and car you own. Continue to read this forum (We regularly shit on crap cars:eek: )
With time you'll find your way to master A8.

And keep in mind, the start is mostly a lottery, but you will improve your odds of surviving it with practice.

As proof of concept for my Biome upgrade setup, here's a pic of me owning a noob tanker Survolt.

W/o the tuning kit, the Survolt still stands a chance, but even a double tanked Survolt bows to this Biome equipped with a tuning kit.
Also, feels good to own a noob tanker with only a tuning kit :D

Really? I don't think the p1 can make the first couple of tight turns in san diego where you go from the left of the first ramp to the first yellow w/o drifting...i have had slight twitchiness with the handling of p1 on a few tracks, but I think overall p1 is quite smooth in handling and drifts extremely well whereas i feel the gtr to be more sharp in tight turns.I'm yet to try the gtr on other tracks though. P1 will be faster single tanked I think.especially on longer tracks.

I was hugging the walls to stay out of the way of people passing me. I think that was my biggest mistake. Thanks for all the advice everyone.

Yea, the P1 tends to be weird in tokyo and monaco.

But the GTR doesn't seem to handle anywhere near as well as the biome or furai, and both of those have the same handling stat. Maybe its the extra speed, but turning the car feels like turning a yacht (no pun intended )
