I consider MC12 the 2nd best car of the B class. Focus on the nitro and acceleration, then top speed. I don't have the GTR though, my divison was tough. That only happens when I exit the app without closing it then opening it again while the race is on.
Hey Dave, I liked F1 to the point where they were using engines that had a racing car sound! Now with the invention of the the little tiny engines, they sound like Indycar it's not the same anymore! Vettel is quite accepted in Germany but he is not that type of guy I would root for, he is more of the boring kind! Rosberg is somewhat the same and he is not German from my point of view! There will be never someone like the one and only Schumacher! He was not everybody's darling plus he was fighting hard with Coulthart, Hill and even his own teammates! No matter what Vettel and Rosberg will achieve throughout their careers they will never have the same status as MS!
As someone who never rooted for Schumacher, I'd still agree with that verdict. There was something unique about the Schumacher/Ferrari combo. He was the first successful German after a long drought, and a blue collar image like Schumacher's will always be more applealing to the average sports fan than Rosberg's cosmopolitan demeanor. Rosberg might never even reach the level of popularity his dad enjoyed in Germany during his career, even though I don't think anyone ever thought of Keke Rosberg as German. (My favorite Schumacher era driver was Mika Häkkinen, by the way. He seemed like a decent guy, and his car was partially German.)
Now you lads are talking my language. Schumacher certainly took driver performance to another level much like Lauda, Prost and Senna before him. And we've got to remember to keep Schumacher in our thoughts and prayers as he struggles to get better following his skiing accident. I also adored Keke Rosberg (one of the original 'Flying Finns,' but my all-time favorite driver is Tazio Nuvolari. Must say, though, Lewis Hamilton seems like a good sort and Jensen Button knows how to have some fun.
Having grown up with a very british tribal attitude to sports I didn't like Schumacher as I always was rooting for the Hill's, Coulthard's etc. but with hindsight I can really appreciate how much of a ruthless winner he really was. I enjoyed his comeback too even though he didn't have much success, always had an arrogance about him like no one would still be close to him if he had the car. It's tragic how he survived 20 odd years in an F1 car yet now finds himself in the state he is in after a simple skiing accident. All the money and adulation he ever gained pales into comparison with what he has lost now. Mika Häkkinen was great in interviews, some real classics on YouTube, I guess Kimi Raikkonen has kept that particular seed alive, must be a Finnish thing lol.
Dave, have you seen the old commercial (YouTube) with J.P. Montoya and Raikkonen (the "Ice Man") talking about photo copiers? Classic. And, yes, Schumacher was ruthless and very good at getting a team behind him. But he sure wasted a bit of time in the early days with Ferrari when the team was dreadful. I remember when Schumacher made his first start. Gachot was jailed and EJ gave him a go in the Jordan. Put it like seventh on the grid. Went out on the first lap or so (clutch) but a star was born that weekend at Spa-Francorchamps. And if you liked Hill, I can see why you wouldn't like Schumacher.
To be fair I was only about 10yo when Schumacher first appeared so it was pretty much just 'the British guy' I went for whoever that was at the time and for the next lot of years lol. I can vaguely remember that commercial but will look it up tonight!
I gave up watching F1 about 15 years ago, there seemed to be less and less overtaking and the commentators were reduced to getting excited about who would pitt and when:roll eyes:. It is an interesting parallel to A8 though. stage 1-all about racing stage 2-all about lap times stage3-bordem
Haha I hear ya! I actually don't watch as much as I used to, pretty much watch qualifying then the start and end of the races, plus all of the build up and any technical stuff I can find. Plus it's highlights only half the time as I'm not gonna pay sky for it and I like the bbc coverage anyway. Still haven't made my mind up on the DRS overtaking, I appreciate the old school view that it is contrived but there's no doubt it has increased overtaking massively and the 1 second window keeps it in check a little I guess. My biggest issue with it currently is the tyre and fuel management, would love to see a race where they are just flat out, that's one of the things I like about Lewis, he seems to go for it first and foremost although he is restricted like everyone else to a large extent.
Hi mate, and welcome to this most excelent thread for us A8 fans I remember getting into a tle only a few months back, and won 2 ekstra bottles without even thinking of it. As it stands now, GL has switched from halloween candy part reward system, to a hotdog without the bread nor toppings kind of birthday celebration. The 4 races since their anniversary celebration started have prices I'd compare to the trinkets and glass beads the explorers hundreds of years back traded for gold, perls, spices etc, I.E worthless Maxing cars for S9 has been one of the biggest blunders I've seen in A8 devlopment yet, and when I bring out my not boosted beloved Zonda for a race, well, I don't anymore as I find it a bit to challening to beat maxed ONE:1. Yeah, I'm happy to say I got a few fun cars yet not maxed, but some of em, well I could almost race in reverse, and still win

I don't see how it can hurt the game or GL, I think it would restore a lot of the lost enthusiasm we are all experiencing. I know for myself it would add a new fun and strategic dynamic to the game, that honestly is just missing now.
I suck at this quote thing. The post above contains a quote by Hippida, the second half is my portion.
Hi Everyone, What's your most Flat Spins in one Jump? I just hit a bus in the middle of trying to do a flat spin on the barrel roll jump over bridge in Dubai. Did 10 Flat spins, and my previous max was only 7.
My record is 14 flat spins By the way. Anybody know during how much time you can claim prizes from a event? Just Apex Wednesday will give me 8 free class A upgrades, but I don't have enough credits to take advantage of these. Also I'm really busy at this moment and can't spend time playing for earn credits. I did 1:34.248 in my first and second attempt in the cup (Yes, twice, here a video ) http://youtu.be/Bm-ivYbWbBM
Hector,I use the same control method as u. Can I know what sensitivity u used for handling the biome ??
Yup, I'm on iOS. The thing is, my Game Center is linked with the rest of my family, and the common rule is that we can only add people we know in person... sorry lol. Rules are rules. I will say that I'm currently the fastest american in the trophy cup (I don't have much of a reason to keep trying to do better) and fastest unboosted american in the apex cup (could've beaten hung's time, but I screwed up one of the flat spins and wrecked). See if you can find me
So I'm currently focused on the Road Masters Cup. Before I played it, I was like "How hard can it be? Just beat 1:25 and get 89k". But of course, the one TLE where there is no leaderboard-based rewards is on MY LEAST FAVORITE TRACK. Whenever I attempt this TLE, everything goes smoothly until I get to that stupid cave, mess up the drift leading up to the two ramps, then either hit the wall during the flat spin or miss the ramp and fall down to the longer path. Ugh. But more importantly: About that suggestion to allow us to remove and re-add upgrades, I totally agree. (even though I don't have too many maxed cars so this wouldn't affect me too much.) But I bet that you wouldn't have even thought about it if it weren't for the matchmaking in MP being completely broken. I am literally just sitting here waiting for an update to come and fix this game. I hope GL gets its priorities straight. What I mean is: -FIX THE MATCHMAKING. This has been said a million times but it's making me hate MP more than I should. How complicated is it to match players with other players that are close to their rank (close does not mean a hundred point difference, FYI) and also are in similar cars. So what this means is that a maxed Venom/Aero/One:1 is NOT being matched with maxed Corvettes, Zondas, or P1s, only the Top S Class cars (I'd say Lykan and above). About people using Low D Class cars to prey on easy targets (Serik), well, if I decide to use the ATS for some weird reason, I should be matched with players around my skill level using a car on par with the ATS. This applies to everyone and every car. This is simple. Maybe it's hard to program, but that's no excuse for giving us a dissatisfactory MP experience. -FIX D CLASS. I already did a short rant on the 'stang and how D Class TLEs are overcentralized around this IAP car. Add a new D Class car that is on par with (or better than) the Mustang, and make it available for credits (hopefully a reasonable price) Obviously, those two improvements won't make the game perfect. I'll maybe write more when I think of more things that are currently pissing me off.
lol just saw something that made me really happy on the inside. Some biome driver was in first, I'm starting somewhere near the back, and I watch as four cars just converge on the biome to take him out. Gave me a chance to win, and was nice to see the team effort
I hate that squirrel car. If I see one in MP I will go out of my way to kill it. You have to anyway because if it gets away you loose, unless of corse it decides to spin out for no reason.
While that certainly contributes to the problem, I do wish I could have certain cars back independently of any mulitplayer matchmaking context. Here are two examples I've mentioned before: In my opinion, both the Survolt and the Biome are much nicer cars with low- to mid-level upgrades. There's a smoothness to how they drive (or more realistically, how they fit my driving style YMMV) that vanishes as they reach their respective maxed states.
