You say that as if it's a bad thing. I think that's exactly what Fabien is here for — sometimes. I don't know if he's actually a developer, but he's at the same office in Barcelona. Then again, "developer" is a vague word anyway — in a context like this one, I'd usually interpret that word as synonymous with "programmer". And in huge companies like Gameloft (5,000+ employees, and its parent company, Ubisoft, is even bigger), a game's programmers most likely don't call the shots. They're basically code monkeys. If you want to complain about policy decisions, you'll have to find Gameloft's business people. And those guys will never talk to you. They have a marketing department for this exact reason, to make sure they don't have to. Real developers, on the other hand, usually take pride in talking about their work. It's a pity that Gameloft staffers themselves keep muddying the water by referring to the shot-callers as "developers". I've always wondered why they do that. Maybe it's an attempt to make the company seem smaller (and thus more likeable) than it really is. Or maybe it's just a sign of the kind of company they are — they don't care much about creating great apps, they care about business development.
You got me wrong there! You know I like unboosted races. But not in a Dart on Iceland reversed! What is it like 3 minutes? One lap!
If anyone wants to race s class I am on and would like someone to at least keep up. If anyone wants to race each other in a almost private room use the one1, as there are few out there.
Yeah it's a shame most of the prizes are pretty worthless to me, I'll have to spend a ton to make the a and s class prizes worthwhile if I make it, and the last one was b class nitro also so I have level 5 in my clk already :/ I set a 58 or 59 lol, on the bus and it's just too unsteady for the tight spots, crashing all over the place. Will get a proper run in my break in work. I'm not sure extra tank is absolutely necessary tbh maybe for first position but only 30th is needed. The glitch will be though, I figured last time it was worth at least 0.7s if not more, probably more if you can make it at top speed actually rather than brake/nitro into it.
Just wasted all my fuel on that apex cup there, crashed on every run so only sitting at 55.xxx, the final one was going ok but didn't hit the glitch right so it was just a normal crash and respawn for 55 or 56 or whatever it was. Will hopefully get down into the 51-52 range later, not gonna use a tank, think top 30 can be done without it, the nitro duration on the one:1 is excellent and you can get triple nitro for the full track in single tank except at the start.
Ohhh, I see I'm still on top of my friends list. With a Venom! Did the slow glitch on a not so good run, I think 52.5xx is what I can do! Does anyone know where the fast glitch exit point is? I seem to always miss it!
E With the amount of times you have driven that track in that car, I am expecting a very good time. I tried once but crashed into the container when attempting the short cut, and need my fuel for the zombiegrinder..
Haha I'm also expecting a good time, crappy rewards aside! Knowing I only have a few shots at it every couple of hours doesn't help, I'm used to playing it 10-20 times in a row lol. The lap I set my time on I made the shortcut perfectly, <2s air time, and crashed into the warehouse trying to keep that barrel around 1.7-1.8. Could have got a good time even with a 2-2.1 airtime on that so might play it safe for a run or two later then when I get one down without crashing I'll really push the limits of the key areas with whatever fuel I have throughout the rest of the evening. Hardest part atm is keeping the airtime on the shortcut down low, I keep going around 2.6 and it can be 1.7-1.8, I've been trying that route for weeks since the TLE as I knew you could barrel onto the ship, but I had actually given up on it as I couldn't get the drop right and started trying to do the barrel off the top ramp, which I have since found is actually impossible!
Which route do you take? Do you jump through the suspended container or drop down to the left before it and make the barrell?
Drop down. That's what I was referring to in the previous post as the shortcut. It's less air time, and I think faster speed in the air, if you can keep the air time down to around 1.8-2 seconds I'm pretty sure you'll have a much better time. I have actually managed as little as 1.75 air time flat spinning around the container somehow but it still didn't translate into much of a gain at the end.
Thanks. I thought so. I always mess that up. I don't land clean in the drop so I end up making a poor barrell and lose time. I'm going to go through the container for now. I was able to get airtime as low as 1.57, taking the bottle and tripling off the floor of the container, but its hard to do everytime properly.
It is. In fact, I entered some 10 rooms yesterday and 6 times the choice of races covered both SD/SD reverse and Dubai/Dubai reverse, on top of that the third track was usually Tokio or Nevada. I don't know about you, but I am sick tired of playing Dubai and there was plenty of SD races in TLE in the last weeks. Funnily enough, it seems that apart from complete noobs everybody else was choosing everything else BUT Dubai and SD. Even three laps in Tokio, lol. So congratulations, Gameloft, keep tweaking your algorithms in the SD/Dubai direction!
I just set a very safe 52:126 there using the high route. Strangely enough I had one shot left and went the drop down route, caught it perfect and only managed 52:3xx, although I made a mess of the beginning and missed the first yellow which meant having to spin up the first jump. Also went 2.12 air time onto the warehouse, that can be done almost half a second faster at 1.69. I'm still losing far too much time floating into the water at the glitch rather than going in at full speed, I can't seem to manage it without using drift/nitro to get turned far enough to the right, wasted loads of good laps in the one:1 cup trying it and eventually just set my time using the slower method, which ultimately cost me top 20. Without the glitch in play I reckon I could set a very good time on this map and car.
Man, chasing your Mini ghost is really frustrating During the race I get in front regularly but at the end you are always faster though for me it seems I keep almost exactly same line like yours Nice driving! Didn't have time yet to check out those S8 challenges from you...
Hey,I think its top 30 not 20. I'm traveling now so no signal for 3g. I've set a pretty poor 53:xx without the glitch. I wont get a chance to improve that. Oh well at least I'll get 2 b class nitros to max my furai . I don't know how many d and c class upgrades I've stocked ever since I maxed them all. Would be nice to have these cups every alternate Wednesdays. In place of those booster "madness" MP tles. I don't need more tanks. Seems like the more I collect them,the less I use.
I forgot about the furai, the Bs might come in handy after all, although I'll need to spend a lot to get to level 3 before using them on 4 and 5. I definitely do need more tanks, down to 13 and not doing too good at stocking up on them.
Does anyone remember this K-fee ads. Beautiful landscape, soft music, a convertible cruising some meandering road and all of a sudden some Zombie enters the frame and scares you to death?! For the first time in my A8 playtime I got disquqlified before the race even started. When the countdown finished and your supposed to launch Nos all the cars including mine exploded on the spot and went straight up in the Air. What the hell was that? Afterwards all cars where laying on the roof like roaches after being killed. Looked kind of funny! Not that it was frightening but the surprise and excitement factor were immense.
If you ever plan to use the furai in MP, i wouldn't recommend maxing it. It is a total beast (if you are skilled enough to manage the nitro duration) when you max the nitro and leave everything else at level 4. And it still provides a challenge when you face off against maxed survolts and biomes(which are usually unmaxed).
