I have gotten into some bad habits with my routes tbh, I used to only take the low route there in TLEs using 3 boosts, could never keep nitro long enough to do it in normal unboosted maps. I didn't appreciate the traffic nitro for a long time, I was just happy enough to stay as far away from the traffic as possible lol. I wish I had found this forum and the youtube videos before I completed seasons 1-8 as I basically just played for 5 stars for a very long time, didn't appreciate the finer margins and making every second count.
Same here. I started taking Asphalt seriously since the SSC Ultimate Aero Cup. Before that, I was a half-noob half-expert who only did the five star races and MP one in a while. After the cup... well things changed. Here's a video of me racing about a year ago. Yes it's painful to watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xvvYUeKCHA Edit: I would like to ask this question: How did everyone on this forum start out in Asphalt? And how did you hear about it?
I still don't really play much MP, not wild about it as I make very little credits once I buy boosts. Have been slowly chipping away at it though and am up into the high 40s level somewhere so the reward is getting greater and I might do some more of it once I finally get caught up on buying and maxing cars. I have largely done all my gaming for years on the PS3, but with the steady decline of the call of duty games and the racing being the only good part of the new GTA I decided to give the PS4 a miss for a while. I've been looking for a good all action racing game since back when burnout was still good tbh but never got anything that ticked all the boxes until now. The best bit of finding asphalt 8 for me was how random it was, I have never clicked on a sponsored link on fb since it began but for some reason the A8 one drew me to it and I gave it a blast, and have been hooked for about 4 months since
Almost a year ago I started looking for NFS for IPad, I used to play Porsche unleashed, Underground1 + 2, Most wanted, Carbon and Undercover! All I found what I thought would be to my needs was Asphalt8 haven't played any of the older versions. In the beginning I was just playing the seasons farming for stars, achievements, credits to buy cars and upgrades and my goal was 100%, I once had this status but now with the premium cars that is gone! Then I discovered events and the World Series, won lots of Double credits and had every car maxd in my garage. I thought I was pretty good and then realized the huge gap between the winners in events and my lap times. I had no idea how to collect additional Nitro and how to cut off important milliseconds. I thought top 30 must all be cheaters. I discovered the I game forums and made friends with Drake Garcia and H€IS€NBERG and worked their ghosts with was immensely helpful. In a random post I found a hint to TA forums and was quite happy to find you guys here, those who constantly play for the prizes and post low times. Apart from all the cheating, I still think this game is a great way to waste my time. At this point I like chasing ghosts unboosted, the competitions seem to be in multiaccount hands, so I don't really care!
The actual division, temple on the lovely biome ( I hate that thing), I think I pretty much now what to do except the long corner before Buddha. I have a 1:04.674 with drifting 18 meters. Every time I try to go through the corner stage 3 Nos I'm early or late and crash. I have Motor Away in my Division and he's has a 1:04.low, I think it must be possible. Any suggestions? My first races on the new IPad Air2 and it's fantastic, absolutely no lags, but somehow have to get used to the new graphic details. Next step is to connect a Controller. Is there anyone among you who uses a controller, preferably the PS3 or 4?
I think I just found it while I was browsing around the Play Store lol. I remember when I first started I spent about 20 min on that first race trying to get the Survolt but then I realized that there were classes and I couldn't use the Survolt on that Class D thing. It took me quite a while to find the cave shortcut in Iceland, I just couldn't figure out where all the AI cars were going. I had no ghosts to face off with and I still don't really like how a bunch of noobs add me on Google+. I also found this forum by pure chance loooool. Ummm, yea, I think until a little while after the China update did I start watching Asphalt 8 videos from Driver Master (where did he go???) who was on this forum. But I did win the Lykan without any external help but I had a time that would have been way outside top 2000 for iOS though . I got Asphalt 8 around the 1.1 update I think. After that I pretty much just stopped playing much, then the China update came with the daily bonus so I started playing once a day just to maximize that bonus. THen the bonus stopped coming????!!!! I don't think I've gotten a daily bonus for about 6 months now.
Randomly browsing through the Play Store. I started to play when it became free. My goal was to get the 370z maxed and grind up MP to progress in the game. I had an easy time against the Survolts with it, even though those were my first MP races (I guess playing SP does help). Then I quit because the game got boring with all that grinding and lack of fun through MP. I decided to go back to A8 to give it another try. I grinded MP with the stock Dart and R8-eTron, and it was the same thing (except when I found boosters users, and pros, like Sunshine Chen). I also did tournaments in order to get cars and I eventually got the 599XX. When it was fully maxed and ready for MP, oh man the good times. So many good racers, races were so much fun and close to the point that sheer skill made the difference. That's what got me hooked up for good to this game. I often raced many good players around (I can't count the amount of times I raced against Titus) and had fun. Since the Tuatara tournament though, everything went downhill: tournaments became stressful (I still won the car, but it was way too damn close), MP got screwed up, and other things (yeah, I'm coming with this complaint again, so what). Now I only play for car tournaments and rarely, money-grinding. I don't have the patience to grind money, and I don't think any game should put you through that, except for some secret stuff. Especially mobile games.
I have made 1:03.789 with single tank, here a video: http://youtu.be/0UsUSdNPmUg Of course it is improvable, Delorean has 1:03.591 with single tank, but he is Delorean xD
The same account has been active on Twitch as a commenter for a long time, since before Public Enemy even joined Touch Arcade, if I remember correctly. And the guy on Twitch seems to know all of us Twitch/Touch Arcade regulars. I can't prove it's him, of course, but yes, I'm pretty sure. Besides, if it were an impostor, why would he deem it necessary to insist that the cheater account belonged to a "friend"? (Later on, he dropped the charade and started talking about his "main" account vs. the one he was using on Twitch.)
You mean, in terms of Touch Arcade regulars? Motor Away and I were there, for example, and he knew who we were. But again, I knew him on Twitch before he joined this forum, and the same might be true for Motor Away. (Then again, I can't even prove Motor Away is the same person here and on Twitch. And who knows, I might not be Running_Bird on Twitch either. )
Hey guys I would like to invite you to this facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Asphalt8H/ The group will make the difference and keep a pleasant environment, so multiple accounts users or any other kind of cheating won't be allowed. Currently i am working with the rules, hope to see you there guys
Even though you addressed this to Deepbluesea, this answers all my questions. Thank you again hector! How many tries do you need to pull this off? And who the hell is Delorean? There is a guy who is constantly faster than you? Do you think the slight touch of the wall is .200 seconds?
Yeah Dave, my average for that race is between 53.9xx and 54.8xx. My 53 was magical but because I have a boosted time, it won't show. You should barrel roll on the first ramp very low staying below the road above. The only way to keep nitro is to get some near misses, then do the turn very quickly. Get some more city havok and near misses. The big jump as low as possible, 1.3-1.9 seconds air time. I always get the next blue bottle where the fork in the road is but stay on the left road. I don't triple anywhere unless I go on the higher road by mistake. Since I've played this race so many times, I can practically play it behind my back
Depends on whether I'll find someone to do no boosters races with me, like I did with Jorge recently. That was the most fun I've had on Asphalt in a long time.
I must've started in july iirc, and finding a game with almost fully 5 stars and that with several 100 voters, well it made my choice easy. As for comming here, it seems (even tho its an Ios forum) even us playing on other platforms found an awsome group of individuals with respect towards each others, great advice and fun.
Wait how was that addressed to me? He clearly quoted the DeepBlueSea guy's quote?!! Yes Delorean is really good, he tends to be anywhere from 0.6 sec to 0.2 sec faster than 2nd (I dont know why I didn't say 0.2 -0.6 lol). Also, he puts up ridiculous no booster times. Although he didn't win the Koenisegg One though... He has 1:39:3xx on the Trick or Treat cup, go compare that to your platform
