On iOS we had two MP Events, I missed the first but won it easily in the second, I cannot recall if we had a race for the best lap!
Wow, that was almost flawless, and still a little room for improvement, the last yellow bottle you shortly before reaching it ran out of nitro and were a fraction late shooting nos. Still really impressing!
Nemesis I got your mclaren 12c there, thought I had messed it up near the end with too much airtime on the final barrel then bumped the wall right at the final blue near the finish line so there's room there for you to catch me again! Gonna leave the rail bump out of it for now if you fancy sticking to that? That's a great time on the sesto you made, I've improved quite a bit but still 0.269 behind and at the minute I can't see where I'll find so much. At a guess I'm thinking you are tripling somewhere I haven't found yet, or maybe doing the whole crossover sector without breaking the nitro after each transfer, although I might be reading that wrong and the repeated triple starting boost is actually better? Maybe a bit of wiggle drift somewhere too but I have so little of the map without nitro that I'm not sure it will improve my time much. Will keep at it of course. Does anyone ever make use of bumping the wall deliberately to delay a perfect run nitro boost? I first tried it a little when playing gallardo s9 Dubai where I was wasting a perfect run shortly after the big turn and collecting the 3 bottles in it, but was running out of nitro near the end. Couldn't make much of it and ultimately found it was putting me off my stride too much so abandoned it, but recently saw a reference to it in an old open clan video comments box. Just playing sesto there on Guiana got me thinking it might help there too with the little spell I'm not on nitro. Would be interesting to know if any of you do it or is it an unnecessary complication?
I use that on Alps with less nitro effective cars, the delay gives you nitro on the way downhill to the last ramp, but if that is any helpful I don't know.
Yeah it probably is more helpful on the faster nitro burners, tho the only Alps I have played lately is the mclaren 12c and it seems to be quite efficient on nitro so I make the final run ok just by near missing some of the traffic. It might be better on slower cars too, I'll have to start trying to factor it in again. I just think it could be useful on some TLEs where the margin of victory is so small. I'm up for posting unboosted ghost times as someone suggested, although the different platforms thing might spoil it. I'm starting to get a few that I'm quite pleased with now that I'm playing for time and not stars. I can't get near my own gallardo Dubai 55.795 anymore, I played that map so many times for credits when I had hardly anything maxed, I'd be interested to know if anyone has any lower unboosted, all the faster ones on my friends list have boosts. I reckon I could beat it if I really tried now tbh, I'm not sure I take the fastest route off the first barrel and I think when I set it I still didn't understand the whole perfect/triple thing, but any time I've tried lately I'm nowhere near it. I'm a bit sick of Dubai these days after major time spent on Gallardo and more recently biome. Wish I hadn't set my biome ghost with extra tank, I think my best unboosted was 55.026, although at that time I was still using drift/nitro on the big turn, now I can pull it off at full nitro speed but haven't put the rest of the lap together properly since. Anyone in the 54s unboosted with biome? Edit: lol after all that I just got 54.939 with the biome while I was collecting my daily bonus, convinced now I can catch my extra tank time of 54.813 as I braked twice in the big turn as I made a terrible approach and had to quickly correct it. Rest of the lap was good though, again not sure about my first barrel route but got some of the other key jumps with good low air time, 1.16 back down onto the low road off the second barrel then 2.02 with the bridge landing on the big jump
Yeah I do it every time on the Furai's SDH. If I don't tap the wall, I end up getting the extra perfect run boost in midair after I jump off of the ship past the cargo boxes when it's already full and run out towards the end. But when I do, I get the boost on the very last left turn. Dang Dave, beating me in the French Guinea Sesto by .006, looks like I know what I'm doing tonight!
I see you're half a second ahead now, very nice time I was 2 seconds slower yesterday until my brother beat me by a second, it's the only car he has maxed so far. I'll need to get practicing, it has never been one of my favourites but enjoying it more now, need to figure out the start though, too much time spent with no nitro until the first barrel, there's probably up to a second in there if I can figure it out plus a few fractions elsewhere. Still need to get my biome ghost cleaned of the extra tank time tho and might do it tomorrow until my double credits runs out then I'll be back on sesto. Edit: might actually focus on the Ferrari f12berlinetta on Great Wall this week, I'm pretty poor on that map and it is going to be the map for the new savage car division cup
This community will always surprise me. A lot of people are dedicating most of their time and/or money for the One:1. There are people who have over 8000 points and we're still on day 2 If GL doesn't say they had their money back from that tournament, I'll rename them to Greedloft
I think it is possible to beat your survolt ghost Dave as I can get level with it by the first corner but Dubai is being added to my can't be bothered with tracks as the no drift thing at the first corner means I have to do a double drift to get round it which is never going to be as good. I am also playing on an iPad mini and a phone at the moment and it is really messing with my control. After playing for a year on a phone it is amazing how much easier it is to see on an iPad but the steering is weird.
Yeah I've been thinking of buying an iPad lately, figuring the larger device would allow more control. Can appreciate the problems switching it around tho, even a few % points on sensitivity takes me an hour or two to get comfortable with. My friend actually offered me his iPad air yesterday at about half the current price so he can get the new 2 version. The only thing holding me back was that I was considering going for an android tablet so I could have an account on android. Dunno what I'll do yet tbh. That survolt time def can be improved, I've kinda given up on Dubai after spending 5 hours straight playing it in the biome a few weeks back. I'm still not even sure of the best route, in TLEs where I'm boosted I take a low barrel at the start and stay on the low road, but when I'm starting with no nitro boost I'm finding to take 2 cars at the start, a near miss, blue bottle, and as low a barrel that will land me on the high road seems to work better. That way allows me to triple from the second I land up there until the big turn where the lower route is perfect nitro only and having to make more near misses. I always thought the low route was faster regardless but I always seem to set better times going the high route. I guess it comes down to minimising air time, you can keep it to around 1.5x going up and 1.1x coming back down when it goes well. Gonna stick to this Great Wall map for the next while to get some practice to try and win next weeks car, I've just missed out on most of them now for the last couple of months, was in positions 2-4 in savage roadyacht, mc12, furai and 24th last week in the one:1. The only one I haven't come close on lately that I had a good try at was the nismo where I was way down in 19th or something not great like that. Bloody determined to win one before the game is finished and the new one comes out lol! Edit: it's actually the reverse of Great Wall I struggle with, quite like the forward version so might not spend too much time on it. Saw your Bugatti time there too, that is on a map I do like so will get a blast at it after work later
I kind of have to disagree. I have tested A8 on both a tablet and a phone and I think that the phone handles better than the tablet. Then again, when you get used to one device, switching from one to another is troublesome at first.
Yeah I'm a bit torn on it, I'm very comfortable on the phone, maybe the similarity in size to a playstation controller works for me. It was the quick left then right to get around the first ramp on SDH in the one:1 that got me thinking I could maybe get more control on the larger device. That said I discovered two days ago an amateur error in my understanding of the tilt controls that I'm working on atm which might give me that extra fine level of control I've been struggling with. I do think if I end up getting a tablet I'm still leaning towards an android anyway for an account there.
finally rooted my stubborn S4 and installed fake wifi maybe i can still catch up for the one on samsung. the competition here is much weaker than on google!
I tried to test my phone with the iPad Mini and it seems that you can control the car better on the phone than the iPad
I found an interesting way to play, i was supposed to be three days without internet and thought i could play via mobile internet but that would not work. So I connected my ipad via Hotspot to my iphone 4 and have just finished three races! I was playing on 3G but with a very stable connection.
i have tried earlier to share a connection on my laptop as ad hoc wifi but apparently unrooted android cannot conect to this type of networks. I also have very good 4G LTE internet connection on my phone which is better than meny wifis, but still it's not considered as stable connection so I had to force my android to think it is wifi nother very surprising thing was that it's really hard to find any app for android which gives such functionality to simulate 3G/4G network as WIFI
There's the bug fix update for iOS. I don't know if it will fix the glitch. I'm still downloading it.
Should give up the One:1 MPTLE? I can't seem to keep up due to school, the tests I'm having, and sleep. (Basically life)
