You'll fit right in on this board and it sounds like you're a natural. If your focus is outright speed, that final second or so will haunt you. Was wondering if your "327" had anything to do with a potent little small-block V-8 from Chevy.
Cheers dude, I wish I felt more like a natural sometimes, you hit the nail on the head there with the haunting part, I feel like I hate the game most of the time but can't stop playing every time I get half a chance! I've had a lot of questions about the 327 tag over the years coz I use it for all sorts of things like poker/betting accounts, psn etc, and quite a lot have been car related and I've had a little fun with my answers from time to time. Unfortunately the boring truth is thst when I set up my first email account about 15 years ago it was the random number that Hotmail generated to let me use my real name as the original was taken....yawn lol
Btw I've been adding friends in iOS game centre all day long and still no ghosts have appeared, does anyone know how long it takes? Ninenines was telling me earlier it could take a while but that was about 6 hours ago, seems an awfully long time. The only other friend I had on it was originally activated through facebook but I've disabled it now and we're still linked through GC but none of today's new ones are showing
In my case, it's taken as long as a full month for some players' ghosts to appear in the game. Others, just a couple of days. By the way, here's my GC handle: Motor Away 4118
Well I guess that's good and bad news, at least it's not a problem with mine specifically but on the other hand a month is a bit ridiculous!
just had one of the worst (non 1st place) in mp ever. in one of the london maps; there's ramp, flat spin onto above ground road, two in a row. so i go to flat spin off the ramp for more nitro, and i SLIDE OFF the left side of the ramp into a sloppy barrel roll - crash of course; there's buildings on the left!!! they restart me an inch off the ramp and before i can do a thing, front crash into the above ground road; so thats TWO ramp crashes. i see the greens behind me, but i'm still in first. i know how im going to restart, and i triple nitro the ramp. and the windshield scrapes the under of the road -___-. so now i'm in third place with no nitro, and less than half a lap. i only made it into 2nd cause one guy crashed in front of me =_=. minus 12 points.
Yeah, that's weird. I don't remember it ever taking that long before. I added 4118 a few days ago and he's still not showing up either. I remember back in the beginning of A8 when I added Running Bird and Dark (among others), they showed up almost immediately. I guess I haven't paid close attention to it since.
In the next update, will the multi-player matchmaking system go back to the way it used to be? By that, I mean high-rated players getting matched against cars that are stronger than theirs. With my Mini-Cooper (always using the 3 boosters), I used to face these types of cars: -Citroen Survolt (rating: 1160-1205) -Nissan 370Z (1150 [maxed]) -Audi RS4 Avant (1150-1205) -Lotus Exige Roadster (1150-1205) But ever since the San Diego update and the addition of multi-player event tournaments, in regular MP I'm facing these types of cars (almost always with no boosters): -Scion (rating: 995, usually) -Camaro (1020-1050) -Nissan 370Z (1000-1027) -A few other unmaxed D-class cars, usually ranked below 1039 Most of these cars are driven by beginners, and I usually end up beating them by as much as 45-60 seconds in a 2-lap race. It's not challenging for me, and it's not fun for them to lose so badly. I really hope the development team reconsiders this change, because high-rated players should have to face tougher cars (to justify their rating). Otherwise, MP completely loses its challenging aspect, and beginners get frustrated when they get beaten so badly. I've seen some of them quit the race when they fell far behind after just 30 seconds.
Yo Dark-Zero Look at this "Dream Division"... Unbelievable! https://plus.google.com/105491821316226760247/posts/1qw4RMw4rY6
That 1:02.703 wouldn't even make the top 100 in my division. The 100th place is 1:02.0xx here. For the next divisional tournament, I wonder if I'm better off playing 15 minutes before it closes...
I like it the way it is. Sure, if you use boosts you're going to blow everyone away with the Mini, but unboosted you get some decent competition. Since I almost never run MP with boosts (unless I have some leftover time on them from TLE's), the Mini is a fun, competitive car with what it gets matched up against. There are a lot of quality players that run the Mini in MP, so you don't just get matched up against noobs.
Multi player should be about the best drivers having to race against drivers that are of near equivalent ability as them selves in order to prove who is best. Unfortunately it is about who plays the most or who finds a slot where they are unbeatable.
Wow, that's a stout division you're in. 1:02:7xx would be good for two extra tanks in mine at 12th place. 15 minutes before closing might work, but you also might get stuck with a bunch of quality racers thinking the same, and you leave yourself no time to improve if someone is ahead of you.
Man I'm so tired of these clans. I've been sitting at 30th place in my division for two days waiting to see what the top time was and hopefully beat it in the last few hours. Some open guy had a time of 59.7 s for the two day period. I finally decide to use the double tank today, beat his time after several (many) goes manage to get 59.5's but what do I see an hour later this guy has a time of 59.3s. This exact same thing happened to me for the roadyacht, its like these guys are there just sitting and waiting for me to beat their time then better mine.
As someone who doesn't use boosts in MP, the most frustrating thing for me is that you lose points when you finish behind an equally ranked player using the same car who is also boosted up. That's stupid. I just lost 3 points in a race where a player ranked 100 points higher than me beat me by 4 seconds in a 2 lap race with the NS/TK/DT all active. Take those boosts away and I probably would've smoked him.
Poor Gameloft. A lot of us have asked them to limit car rank differences to reasonable levels, and judging from what I've read here, they finally did. But you can only make some of the people happy some of the time in this case, Motor Away got the short end of the stick, apparently. Anyway, what's the verdict on multiplayer these days? Is it worth making a comeback for someone in my position? Is a double-boosted McLaren 12C viable with the new and improved matching algorithm? I don't even want to gain more world series points, I just don't want to lose too many. Ideally, I'd be able to get back to my four threes at the end of each multiplayer session.
