Fabien, that picture I included with my tournament suggestion is actually Public Enemy's Facebook profile pic, and I just did it as a joke. I had told him that I would use that pic for the tournament banner, but I had no intention of it being actually used for that purpose. I don't actually have any high-resolution pictures of myself currently, and don't even own a camera so that I can take one. I guess a normal "community cup" banner will have to do, since any other ideas that I could propose are probably tied up in copyright issues. Of course, if Public Enemy does want his picture to be used for this cup, then he is free to send Fabien a more high-res picture. He's kind of the official community representative (i.e. the top TA player) around here anyway. EDIT: I just spoke to PE on Facebook, and he's okay with being the official face of the tournament. So we've narrowed it down to 2 choices: 1. Public Enemy 2. The Smokin' Chickenfish Thank you!
Noticing something interesting in MP today that I have never seen. Running the Mini, and have seen three folks disconnected at the end of the match. That isn't strange in and of itself, but these players have been running triple boosted and usually over 2,000 rank. The other things they have in common are "questionable" screen names — those sometimes affiliated with clans, etc. Typically, these players don't just quit and take a 10-point hit, unless they know finishing will cost them more points. That's just not the case here. I'm running a totally bare Mini with zero boost and would be toast usually, so why would they willingly bail. Could be GL Police Dept. (a weak nod to the "Overdrive" deal).
Just don't go in too deep and wide before initializing your drift, practice in "Solo" mode, and you'll find the sweet spot. And in MP you don't always have to worry about taking the "shortcut." The wider route is nearly equal if you're looking to avoid potential headache.
MP stability has been terrible as of late. It could just be that they're experiencing a "request tim[ing] out" or losing connection to the server. At least I'm not the only one that it's been happening to.
Tsk, I have 2 Chinese guys on my division who made a time of 1.03.9xx on the MC12 tournament. I declare this event unwinnable
Dunno. I saw an Elite member do a 1.04.4xx (easy to see it as legit, harder when you think about it). How about the other leaderboards?
Yeah, seriously. It currently takes a 1:00.6 in my division to even finish in the top 25 and win the 2 extra tanks. I'm never playing immediately at the start of a division cup ever again.
Considering those 1:03s beat Public Enemy's time in the tournament by over 2 seconds, I would lean towards cheaters.
Yeah, that's a crazy difference. I was at 1:03:6xx without any boosts, and that would be 29th in my division. With the tuning kit and double tank I moved up to 3rd at 1:00:662, behind an Open and a Summer member, and now Turbo has moved ahead of me with a 1:00:543, so I'm in 4th.
To everyone wondering about the San Diego Harbor reverse, here is the trick/glitch: After the sharp turn, jump into the water (either left or right) on the ramp before the factory. You'll be recovered inside of the next battle ship. Though you end up with only half top speed, this is much further than it should be. This is how those 1:03s are done. Still 3 hours to go, good luck guys! If needed, I'll upload a video later. Edit: here is the video http://youtu.be/CPkxQKZpEb0. It is very unfair and a shame that only a limited number of people taking advantage of this trick. And it is a glitch after all. Hope Gameloft will fix it soon.
