Of course I know there's multiplayer. And I like multiplayer. Not sure about repeat winnings scaling up that steeply, though - I haven't tried multiplayer for a bit but Season 4, certainly, even getting a five-star result second time around seems to net you... what, a third of what it first paid out? If that? Correct me if I'm wrong by all means, but I didn't see anything to make me go "Aha, so that's what I'm supposed to be doing!"
Funny that you should mention it, since not everyone can play the online multiplayer to get extra cash...
Afair it's not "4 barrel rolls in one jump" but "4 barrel jumps in one race". Correct me if I'm wrong. I have no problem with "no wrecks". It's the same as in A7 btw. and there it was called "Lackpflege" (in my German edition). I remember pretty well that I didn't like that in the Furious Five racing game by Gameloft (seems it was the same software engine and partly the same tracks as in Asphalt). You had to drift all the way. In Asphalt it's just one challenge among tons of others which resemble more to a war game. Sorry but it's not a rational objection but your subjective view. It's almost on top of my list with the best racers of all times. Enjoying it since PS1. It could become very dangerous for Asphalt's pole position (in my personal rankings) if there would be a modern iOS wipEout version. The creator/dev of the Universal App Table Top Racing was/is in the wipEout team and he said here @ tA if TTR makes nuff money he could think about something like an iOS wipEout. wipEout Fury trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGNbrQM5e54 …very dangerous, Asphalt/Gameloft!
There are later optional stars for getting multiple spins or rolls off a single jump. Also, rational objection, as in I can calmly and clearly explain in plain and simple language that I just don't find something about a game particularly fun, full stop, and that it feels to me as if the game places a bit too much weight on those things I don't like, because I am rapidly reaching a point where I have to do those things to keep going, and if Gameloft had changed that just a little then people who like those things could still enjoy the game and I could enjoy it more without having to force myself to do things I don't consider any fun to progress. But then of course you just come right back w
I'm with you. I am into season 5 and you definitely reach a point where it's hard to find a way to progress without grinding out a new car. And it's pretty hard to generate more money when you've already gotten the stars. I have some races now where I can race almost flawlessly and I come in last by a long way because my car is just completely underpowered. But, for 99 cents I've already gotten my money's worth and then some.
For the guys that have trouble in the gate drift events: Trolololololol Also, something I noticed that sucks is that when you complete an achivement offline it won't appear when you go back online. I played while at my brothers doctor appointment (no wifi), and I got 30 stars, bringing my total to 105 stars. However when I go back home to the wifi I don't have the a chimney in Game Center.
Wow, I want to play Monaco, got busy going to some parties so didn't get a chance to play this weekend, but something to look forward to.
It's just the same map as from Asphalt 6 or 7 (I honestly can't remember anymore)... In other words: Hardly any short cuts, no cool jumps and lots of long and fairly straight parts with hardly any Nitro bottles to pick up.
I have a question about multiplayer. I jut played my first game, classic on Barcelona. I used the Citroën Survolt and I got first place. However I only made 500 coins, less then I would've made replaying a race. Also I only gained 130 XP, and I still have 50 XP till level 2. However in the lobby one of the players was level 1000 something. How was he able to rank up so fast, and how can I make more money in multiplayer? On and come at me killjoy
The Nissan GT-R is my favourite car. It dominates. I need two more cars then I could probably steamroll right through. I need the Ferrari FXX Evoluzione and Mclaren Spyder. Once I have those two cars well, I won't have to buy anymore for quite sometime. I'll grind for a game if it's worth grinding for. A8 is only a buck and the IAP system is fair, but could be improved, but if this was 7 dollars with an IAP system like this, well then it'd be different
Asphalt 6: Adrenaline. I checked it right now. (A6 still residents on my iPad 1.) Even the nitro bottles are on the same places (nuff of em). The other traffic is different. No more yellow double arrow signs. In better words: The Monaco Grand Prix (French: Grand Prix de Monaco) is a Formula One motor race held each year on the Circuit de Monaco. Run since 1929, it is widely considered to be one of the most important and prestigious automobile races in the world, alongside the Indianapolis 500, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The circuit has been called "an exceptional location of glamour and prestige." The race is held on a narrow course laid out in the streets of Monaco, with many elevation changes and tight corners as well as a tunnel, making it one of the most demanding tracks in Formula One. In spite of the relatively low average speeds, it is a dangerous place to race. It is the only Grand Prix that does not adhere to the FIA's mandated 305 kilometres (190 mi) minimum race distance. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monaco_Grand_Prix The only A8 track where we have a map (okay—sort of…):

Drifting is easy, a litte different than A7 though. Just let go of the wheel and wait a few seconds if you want to stop drifting. Drifting is fun though.
Is it confirmed that you're matched with fellow players around your own car rank in MP? I'm pretty sure this is the case; in the half a dozen times I've done an online game everyone was about +/- 150 car value/points of my own. Also, cash payout seems to vary wildly. He's currently in a well deserved timeout. Again.
Can anyone tell me if this has smooth performance on iPod Touch 5? I tried browsing the middle of the thread for around 20 pages but found no answer. I found a youtube video, the performance seems to stutter a little bit, like it's loading.
Just a quick point on the comparisons to payouts in A7 that have gone on. The payouts were much bigger in A7. As were the cost of the cars, three to four times more expensive. That cars in this one are substantially cheaper. I mean, come on, the Veneno is only 32,000. If you can't earn that, well, then racing games are just not for you (that's not an insult to anyone, its just that amount is extremely easy to earn if you unlock the series's by earning stars and play them). Unlocking stars can be done as easily as aiming for the bonus stars in a race rather than the outright win and then coming back for the place position. You'll always earn star and cash playing that way. Yes, of course in A7, it was easy to earn and buy all the cars in one playthrough all the same. That, however, was not an incentive to keep playing. I'm in series 7 with 21 cars now and although you won't get the full 10,000 in a race that you've already five starred each time you race it afterwards, but you will get 3000 or so. Which surely is enough if the Veneno is 32,000. You can't really expect to get the star bonus each time. Their purpose is as a bonus for getting them. And I know people will now say grind 10 times to get it but that's not simply the case. Going back over a race to get the sweet spot is useful for later races. And still fun. The game is much more well balanced than A7 because that one was simply too easy and lacked challenge. It isn't the case with this one. You do have to think about your purchases and purchase wisely. Its also not a complete doddle to get around and win and five star each race first time. Surely that's a good thing? Are games not meant to be challenging? Is it such a bad thing when a developer throws off the "casual" "ten minute play" mobile shackles and attempts to build in replayability? Or challenge? I've seen many complaints about games lacking depth becuae they had none of those attributes. You're have to start looking at the game differently to A7. There is more design in this to make it more complete and less of a mobile throwaway. The replayabilty is built in as is the challenge. If that's not what you want, there's plenty casual throwaways out there. I mean even at series 7 with no iap and 21 cars, I've still put 20 hours into this and none of that has been grinding and very little multiplayer. I'm not really sure if I can ask for greater value for money than that. Note. This is not a "fanboy" statement. Its just that I can see the underlying mechanics of the game and longevity was the target, not iap. If you don't want the longevity, iap will sort that out for ya. But if you want a game to come back to, this will have something for you to come back for. Be it another car or five stars. Note 2. I must apologise for the rambling in there. My normal organisational structure got away from me a bit. It'll probably make sense on a second read through. Glad I never applied for that journo job
Very nice playlist on Spotify! I know what I'm listening to today at work First I'm hearing of this, but I'll definitely pass it along to see if anything can be done. I was unaware this wasn't available. I'll have to ask people to see if this was intended for performance reasons at the moment or if it's a bug. EDIT: This has been reflected on the App Store descriptions so buyers with iPod 4 and iPhone 4 will be able to see that this feature isn't available now. More cars are definitely coming.
...well you're using a mini cooper. The only acceptable time to ever use one of those is if it's the only car available, or if the event forces you to use it. But since that event is neither of those things, I'm afraid we have to suspend your man-card.
