Did you stay up for the cup yesterday? So sorry to see that you did not get it.

It is 3 fuels this time and I think the chance is very slim to win without spending money on fuels.

I guess Gameloft is exhilarated now and very proud of itself for this "innovation"

I doubt that. They said in my TLE proposal that they couldn't limit reward to certain players (If I get it correctly).
In any case, I don't think a lot of these guys with the car would go through the pain again.

The new players already in the 2,000s got lucky and had full fuel tanks as soon as the tourney started. Me, and my unlucky nature, wasted my bar on the other tournament. So I had to wait 1 hour 40 for my first runs. I got 1,100 on my 3 runs so 2,000 isn't unreasonable.

Yeah, I finished it. I knew I wasn't going to win the car, so it's no big deal. I took multiple 8 hour periods off during the course of it, so the only way I was going to be able to get up to the top 50 was paying. I raced it out for fun and to secure top 250. I actually really like Dubai Reverse, and racing equal cars on it was fun. Thanks to hector's route, I really enjoyed it without paying a penny.

As for this cup, 3 fuel changes the dynamics greatly. Instead of getting 5 plays for a full bar, you get 3, with another one 20 minutes away. Also, when you buy a refill, you're throwing away 10 minutes of fuel every time (though I suppose you could go blow that 1 extra fuel bar on whatever daily cup is happening before buying).

GL will tweak this format until they find the sweet money making spot. We're still in the testing phase right now. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a 10 fuel cost for MPTLE in the future, just to spread it out and give the fuel refill buyers a greater advantage. I hope they test that on Iceland so I can not care if I skip it.

Please do. I'm curious to see how you bypass the cars at the front.
Also, I second place with the first place guy at 1.06.687, ad I'd like to earn this car

I guess one of the most shameless ways for them to do this is to make a 1 day (or even shorter) MP TLE that costs 5 fuels...

Yup but I'm second guessing it now. I am infuriated right now. Words can not describe the anger that this bs that happens to me in this damn game causes me. On my second bar, first race, I win. Second race, I'm in first about to easily get the win then for some reason the big ramp over the water decides to 1.5 barrel roll me (I do the same damn spin every time) which makes me end up wrecked (I got 6th ing place). Third race, on the first turn a guy hits the back of my car , which didn't allow me the turn the way I wanted to, wrecked (4th place; and the guy who screwed me wrecked aswell, idiot driver man). This is bullshit. Times like this piss me off extremely bad.

For those of you who are top players, if you stay committed during the daytime from the very beginning and follow the above advice, you do have a chance to win without staying up all night or spending money (although your coworkers/teachers may wonder why you are getting up to poop exactly every hour-and-forty-minutes).

For those of you who are (like me) upper-middle-class players in terms of skill, you will either need to race at night or spend about $5.

If you are going to use a couple refuels, decide your limit ahead of time so you can decide rationally what amount is ok with you before GL's TLE system coerces you into an emotional decision. Whatever you decide is your limit, use all but one of them back-to-back (with a noob tank if you still have any left from the collections rewards), and save the last one for the very end.

All of that is just imho. Just trying to be helpful.

Hey dark you just beat me a few mins ago. It's easy to get wrecked by bad drivers but it the same for everyone. I nearly lost it earlier today as every time I hit someone when I was the faster car it was me who got knocked down , even when I had them pinned to the wall. Also why am I almost never on pole?

Was it because of the slight difference in the angle/fly off?
I dislike doing Barrel roll, i prefer Flat spin but most of the time it took much time to blast off. Well, isnt it the same to compare those drivers to AIs?

    Because ur too good:D

Must have been my first game. When I win, I leave the lobby almost immediately so sorry I didn't notice.

Yeah, bad drivers have had their fair share of turns with me over my time playing this game.
Had to be. I do low barrel rolls that are money 100% of the time (that I've used this car). The barrel roll is faster than flat spin. I only flat spin in tourneys like the newer car ones (the past update). But yeah, those drivers are basically the equivalent of haywire AI cars.
Why didn't any of you pick a car I don't have? Like the C-X75 or the SLS Final Edition? Geez lol

For those of you going after the Onyx this time around, I suggest hector's route. If you can get around the curve, drop down, and then land the spin jump unscathed and grab the two blue bottles, you will be in great position. If you do it with a nitro starter and keep it clean, you're basically unbeatable. You may still run into some opposition when you meet back up with the high route, but you'll have the nitro advantage to the barrel roll shortcut which will give you the edge.

Hope you don't mind if I re-post your vid from earlier in the thread, hector.

hector's Dubai Reverse Jag F-Type route...

    Onyx Upgrades

Here's my public service for the week...

Attached are the upgrading numbers for the Onyx so you can decide how you want to rock out:

fyi: while using nitro, a "L6" Onyx tops out at 302mph

also fyi: at max handling, the Onyx turns corners like a Sesto – personally, I think the Onyx handles better than the Hennessy. They both take corners like a champ, but the Onyx feels steadier when straightening back out.

Overall, the Onyx accelerates like the Hennessy, runs at top speed like a slightly buffed up Bugatti, handles like the Sesto, and nitros like the Tautara. Those aren't exact comparisons, obviously, but just to give a rough idea. I could see it beating a Lykan in places with tight corners like Dubai or Venice, or Tokyo where there is that long stretch with no nitro bottles.

I'd love to see two good players go head-to-head Lykan vs. Onyx on the SD track. Would be fun to watch.

I understand that you want to help, and I'm not criticizing you. The problem is what I put on bold letters in your comment. It takes time to get back up to the top, and that's what most of us can't afford to spend. I dunno about the others, but I have better things to do than keep focusing on a game. This is a personal decision in the end, but there's quite some people that will agree with me. Same for the money thing.
This is what I will hate for the tournament: you have to give away everything just for a car. You have give time, money and mind for a few tidbits of data. Even though I am a completionist at times, I play games for fun, and losing a lot of time just to be the best on a game isn't what I find fun.

Yes, the marriage between this car and that ramp is random at best. Also, this car on this track doesn't let you really get out and race. You pick a route, try not to crash, finish. San Diego featured more nose-to-tail and side-by-side racing and you could maneuver. This one is much more of a crap shoot.
