Trust us, you'll be disappointed by the agera. It's nitro is absolute crap, which detracts a ton from its acceleration. I remember being sorely disappointed after purchasing it because of how slow it is to reach its top speed
That's disappointing. It shouldn't run like that on that fine new piece of tech you have. Have you tried all the regular troubleshooting steps (device hard restart, reinstall A8, etc.)?
Yeah, it was a necessary car back in the beginning because there was nothing that even came close to its top speed, but with all the new car additions in S Class, the Agera is a clunker now. Really, the only reason to have it is to complete the star collection in the seasons. I can't even remember the last time I used it in a TLE.
Exactly. And from what I read here from you guys how this MPTLE works, I'll bet GL already made much more money on the Onyx than on any other premium car, with all those crazy people grinding lol. Oh and I was really shocked this morning when I saw hector out of top10 with his time in SLS cup
They're definitely making some money on the MP TLE's, but I do wonder how it compares to the timed events that also reward cars. The timed events cost 5+ fuel each attempt, and any chance of winning requires the double tank along with the credit purchasable boosts. In the MP TLE's, it is possible to win the car without spending any real money, or even using any boosts/fuel refills. Granted, it pretty much requires you to play nonstop from the time the event begins, and that's not possible for most people. Anyone who has to sleep, work, go to school, spend time with family, etc., has to spend money on fuel refills to compete. The other thing about the MP TLE's is that people who don't get started early basically say screw it, and don't participate (at least, that's what happened based on what I saw from my A8 friends). It doesn't matter when you start the timed events (well, it does in the divisional events, but that's more luck than anything), because all you need is that one perfect run to win. That probably encourages a lot more people to buy the IAP double tanks to give it a go. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I doubt GL is really cleaning up off of these MP TLE's due to the fact that many just skip the event, and the number of players who can really benefit from the fuel refills and would also be encouraged to buy them are those who are trying to hold onto their position down the stretch, or those close to catching them. I'm sure some people use it at other times sporadically through the event, but the deadline is when people start forcing the issue, and there just aren't that many players positioned to go for it down to the wire. One thing is for sure. We'll find out how profitable it was based on how many of these type events we see going forward.
Well, I'm done trying to win that car, as it's now mathematically impossible for me to finish in the top 50, even if I were to win every single race I have left (and for which I'm getting a measly 13 points now ). I had no idea so many players would be willing to pay for numerous bar refills. Heck, Chet Manly, who definitely bought some refills a few hours ago, is about to drop out of the top 50. This event is almost literally about who throws the most dollars into Gameloft's coffers. So you bought five dollars' worth of refills and thought that would be enough to get you the Onyx? Too bad. Some people didn't mind dropping $25...
Heisenberg has definitely been dropping some cash. I passed him for a few minutes right around 100th place about 4 hours ago. Now he's 23rd. I've moved up about a dozen spots just playing my free fuel since then, he's moved 80.
That's why I stated GL must get lots of money from it. Very few players can play all day and night so almost every one who want's to compete must pay for fuel. And apparently the competition is very tough which means lot of folks pays to play. In normal TLE you have limited runs but do not have to grind like crazy like in MP TLE, all you need is one perfect run.
Does anyone know how the calculations of points for positions in the race work 1st,2nd, 3rd etc for the peugeot cup, I can't see the pattern. Just went from 390 position to 210 but have no idea how this scoring system works as yet, driving blind.
You might be right. There are definitely some people out there buying fuel refills in mass. That may make up for the fact that there are far fewer players with the motivation to spend money to compete throughout the duration of the event. I get the feeling that most people who are buying fuel are just grinding regularly from the start of the event on the free fuel to keep pace, and then buying the refills as the event nears the end to secure their spot. But I really don't know. That's basically what I did, except I didn't/won't buy any refills. I definitely could've spent $10-20 tonight and worked my way into the top 50 had I chosen to do so. Like I said, we'll know how profitable they are based on how many we see going forward. They've probably got a few more planned already, but if they're not making money off of them, we might not see them as often after that.
There's gotta be a formula to it, but nobody here has figured it out (or posted it, at least). After two full events, I still have no idea if you get better rewarded for faster times, or beating higher ranked opponents, or both, or neither. The only thing I'm certain of is that the closer you get to the top of the leaderboard, the fewer points you get for being successful in a race.
That's why I never participated in that event. I only tried it once to get the free 10k credits. I'm watching him carefully. I still have 1 extra tank left.
The leader boards dominance by clan members has gone though. This makes me think that it is now rich trustafarian wasters that can dominate the board. No need for sleep and pay to win. I am sure the clans will have the cars anyway but the mp TLE doesn't give them any advantage. It would be great if we could get our days allowance of fuel in one lump, say 70 bars and once you used them up you would have to sit and watch you lead go down or buy more fuel. At least I wouldn't have to sneak off every 100 mins, from whatever I am supposed to be doing to play in order to be in with a chance. This would help remove the unfairness in the timing of when the cups start. The latest one ment that I missed out on the first 12 hours which ment I never had a chance. The first one I was on it straight away so got within the top 50. People would be more inclined to get involved if they thought they could catch up but on the downside it would encourage the use of double tanks which is thankfully rare in these tourneys.
Yep, there are a lot of inequalities with these events and some tweaks are probably needed. GL will analyze the bottom line and then get back to us.
