Yes, it's very possible to make the sharp turn by going right. Even with a car that has 1.200 handling, but you might have to double drift. Always take the barrel roll ramp jump that goes over the water/bridge. Here's a video of Public Enemy driving in Dubai, fastest route and almost perfect run. http://youtu.be/lOsNIFn-IQs Uh.. I have no idea how to make a link, lol
It is possible with 2 or 3 knock downs and barrel roll. Also, to get more nitro, I have made flat spins on big ramp (over high road). With these tricks I have made 58.547 with all boosters Edit: I have improved to 58.408, uploading
Fabien, you once told me to send you a snapshot about clans making their usernames as ads for their account selling. Here is the most recent one from the Onyx cup (see the second place). This is so far the only Open account in top 50 (who would get a Onyx) and only 16 hours to go. Let's wait and see how many of them will actually have the car later on. LOL Hope you don't ignore this post...
This is what I do you should avoid the aquarium if you're trying to get the best route. I just do a hard turn and boost for a second to regain stability.
Question: Please correct me if I'm wrong. Since Gameloft stores how many fuels a player has in the cloud, why don't they just do the same for free boosts as well? This would certainly ban people from recycling their free boosts (especially extra tank) using backup files.
Even though I don't like venting about this game I have to this time. It s more so a problem unrelated to the game but happened during the game when I played earlier. So pretty much my chances to get the Onyx are done. Earlier this morning, I was a round 500-400 rank in the tourney (I even played on my break just to keep up, which is my first time ever). So my plan was that when I got off work, I would use a full bar, use another once it refuels, go to sleep, wake up and use a full bar, use another one, go to sleep again for work, wake up and play another bar before work. Then hopefully two more bars before the tournament ended. But that didn't happen because as soon as I got home after work, my connection was extremely bad (I got knocked out of every race. I could use internet perfectly for about a min before it would stop working). So I didn't get to play till now, after I woke up. After winning mostly every race (lost a race to a KB and then a Open, who both spawned in front of me with extra tank and ranked in the 8,000s). When I just finished playing, I ended up in the 600s rank, way below what I was earlier. If I would have gotten those 10 chances to race, I would be atleast top 250. Now I just wasted my time grinding the cup (with the exception of the first 12 hours or so, because work) only to end up short. I'm not sure why my luck on this game is so bad recently but I try to stay optimistic about everything.
Are you sure you checked your updated ranking before starting to play? Sometimes, it takes a bit to re-boot and show your actual spot because after just about every prolonged break from playing, you fall down the order. It's rare to stop, open it back up and be the same rank you were when you stopped. Compared to the four-day event, this one is a sprint and I'm certain some players are playing pretty-much straight. And that there is a car up for grabs, I'd assume there's a substantial amount of people gunning for the top 50. You might still be able to crack the top 250. You might need to play every 90 minutes up until four hours before the MPTLE ends — with two or three extra fuel refills squeezed in. The last four hours, you might have to play and watch the leaderboard non-stop
I think my chances at the Onyx are pretty slim now as well. I had gotten up to 84th place last night, but had to sleep a little. Took a 4 hour slumber, woke up to 190th place. I've played 7 races since waking back up and gotten back to 132nd place, but I'm still 500+ points behind top 50. With all the people grinding it out, I doubt I can make up that much ground before the deadline without buying fuel refills.
I got inside the top 100 today from a start this morning of 450. I am not going to get up in the middle of the night to try and win a car. It's irresponsible of GL to encourage people to do this. Just give everyone a 24 hour fuel allowance and let us fit in our leisure time around our real lives.
I know on iPhone 4s, something similar happens when the device heats up too much to keep it from frying itself
They're taking our fun, then our money, then our time. Will they dare to take our freedom? But, things aside, those kinds of tournaments are inevitably unwinnable for a few reasons: 1: You have to dedicate a lot of time to these, and it's not granted to everyone. In my case, I have quite some time to waste, but I don't want to spend it that way. Plus I have uni and stuff, so my time is even more reduced. 2: Cloud and accounts are easily abusable. Here's how: you could hire people from around the world to use one single account. People take turns grinding points. That way, you could fuel to its fullest extent. Plus, you can use one extra device that will not participate, and refill your boosters by making that device override the cloud save, then all other devices just have to use the new cloud save data. Before, use the extra device (no boosters needed) to make that device's participation count, and transmit that data to all other devices. Abuse cloud one more time to transfer won car files to everyone's original account. On a random note, maybe they've planned this from the beginning: take our sleep, so we wouldn't be able to think and spend money while day-dreaming
Mmmm.... These are the wins that are most satisfying, when everyone else in the race is boosting and you're not.
I'm not saying the system is right or wrong, but that's the system. If you want to play to reach a goal, you've got to be willing to go beyond what others are willing to do to go after the same goal. Right now, a lot of people want to hit the 50 or 250 mark and they are willing to play just about nonstop be that alone or two people sharing an account/device (like co-drivers). For this MPTLE, you have to find the sweet spot that moves the needle the spot in your playing that moves you up the board. That could be two, three or more straight five-race sessions followed by regular grinds. Then you have to ask yourself if that's what you want to do. For me, this car, and track don't inspire me to make a run. This Dubai course is a bore and the car is too big for it. Feels too fake.
To be fair, whether or not you're using a booster, if you start the race in the very back, then it's much harder to tightly navigate around that big early curve, because you have to deal with numerous cars ahead of you also turning/trying to push you off the shelf. The previous TLE in San Diego presented similar a problem; it was hard to make that early left turn when you had opponents literally pushing you towards the right. The next MP TLE should be set in Monaco, with a slower car. Let's see how these constant grinders deal with drift management. Also, the opening portion of the course is much more fair to everyone, especially those starting in the back.
Starting at the front seems to be much more of an advantage on Dubai reverse than it was on SD. The curve helps that, but it's also much wider which allows you to avoid the nitro starters coming from behind with more success. San Diego bottlenecks right at the point where the nitro starters are catching and passing the front cars, so it was easy picking for them to plow through you. I pretty much always start in the front on one side or the other, and I've found that heading to the outside on Dubai reverse (sidewalk on the left, through the pots on the right) is usually successful in avoiding the nitro starters' mayhem. After they get by, you can hug the curve and drop down to the bottom level. Once you're down there, it's usually pretty clean racing, though sometimes there's a second congestion where the high and low routes meet back up before the barrel over the water.
Ugh, I've got 8227 points and I'm currently in 75th position. There isn't much activity going on from the players ahead of me, and I think I can make it if I keep playing and playing. Good thing I'm still in university and don't need to get up for work tomorrow morning, because I think I'm about to try my first A8 all-nighter (well, watching a few movies while I wait for the fuel bar to fill up). Chet, exactly how many fuel bar refills did you purchase? You were behind me a few hours ago, but now you're in the top 50 with over 8400 points.
