6 fuel for the Maserati MC12?!? Pathetic. Now you can't even do 2 races back to back, you have to wait ten minutes in between. Plus, you can't get as many double tank runs anymore. Screw you, GL. Total BS. Five fuel was too much already.
Very impressive. I played a lot on Wednesday and Thursday hoping to be in the first 10 and was at position 8 at one point but lost motivation when every morning I wake up to find myself a 100 positions behind. I winded up at about 250. I think the interesting thing is that when I started playing on Wednesday with a stock McLaren P1, I'd get easy opponents and about 100 points per win. But as I accumulated credits and maxed out the P1, I'd get harder opponents and would be unable to win unless I used tuning kit and nitro starter. I'd also only get 10-15 points per win and 2-3 points if I get knocked out at the beginning and don't make it to the top three. Also, the Sestos are irritating. They can almost always accelerate faster than the P1 but I know that they probably can't beat the P1 overall. I'm trying to figure out which is best out of Sesto/LaFerrari/P1 for TLE's.
So I suppose the strategy for multiplayer TLE's is to not race at all until a few hours before it ends and then play catch up.
Not in my opinion. Someone will be watching you and then keep pace. When you get to first or second place (or not many points behind the leader) you'll start being scored like the leader. Down the stretch, I was getting two points for a win, sometimes one. And if you try to play catch up late, you'll have to spend money on fuel bars — perhaps more than someone grinding over four days. But if another driver pushes you, you will have to spend money on fuel bar. I discovered an iTunes card in my bag, which came in handy. That was the first time I had ever spent a penny on A8. Hated to do it, but wouldn't have won otherwise. Dudes chasing me were spending.
A TIP in San Diego Harbor Reverse... Always choose left in a bifurcation or path! Always... Simple like that!
You spent some form of currency on an event, so it's proof that Gameloft's plan worked. With these new multiplayer events, they definitely want to make players invest a lot more time; it makes people more likely to spend money because of all the work that they've already put in. Whereas a leaderboard based only on the fastest times creates almost no investment at all; if you just aren't able to challenge the fastest times after dozens of tries, there's no point in spending money/iTune credits for more futile attempts. The only good thing about this new mode is that the leaderboards are no longer filled with Open/k-b/Sky/Summer members. I had lost all motivation for this cup by last night (especially when I went from 21st place to 680th in the span of half a day), and ended up finishing in the mid-to-high 200s.
I think I did. I was thinking "Who is this man?" but then I saw your name. First time racing you, wrecking everyone...literally.
If this isn't a joke, and I don't think it is because I saw parked cars on the grid and then near the finish once or twice, you will be the most disliked person this message board has ever known. It's just lame beyond description.
GL, you should put this in the game to go along with the "future cars" concept. Maybe make Android and Windows counterparts.
I think you're still under the daze that comes with playing probably over 30 hours' worth of Asphalt 8 in less than 4 days.
Yes someone did exactly that to me. I had just overtaken open two boxes in purple who was triple boosted and at the front of the grid, on the final corner and was feeling the joy until I hit some ####ing noob troll blocking the gap by the barrel at the end. I wasn't pleased to say the least. I came 142 and found it hard to get back into the top 100 on the last day. I still don't get the points system but as it became bunched up in the last 200 it became normal to win less than 10 for coming first. People were either hacking or spending in the last few hours as they seemed to be continuously playing.
Congrats on winning the tournament, 2621! And I guess I should clear up a misconception: If you're trying to actually win, then catching up late won't work. Then again, if most of the top 10 spent real money, like you said, then those events are unwinnable anyway, at least in my book. However, if all you're trying to do is get some of the booster rewards, which is what I was doing, then I do think that catching up is a viable strategy. Well, aren't you lucky. I ran unboosted most of the time, and I got paired up with triple-boosted cars all the time. And that's not necessarily a bad thing if you win, you get tons of points. And if you finish 4th or something like that, you still get a decent amount of points, because the new scoring system actually seems to take these things into account. But if you really only had to compete with cars that had one or no boosters, you don't even have to understand these intricacies. Your odds to win the race were way better than what you're used to from multiplayer, after all. Instead, you turned into the lowest form of Asphalt racer. If there's one thing that's worse than cheating or cloning accounts, it's taking a legitimate win away from someone who just beat a couple of superior cars, for example. What did they ever do to you?
Yes I get that in general. But on a more detailed level you can get more for coming second in one race than coming first in the next with a similar level of competitors.
So, Onyx cup. As always, cba to use boosters, was surprised to see myself giving a triple boosted player a trashing. Well, not everyone knows to drift through that corner leading into the aquarium so you don't actually enter it, but I think I just gave the game away there :| And then I got brake checked by some guy. Yay for Malaysian internet denying me chances at revenge knockdowns...
