Do you win/lose points for participating in them? I'm up to 2924 points, and there's no way I'm going to risk them on a new track like San Diego, especially if I have to use S-class cars.
No, it looks like the scoring is separate from that. You get points based on your performance and it seems like those go into a tally for the event. It doesn't effect your MP ranking though, it's event specific. I can't tell yet if there's a running counter for the event, or if you only get to keep your highest point total from a race as your score. If it's a running counter, the rewards are basically going to come down to who can play the most.
I'm not too excited about that update really. Since I get the Dubai one just ten days ago (win 8.1) I don't see the reason for another season that quick. I would love much more solutions for the problems we have already than new bling-bling cars. And more cars are released, more the older ones becomes useless. I'm gonna be really pissed if the new S class cars are way better than the older ones. After a bloodbath just too maxed out the Hennessey I'm still not ready to sell my parents for the One:1 or the Furai ( <3<3<3). Since I'm not the only one with not a lot of credits/tanks, I'm pretty sure this update gonna "force" people to hack the game even more. IAP cars? Hurray, I'm just waiting for a new multi-accounts tornado,yay! Until the game is still full of hackers/cheaters and full of crazy IAP walls it's hard to have a boner for this,at least for me. But I give this game (and GL) another chance before taking any final decision.
Yeah, well, you're a master. I'm just an above average racer. Have you figured out the scoring system? I can't make heads or tails of it. My two worst races have netted me my highest scores. I've ran 6 or 7 total, the first two were smooth, no crashes, slaughtered my competition, and only got about 500 points. The last two I ran, I got crashed off the start line and then tried some different routes, crashing more as I went, finishing dead last, and scoring in the 800s. Doesn't make any sense.

Yo Slight Take a look at Quick Solo Race! Those San Diego tracks and the Dubai tracks are there? I like to practice on Quick Solo before race but Gameloft doesn't like to include new tracks there!
I think it depends in the opponents and number of racers. But I haven't fully figured it out yet. But the way you are describing it is the same mistake I thought. That's your points going up, not how much you get every match. We would have to personally track down our points before every match to figure that out. That was crazy. Never seen that before. The Dubai tracks are. But no San Diego.
I love the new upadate..just wish they'd take away the fuel! lol man oh man..I'd be playing this game waaaaay more..So I guess maybe its a good thing haha
I want to download the new iOS8 but I need to free up space. Is it safe to uninstall A8? would I get everything back if I reinstalled it?
The more I race this SD MP LTE, I think the scoring is a running total. I haven't seen my total go down, but it does increase by varying amounts depending on factors I haven't figured out.
If you update through iTunes, you shouldn't need to free up any memory, if that's possible. I'm not sure about deleting it. You should be okay, but I've never tried it. Somebody else will have to confirm.
Those Sky players haunt me wherever I go. In the new tournament, somehow at the start, he was able to hit the side of my car. I swerved him and he hit the wall (should have slowed him down tremendously). I'm driving still with him by my side then he glitches in my way, hitting the first ramp and I end up in the water. That was so cheap how the game just did that. That should have been a easy win for me but the glitchy connection gave him the win.
