Ok guys, so I did not buy into the discounted sale on the me412/mustang or the jag/slsGT packs a few days ago. I just logged in and played my daily bonus. I was about to update to Dubai and I am being offered the Venom for 1.2 million on iOS. I don't know why it's not 1 million for me as someone mentioned. I have all other non-iap cars, and all my D class cars are maxed as of last week. I have one or two other cars in each remaining class maxed, so still a lot of others to max for me (nowhere near enough credits in the bank). Should I grab the Hennessy before updating? It's a lot of savings. I have 6.2 million credits available that I worked very hard for with no boosts to put in the bank. So that would leave me with 5 million. I just don't want to blow too many credits and have a setback when the new cars come out.
You're not going to get a better deal on the Venom than right now, so I'd do it. Five mil is still a pretty solid base to work with for upcoming cars. 2 out of 5 are almost certainly going to be IAP anyways.
Happy about the update. Was going to take my time on season 9 and use my daily bonus (do one per day)...kind of like a racing advent calendar. However with the Venom on sale and only having ~500k credits, I might have to reconsider that pace. Might just have to splurge on the credit doubler and go for it. What are first place rewards in season 9? Do they increase like in other seasons?
What is a reasonable time for the Jaguar F-type R cup? I have a feeling that the division cup just make cheaters easier since devs won't bother to removed them at all with more "divisions". This is a new maps so the best routes are to be discovered. The time reward is an extra tank for 1:13:000 so I take that as something you need to put efforts to get. In my division I see players get under 1:13 with no boost, I am not among the best drivers but I don't think that's doable. Btw in the Asphalt 8 First Anniversary Cup the top 2 players are clearly cheaters yet they are staying there not being removed. You can tell from this that devs don't really care.
I grabbed it. The spend was still a lot but the savings was worth it. It doesn't really seem fast stock, I think I still like the wildness of the lykan and the smoothness of the tuatara so far, we will see. I also updated. The portions of Dubai with being able to jump up or down levels and also no guardrails are nuts. This will be a difficult course for the fastest cars due to tight turns. The biggest thing I am scared of is wrecks due to instability from jumping a curb (like we first experienced in Monaco). The curbs in Dubai are very high and will launch you into a wreck quicker than you can blink. I played C class Dubai test run under season 8. Made first and no wrecks. Having trouble getting the last star for 8500m drift. Very difficult IMO. Must drift the entire two laps from start to even come close. I tried with the maxed exige and also with an RS3 (stock from new, no upgrades at all) and still couldn't do it. Any advice or different choice of car?
The Audi TTS worked for me, but I think any car will do. I used the same strategy I used for a similar event that was part of season 8: I drifted pretty much all the way. Then, when I came close to the finish line, I checked the status screen and noticed I hadn't covered the required drift distance yet, so I turned around right before the finish line and drifted away from it until I got the disqualification warning. Then I nitro'd back to the finish. Done. (Hey Gameloft, it would be really helpful if these events had an overall drift distance counter, like Asphalt 7 used to have. Same for rolls and spins, but those are easier to keep track of.)
Yeesh, finding the fastest routes on all four of the Dubai tracks isn't going to be easy. There are so many different roads to choose from (and sometimes two levels of them), and a lot of the curves are brutal with fast cars. I literally tried about 15 times to stay on the top portion of the course at the beginning of Dubai Reverse with the Silver-Lightning, and fell off every time (it doesn't help that the game controls don't seem to be very responsive at that area, which is another "flaw" that affects sharp turns on Wall Ascent and The Great Wall Reverse). I'm certainly not ready to try either tournament yet, as I don't really feel like putting up a horrendous time, especially in the 1000-Division cup. With that said, The Desert of the Rose and The Mirage seem to be slightly easier/more straightforward, though I've only tried each about 5 times. Public Enemy, want to post some videos? Please?
Also, some of the target times in season 9 are pretty funny. Hitting 1:36 in Iceland with a GT Spano (no boosters) is a decent challenge (you won't make it if you wreck), but 1:09 on Wall Ascent with a Tuatara? Really? Even if you run the track using all of the longest roads, you'll still make that time comfortably.
This is what ghost races are for. I think I got a pretty good handle on Dubai forward/reverse and The Mirage on my own, but for The Rose of the Desert, I benefited a lot from following Dark-Zero's ghost — there was one crossing there where I kept going the wrong way. Long-term, I think Dubai will be like the Chinese tracks for me. I still don't know those by name, and I don't know the routes by heart, but I know all the components of the area so well now that whenever I come around a corner and see the next stretch of road, I'm able to react fast enough along the lines of: "Oh, this is the one where I spin and jump, rather than turning right towards the bridge." Yup. There are tracks where you can even crash and still make it. On one track, I was roughly 15 seconds faster than the limit without any boosters.
Fully boosted I asume? The one fuel bar per race trick is still working according to FB page, I wonder if they are still able to access endless double tanks as well. It would give you a massive advantage in these cups as 2 runs doesn't let you get in the groove, and you can't practice elsewhere. I am liking the new challenges though, and the voting for number of laps thing is great thanks for listening GL.
Current time in the SSC Ultimate Areo XT Cup, a sharp drift on the first turn can help get a good time.
Idk tried that fuel trick on android- doesnt work lol. I'm so happy Gameloft brought some good changes this time around but the fuel system is worse than ever at least return it back to 3 fuel. Like seriously, 5 PER RUN????? Uni starts next Monday so I gotta get these 2 cars before that and then worry about the other 3 later. Looks like a lot of boosters will be boosted this cup. First to achieve a safe time for the SSC AEro and then work on the jag. Hopefully Gameloft allows people to win the jag again later but I doubt that woupd be true in the SSC case...
Update By trying a different course I managed 1:15:021 in the Dubai reverse in Season 9 using Scion (Max 995) no boost with some mistakes, so now I consider under 1:13 using Jaguar (1192) is possible though I haven't achieved it yet. 5 bars per try is long wait time...
Im so ####ing irritated right now. I don't know if it's sensitivity or what but drifting on the first turn almost never happens. It just makes me brake. And with the SSC, that car can't drift that corner to save its life. I just keep wasting 2 hours for 2 races where I keep getting bullshitted.
