Well, I don't know about percentages, but I experience it at least once or twice in each game.
Don't get me wrong, I love the drifting in this game, I was merely pointing up to our fellow member that he was wrong in his statement that it was faultless.

Drifting needs to be addressed by Gameloft right away. Feels unresponsive half the time. Also, the AI is so ridiculously cheap. If you don't go a certain route you're gonna lose. But then play on another track and you blow everyone else away.

And the game is SO MUCH SLOWER than A7.

Anyway, i'm hoping with the higher classes things speed up.

I like this one, but even with all the fancy new graphics, i still prefer A7's speed and superior drifting.

However, i really really love the music selections for this one. Very good choices. I'll probably never turn the music off. The UI is super clean and polished. I like the overall package. And sometimes when it seems the car is going just that much faster and there are particle effects galore... the game just clicks.

    That's basically boring.

So I thought Gameloft should give us ALL CARS in one way, like getting all stars on career, getting up on a specific level in multiplayer, or getting all achievements, or whatever, some of us have that mentality that we must buy and upgrade all cars (that's what I did in Real Racing 2)

That means you gotta know the optimal routes. Map knowledge. A7 Map knowledge didn't even matter, it was just spam nitro to the finish.

  7. You don't understand, Killjoy's favourite car series is the GTR series

That's awesome. But I was pointing to the grinding, that's 3-4 hours man, but still it's your fav car (or killjoy's) so of course you will do anything..

So now I have Killjoys ghost to beat (thanks!)... I think I can better some of your times but lets wait and see... Unfortunately I can't play until this evening (GMT) and it's 7:45am now. Long wait!

  10. It's not my favourite car, that would be the Bugatti Veyron which costs over 4 times the GTR did (so 12-16 hours of online grinding)

I primarily got it as it is an amazing B-class car...and to see Killjoy's reaction

That's really amazing, 12-16 hours, will you do that?

Anyways, I'm targeting the Lambo Veneno - which people said the world's ugliest car, and it's just 32k, so easy.

No, its your quad core android and an unoptimised operating system.

Its run smooth as butter on iPad 4 and iPhone 5.
There's plenty on here that have said it runs very well on iPhone 4S and iPad mini as well.

And RR3 has it beaten on visual quality of car models, RR3 is visually the best available on the mobile platform.
That doesn't mean that this one looks poor because it still looks amazing. Its just visually RR3 is the best available.
Coming as close to the best as it does is not a bad thing.

There two very different styles of game anyway. The environments in this one are equally as important as the car models. And the environments in this look excellent but they also interact in a much more substantial way than the ones in RR3.

And it most certainly does not run at 1/3 of the framrate of RR3 on any device that I have both of them on. And I have a lot of devices, both Android and Apple.

It seems everything you play is "poorly optimised". Perhaps its worth considering that your using the wrong devices.

A8 looks far better than RR3, IMO. I think it's because there is so much going on on the screen in A8 with all the crazy shader effects, moving particles, blur and countless other details, while RR3 looks kinda sterile and boring, especially the environments. But it's still looking awesome. I don't know how much RR3 improved in the last update, tho. But that's just my personal opinion.
Yeah i know RR3 is much more simulation based than A8 but man, my jaw didn't drop that hard in RR3 as it did when i started A8 for the first time.

In his defense, I have it running on a Nexus 7 and I'd venture to say that it is, in fact, poorly optimized. There's plenty of games that I have on both systems that run great on Android, but this isn't one of them. Gameloft_Ryan is over on Droid Gamers and is going to have the devs look at the issue, and had said as much that it's difficult because of the huge fragmentation of Android devices. Devs simply can't test on every device. That's why there's some games, like ones that were originally Tegra 3 exclusive, that look and play fantastic (because they were specifically optimized for those devices) and others that don't.

I'm not going to entirely blame Gameloft for it because it's just impossible with so many different chipsets. But I'd say it's a fact that it isn't optimized. It runs pretty horrible - yes, much worse than RR3, which admittedly is a different style of game, but still.

It's night and day compared to how well it runs on my 4S and it shouldn't be that huge of a difference.

^^ While I understand the Android situation, I can see the issue with the iPod 4G. There are quite a few games, aside from RR3 obviously, that have problems with it. As has been stated before, it's got the innards of a 3GS trying to run at retina resolutions. It was just a poorly designed model.

That said, Gameloft should at least mention in the game's description that the 4G isn't supported (the requirements are difficult to rule it out without excluding other devices like earlier iPads that can run it).

Since you mentioned it for the second or third time… I've got no Peugeot in my copy of A8 (maybe it's my fault and it's hidden somewhere and I can't find it). But I've got that one:

Back in 1932, Mercedes Benz had came out with their Motor and Formula One racing car, The Silver Arrow. The Silver Arrow was very successful, and the most popular car for german racers in the 1930s. 79 years later, at the 2011 LA Design Challenge, Mercedes Benz were showing off their concept car, Silver Lighting. Silver Lightning, as you may have guessed, was inspired by Silver Arrow.
