I'm sure I've never seen your name around the tournament leaderboards. Hmm interesting. Mine's just Eric Pang
You play in Canadian events right? I'm from Poland and play in worldwide (at least tha flag indicates it's worldwide)
I don't recall ever seeing your name in any worldwide event(maybe because I payed attention to your name) but yep, I participate in the "Canadian" events
This is strange indeed because I also never see anyone from this forum on "my" worldwide leaderboards...
That's right, I've also noticed that. The silver lightning is indeed very hard to control, aaaghh. I managed to move up to place 13 in that cup, the fastest (for now) without an extra tank.
You have to remember most of them are on iOS, I've only seen Mazhar and Lord Thirteen on my leaderboards and they are the only android guys I know here besides you. Also Mazhar and I are on the Canadian leaderboard and Lord Thirteen on the Brazil one, so we only see each other on the big worldwide events like the Hennessey tournament or the Ultimate Cup tournament that *cough cough* has only one map going on.
Something else that might be nice for the next update: I'd like to see a conformation before using certain boosters. It has happened a couple of times now that I accidentally used a double tank when I didn't mean to use one. Sometimes the screen/game freezes up and you end up clicking on it by accident. It would be nice if a "Use booster? YES/NO" window popped up. I think that would be a bit more user friendly
As someone who's studying on that matter (programming, not this cheating stuff, would be a waste of time), I find that pretty dumb as well. With some algorithms and stuff, cheats can be discovered pretty easily. However, this would kind of force people to stay online, as anyone could go on a net-less trip, grind money and upgrade cars, and find themselves banned if the algorithm isn't optimized for those cases (I'm still unexperienced, so forgive me for whatever stupidity I say). Also, IP-locking can be avoided through proxies, but most proxy-changing apps have weird interactions with other apps so it's not impossible to block people from changing countries.
And me hehe 1:20.419 in Monaco with Venom GT. What is WR there? http://youtu.be/4pzJ6ueu-OU I think that 1:19 is possible, but the first S turn is really random, I have to press brake twice the most of times to start the drift. Why it happen???
oh sorry man, I completely forgot about you, but that car is insane, I want another tournament for that so badly.
The current best time in Monaco (and the provisional "world record," I suppose) is 1:20.140, with the Hennessey. There still isn't anyone under the 1:20 mark, and whoever goes under it will absolutely be making A8 history. Of course, I'm sure the average player is more interested in watching Ryan Gameloft race blindfolded.
Obviously, I hope that we could get rid of the cheaters now once and for all. We are working on this. In the meantime, we are cleaning each leaderboard to make sure that only legit palyers are gifted. Some of you know that we already did so in the past, and that we will keep going. We are actually discussing about implementing this solution, if ever it is decided that this is the best thing we can do, we will implement it. So sorry for those hackers that are spoiling the leaderboards and the game in general, it disgusts us and we are determined to act quickly & effectively.
If I were Sheldon Cooper I would ask: sarcasm? P.S: any admin can add that smile to the forum? I love it
Rule number one: never you throw a challenge to hackers or divulge your information to them because you would end up losing. Ask Ubisoft or Sony. They even deviced a means to play the "always online" Modern Combat 5 offline.
I guess this would work for banning cheaters more permanently for a while. It will probably be better if it is combined with the current "switch accounts and ban" policy. But it would only be effective after the cheaters being banned. It won't stop people manipulating local save files (which will not result in banning currently). A method detecting such cheating behavior is still pretty much needed.
