Lol yeah, too much pressure for me! :D
Low time limit and low amount of tries make tournaments nerve-wracking. It's very hard to pull off a good time, but it's still doable. Some people even do better under pressure.

Aw. I understand how that feels. I tried so hard on that Ford GT tournament. I knew I could get the car, if it wasn't for the twitchy AI. If it was Monaco, I would have won hands down, since you often avoid them at the start. On Nevada Reverse, you either take a car in the face or avoid them and lose the perfect spot for the drift in the tunnel.

It just needed a drum roll to make it even more tense. Anyway, you did it, congrats! Sadly, no follow-up tournament for a new/previous car. Oh well, it's a break from all that pressure.

Yeah, I just saw. Oh that was nervewrecking. Anyway next is either FF or CLK GTR I believe, hopefully this one (Which is actually a racecar) handles better than its new siblings. I think the Venom GT will be last.

Anyway, if you wanna see a cool crash of the CLK GTR in Le Mans look no further (The Driver was unharmed) :D

Haha a useless piece of crap in the game. Although in real life it is an amazing car, it can't take a corner without having the biggest tail slide ever. I watch Top Gear and the amount of tires an owner must go through with such a car is unimaginable lol

I'm relatively new to the forum so I have no idea what age everyone is here, but now that the storm has passed and there's some downtime, anyone up for an off topic discussion?

Does anyone had real-life experience (either driving or riding) with any of the cars that are featured in the game, and if so how was it? If you don't have any of the cars in the game, what do you drive in real life?

I obviously drive a Huayra in real life, and it is fantastic.

That car isn't as fast as a jet, but it sure knows how to take off like one :D

Nope, not even a car outside the game. I have yet to get my driver's license :p

Anyway, has anyone tried to break the 1.21 line unboosted on the Gold Cup? I've come quite close with the Tuatara. 1.21.172 to be exact.

you can change it once only. but after that you can still request a change contacting customer service. don't know why they allow that.

That's the same place, you just need to go through to open a ticket and then you can switch it up. As others have stated though, the countries are not currently locking in all cases.

I remember test driving a 350z about 8 years ago. I liked the engine and it was very fast for its time, but I thought the interior was a little too plastic-y. Didn't have the nitrous or tuning kit :D

About a decade ago I received an invite to check out the new DB9 and although test drives were not offered, the salesman took me for a short spin. Sounds great, looks great inside and out (still looks great now), but it felt slow for a V12-powered car. It should not be a B-class car in the game.

I tracked a Nissan GT-R not long ago, and it was a lot of fun. The car did feel a bit heavy (lots of body roll) but it grips MUCH better than it feels like it would. On the straights the engine pulls hard, but it was disappointing it didn't have a exhaust soundtrack to match its power (blame the turbos). It doesn't feel like a special though - more like a really fast "normal" car that seems to defy physics when it's cornering.

I have plenty of driving experience with the Ferrari 458, but no track time (not skilled enough, and worried about damaging it). Looks amazing, sounds amazing, and drives wonderfully as well. It feels so special every time you drive it. All the stuff they say in the reviews about how great it feels to drive is absolutely true.

I drove a friend's Tesla Model S (P85+, the fastest trim) and, wow, that car feels like it's from the future. The instantaneous torque is truly shocking and eerie because there's no engine roar, just a soft electric hum. Extremely spacious and practical but the build quality is not as high as other luxury sedans in its price range. Still the tech more than makes up for its lack of posh.

I've test driven a CTS-V before (not the race car however) and I was a little disappointed to be honest. I was expecting a lot out of it considering how powerful its supercharged engine is, but it just didn't feel as fast as I thought it'd be (I blame the slushy automatic transmission). It's old too, so its interior is crap compared the new generation.

Drove a Mini Cooper as well - didn't care for it, don't really remember much about it. That's about it for my experiences with Asphalt 8 cars in real life.

Can I have your life please? LOL
I guess I got a long road ahead of me but anyway the GTR is the car id want to buy when I make enough money. It's just amazing it can compete with the likes of the 911 and other similar cars performance wise if course. And I assume the db9 would feel slow it's a grand tourer so should it really feel lightning fast? Ah the 458 it's a beauty, truly everyone acclaims it for being the best car for its price category.

Did you test drive other non asphalt cars that are high end? Would it be to much to ask if you've ever driven the aventador ?? Lol

I don't know but for a less than 10k Canadian car that id want to be sporty the 350z seems like the choice. No impreza wrx in that Price without problems. What car would you recommend for a good driver / fun at track for less than 10k?

A'ight, I just hit 1.20.883 on the Golden Cup with the Tuatara, unboosted of course. Yay for free tuning kit. My time can be improved, but only through luck and taking the curves extra tight. So a time of mid/low 1.20 unboosted is doable. Anything under that is probably hacked.

Nope, have never driven an Aventador. A couple years ago I visited a Lamborghini dealership and they had a white Aventador in the shop. The car was still new for 2012, and it looked absolutely stunning just sitting still. It looks quite large on the outside, but it feels claustrophobic on the inside (narrow windows and windshield, large center console) whereas a 458 is relatively spacious.

The fastest car I've ever been in was a 800hp+ (if I recall correctly) Nissan GT-R R34, back in the early 2000's. They're a rare sight to see in the US and it felt every bit like 800hp.

Honestly, as far as performance is concerned, it's hard to beat a preowned 350z at 10k. Of course the Miata is always the go-to choice for track days, but the lack of power may be a concern for some who have to have it. I would take a serious look at the Honda S2000 however. It may not have the power and torque of the 350z, but Hondas have excellent manual transmissions and the AP1 has an engine that revs to almost 9000rpm. I've never driven the manual on a 350z or WRX, but I've driven an Evo 8 with a manual tranny and it felt unrefined compared to Honda's manual. The S2000 should have similar running costs to the 350z and is probably more reliable, but I don't really know how much it costs relative to the 350z in Canada.

I dug up some old photos that I had. The R35 GTR was recent.

I could never decide whether I want a modified car or a new super car but honestly the r34 always looked fantastic. The CSR mechanic who was fixing my dads pathfinder was telling me about some guy who imported the r34 for 10k and its now sitting in his showroom. I'd Kill for that deal haha

But wow nice pictures. The aventador looks fantastic even if it may seem small. And that'd a liquid ink or whatever display right? I bet it would look fantastic in real life haha. lemme guess the cars in your pic r34, GTR r35, aventador and db9 right? I can't tell the last car but the logo on the wheel looks like an Aston martin
