Okay, that leaderboard is way easier than the iOs one. There are currently 50+ players under 1:03 on mine.

Gameloft finds a way to piss me off everyday. In the S class tournament, I keep getting 1:02:337 even when I know I got better runs. My time is glitched. I need to get under 1:02:200 to get top 50, which is a double tank reward. If I don't, I wasted this extra tank for no reason. This fuel system is so annoying. Just wasted my last chance because the AI went haywire (of course)

Which is why everyone wants it removed. At least remove it for cars we own. Its stupid to rent fuel for cars we have

The fuel system is a great idea but poorly executed. There should be options. If you have the cars, you should have to use no fuel, only if it's a brand new car. You should also be able to turn on and off the entire fuel system.

I spoke to somebody about the concept of having less tries in tournaments a long time ago but explained that the randomness of AI would effect it. And it has in this fuel system, some events more than others.

If Gameloft truly wants to promote skill, there are many ways to do so.
    1. Tournaments using only cars with bad nitro characteristics
    2. Endurance races with traffic.
    3. Live multiplayer tournaments (like players racing against each other for prizes. Depends on the amount of points accumulated from the place you finish in. With only the top 3 racers in a match rewarded points).
    4. Having only one AI car at start.
    5. Implementing head to head matches as a multiplayer mode.
    6. Tournaments with only 5 tries (no more; only one AI allowed).
    7. Player challenges in multiplayers.
    8. Tournaments where you can't use certain boosters (specifically the extra tank).

I have many more possible ideas.

Yep, Android isn't as good as you IOS guys, I was the only person to make it in the top 50 with one booster(tuning kit) with a time of 1:04 I think for 43rd

I wanted to comment on this, because even though players "lock" their country they can contact our support to change it.

The concept of locking someone to a region by either their store or IP address isn't really viable IMO. It's too easy to switch stores in the App Store and also to have your IP appear in another country through a variety of methods. I think Fabien has mentioned it, here or elsewhere, but this is something we'll need to keep an eye on as we continue to support Asphalt 8.

HOLY MOTHER OF IMMIGRATION that is a lot of foreigners
Now all those people changed country because of a single car and are too impatient to wait for their own tournament. Now that's pathetic.

i didnt really get that, the customer supprt, all i can find is customer care, which seems to be directed to new players

im guessing there were around 10-15 foreigners for the top 50

Looks like there are two cheaters occupying the top 2 spots now. I think I'm still safe, but does anyone know what happens when the tournament ends? Is the system able to weed out the cheaters and award the top 20 non-cheaters, or can it not really check for that?

I was also thinking that an average of you 5 best laps would be better as it would weed out those that just get lucky once.

Also if game loft wanted to encourage driving skill some kind of top level MP tournament that you would have to reach a certain level to enter would be great. The races could be viewed by all on twitch, and the races could be balanced as much as is possible so it is more about overall skill and experience rather than luck and a better car/start position.
This would be a goal to aim for for anyone entering the game and would earn GL money as to get to the level you would need to own everything and be able to win in MP.
At the moment in MP there is no real incentive to get any where as the top positions are taken by people that specialise and the up and coming drivers have little chance of getting to the top.

For the past 3 car tournaments, the top 3 spots were occupied by hackers. I reported them to Gameloft and support said they will investigate further but they are still at the top of the leaderboard and assumingly rwcoeved their cars and are very happy :( it really sadens me to see that happen to others...

Right, it seems like they never got banned for cheating in the previous tournaments. Banning accounts sounds like easy thing to do...perhaps there are legal restrictions preventing Gameloft from easily doing so? I'll give Gameloft the benefit of doubt for now, but I agree that this is a serious issue which needs to be addressed sooner than later.

Not only that but three more people who have done their best to win the car are now denied from that right because some guys don't even care about them or honor. This is also why I agree with your idea of locking the countries by IP (but still have access to further support if someone just moved). I'm kinda sounding like an hypocrite by saying this though

    1:24.772 on SLS CUP :D

Same lap as my video, except before S turns at end, there I grab another orange bottle (at 1:14 on my video, just at left). Also a really nice turns, without mistakes...
I haven't recorded it, but I will try now again ;)

    Video of my OLD record

That really looked nice, especially for that car — which is a sliding fool in the big turns. One key looked to be all the AIs you missed at the start and a very nice entry into the first drift. Well done, especially if you've only had one or two cracks at it. Took be two tries just to figure out the car. Third try, hit some AIs and slowed way down. Then, fuel tank ran dry and I'm done.

I don't think they are trying to promote skill here. I think they see their game macro (game) economics as way out of whack. The credit system is completely inflationary. Since each race results in credits, the value of credit over time decreases. For instance, as a newbie season 1er, you got a few hundred credits per race and thus had to be very conservative with your purchases. Now many of the folks on this board have millions of credits without having spent any real $. For a newbie, I think participating in a TLE was the fastest way to grind -- an 8th place finish was good for more credits than a season 1 five star winning race. At some point in your A8 career, 3M credits seemed like a vast fortune-- probably capable of getting every car and every upgrade. But now, not so much.

So, I think Gameloft saw this and has been trying to increase the value of credits. Cars and upgrades are more expensive. You can only do 10 TLEs per 100 min, limiting your TLE credit gains to ~35,000/1.5 hours. Boosts are more expensive per time.

It really seems to me they are trying to deflate the credit.
