Yeah hopefully, I'm currently waiting for my fuel to refill. I hate the waiting, why can't it be money? I mean I can then run the thing as many times as i want in the hour or two i may dedicate to the game per day. Ever since the update i barely touch asphalt 8, not even running the tourneys which I have the cars maxed for...

I think I can improve my time by 0.2 to 0.4 seconds but i'm no pro...
And good job on your time :)

Did my 15 minutes of A8 for the day, slow clap. Not going to keep clicking that booster every 15 minutes, every 10 for the nitro. What a bore. Everything is out of whack. You can't just run and have fun. The new fuel deal runs out quick, but super turbo extra booster is 4 hours while other needed boosters are 15 and 10 minutes. It's like GL had the designers work from different parts of the world without contact with each other and they just put it all together and called it an update. Then you hear rumor that Opens and Summers are using a bug to steal the POS Chrysler and Mustang while we're being asked to pay $100 to play. That's not cricket.

If by 'money' you mean credits, I approve. To balance it out, make it cost more than what you can get with all the runs (10x3600). Then I'll consider the fuel system a success.
Also, since I'm slower with improvement than you guys, I'm having a hard time with the GT tournament, but I made it to the top 50 : 1.18.3xx. Last time I checked, I was on spot 27.
Good job with your times though :D

Yup return it back to the pay for the rent. The fuel system is stupid because you can't replay in a short amount of time and fix your mistakes

I still see you in spot 27, I'm in second place and I feel like i could be doing much better with my time. Also is it just me or do you find the iOS times not possible on android? It's just in previous tounreys the android fastest time was a bit slower than iOS and we are using 99% the same route. Thanks!! I am sure you could easily improve on your time though but its still really good :)

I did my time this morning and can't improve it. Of course I think that I will get top50 with it, but... hehe
On the other hand, maybe top50 will be under 1:18,3xx I think, so, go go Lord XIII :)

Again I request to Gameloft that they put another event to get Chrysler ME 412 (with more spots) or also be able to buy it with game credits

Oh wow, I am only a spot above you right Hectorx?
I want to improve my time but I sort of think that I'll be just fine with this time till the end of the tournament. If not I might just have to re run it on friday lol

I missed the chrysler and the mustang. But for the this tourney and the next 3 I will get the Ford Gt, the Jaguar CX75, the CLK GTR, FF and the SLS AMG GT. Hopefully most of those are top 100 tournaments but if not top 50 would be ok I guess just not top 10.

Why can't Gameloft go back to giving cars to the top 1000 or even top 2000 like they did for the lykan? Or to the hell with it top 500 seems fair to me. What happened? They just want people to pay money so they can say I have every car in the game now? I find it really stupid. Make Car packs appealing to the new people but not force veterans to pay money if they arent the top 10 in the world. Like I mean they grant 0.000001% of the population the car for free and everyone else has to spend 99.99 for pixels on the screen. Quite frankly thats very stupid. Sell the Chrysler for 1 million credits which is an absurd price but make it achievable with hard work and not with real money....

Right hehe, my name in the game is Héctor Muñoz :)
In my case I couldn't play enough because I had a trip. Also I used an incorrect route on French Guiana, but I'm sure that I could have got a top 10 :)

Exactly. And I make a lot of 'em, this is why I'm slow.

Thanks. I can easliy improve it, but like I said before, I easily make mistakes. I should use extra days just to get the fastest time unboosted, and if needed, I'll try with boosters afterwards.

Yeah, me too, that Chrysler one was tight. did you see how many did actually play the Chrysler tournament after the first one, and how many did upgrade it?

Maybe, maybe not, I just moved 2 spots down until now, and I don't expect more people to reach top 50, maybe De Lorean and stuff. Like I said, I'll make improvements unboosted, but I'm not done with this tournament yet.

I feel like the Ford GT will be kinda like the Nissan GT-R, since their ranks are quite close, but I want that car in my garage

Same, I had exams myself so I decided marks are more important than pixels on the screen and elite owners status lol. For the SSC Tuatara I was 13th but I also got my time and I was like good enough why care haha, I guess I could have been top 10 for this if I really tried lol

A hash tag either side seems to make it black. There is list somewhere on the face book for the other colours

I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but this is just the plan for the time being. I haven't heard what the long-term plan is for these two vehicles yet. They could very well make their way into a tournament again or into the shop for credits, but I'm not sure. Still waiting to get an idea from the game team what they have in mind moving forward after this update.

Honestly, the 2015 Mustang was the only reason I re-installed this game as that is my next car when it releases. Loved driving it in Need for Speed Rivals and to take it with me on the go sounded pretty fun.

I drove it a few times during the tournament and really liked it. Then I see another tournament and thought that was cool. Sadly, I'm not spending $100 for an iOS game to be able to enter it. Not happening and since I am not spending money for boosters and such since it would be an absolute waste as I'm not good or dedicated enough to place in the prize categories, it is lost on me.

I already feel slightly deceived as I bought the game originally at $.99 but ultimately got punished due to not playing it religiously to stockpile credits (like the hardcore players did) as I assumed it would be like Asphalt 7 and I could methodically and slowly make my way through the campaign. Sadly that isn't the case. Hasn't been for the past few months which is why I uninstalled it. After the re-install, I'm now stuck in the campaign without a ton of grinding or turning on the money faucet.

I'm fine with IAP but when it feels like after every update (and I stupidly re-install the game thinking something has changed) when something cool pops in, it is then hidden behind some massive paywall (either in real money or credits). It is just maddening as the game itself is still super fun to play.

Now that the online is full of boosts and boosters that cost real money or valuable credits as it takes a while to earn them since I'm not play nor have I played for hours on end as that isn't when I play mobile games, it is just a chore to play as no progress is being made. It makes the multiplayer feel like a crap shoot as if I'm at the head of the pack I am typically taken out immediately or at the rear, I can never catch up to the first place racers. It isn't fun anymore as the best driver is not typically the winner. The person who spent the most money is.

When RR3 is more upfront and honest about what costs real money and what is the true barrier to entry for each event, there is something wrong. I wasn't a fan of RR3 and their initial pricing but they are doing IAP right as of now and that is just insane to me. They even gave away the best car in the game as long as you completed a few minor objectives. That was awesome and felt the like the devs giving back.

Gameloft has done nothing like this to give back and consistently in every update drops a good idea into the game, like the fuel system for the credit poor to allow everyone to enter the tournaments (limited plays for all with the fuel makes it so that everyone, whether credit broke or not, has the same amount of chances to get the best overall times). Then ruins it by allowing boosters and tuning kits as well as the double tanks into the equations. That's just crazy to me.

RR3 has been surprisingly a decent amount of fun and while it lacks the awesome jumps and thrills, I don't feel like the devs there are yanking money out of my pocket at every turn. Sure there are timers but they are up front with that and the game liberally throws premium currency and even the best cars in the game at you. It seems more fair and I haven't even spent a dime on the game whereas I have spent money on Asphalt (more than the $.99 initial purchase as well).

In any event I'll see what the astronomical price for the Mustang is "if" it ever is able to purchased with credits but knowing the price of some of the other vehicles I doubt I'll be able to afford it and sadly, Gameloft has given me zero reason to give them any more money considering their trend consistently adjust the balance of the game.

    End Rant.

Hello, I wasn't able to get anyone to answer me on the Gameloft Discussions page so I will ask here, does anybody know if the free Extra Horses Collection S class upgrade work for the Tuatara? Thanks.

I had also missed this info before. A real pity that the short term is to just be able to buy them through IAP, and 90€ IMHO is a crazy price which makes more people go to the hacking alternative, as in RR3... Anyway, there go my two cents.

@rapaleeman: I don't think RR3 is fair-priced either, unless they've changed IAP so much these last weeks that you can afford every car for a reasonable price (60€ maximum, a normal console game price).

Some of their prices are nuts however none of the cars or upgrades you can't buy with cash are needed to progress in the game or the multiplayer. That and there are no boosters in multiplayer. I started playing again a few days ago and I have already earned well over 450 coins from events and challenges. Money is earned at a decent clip for upgrades and final upgrades that are coins only don't seem to be required so far. I even got a free car that appears to be the best in the game from the Le Mans challenges.

The big difference is that you know what you are getting with rr3 and asphalt seems to be taking advantage of its player base. I expected to have to go back to need for speed most wanted but rr3 is surprising me and my cloud save with a bunch of cars carried over. Basically there is always something to do and I don't feel stuck at all. When I need more credits I move over to another championship and proceed there. It's laid out better for progression.

Personally I prefer my games like Ridge Racer Slipstream. Upgrades aren't required to proceed only skill is. Sadly I have beaten that game more than once and maxed out everything so other than a race or two a week is all I need for my fix since most of the tracks I have been racing since 1995.

Back on topic, asphalt just feels slimy now. It isn't fun in multiplayer since best driver doesn't win, money does. Single player payouts have diminished and the price of cars are astronomical based on even the highest payout races let alone coupling in the upgrades.

Again, the sad state of affairs is that Asphalt plays great. It's too bad greed got in the way. The point of a free to play game should be to get users to want to spend money not to leave and find a different game to throw money at. When need be I will throw out a few bucks at rr3 as it has been as advertised but they seem to not want me to spend money as they keep throwing coins at me.

To each their own I suppose but for as much as gameloft state they are listening they seem to not comprehend what the are hearing.

To complete RR3 to full 100% campaign, you'd need somewhere in the region of 30,000 gold coins (minimum) for cars (with the discounts) and the required gold upgrades to meet the PR requirements for later races in each series.
At $99 (or thereabouts depending on your region) for 1000 gold coins, well, you can do the maths.

While this one is certainly heading in the wrong direction with iap only cars, comparing a game that needs somewhere in the region of 3000 quid to finish it to this one is not exactly a like for like comparison.

For the Lemans series alone in RR3, you're going to need 3.2 million in game currency and 800 gold coins to get the other two cars at the discounted price. And that's before you've put a single upgrade on any of the cars which will indeed be necessary in order to meet the PR requirements.
I dunno, as harsh as things may have gotten with A8, one is certainly more punishing than the other.

And no, I'm not supporting iap only cars. I'm pretty sure I don't really even care about the iap only cars in either game or whether or not I actually achieve 100% completion in either game as I'm enjoying both for what they are while being aware of the limitations of both.
Neither one is innocent in their current state but one is most certainly far more punishing than the other and exponentially more expensive to even attempt to achieve completion.

As a pre soft launch player of RR3, I've seen it change from a game where everything was achievable in game to 100% without any iap to what it is now. I won't say what it is now as it is still the technical masterpiece of iOS but it is certainly the most expensive game I have ever played. Ever.
After watching how that one progressed over its lifetime to now has caused me to have a gentler outlook on A8, I will certainly concede, but that is simply because the two are still oceans apart. They are getting closer and closer with each update to A8 but the distance is still great enough for the two to still be on a different plane of altogether.

As things stand with RR3, I won't ever be spending more on iap in it, I've spent enough already and I have enough kept still to cover me for the one more car that I am willing to spend gold on (the LaFerrari and that car only) so whatever else they bring to it will be of little or no concern to me as I'll still play it purely for the enjoyment factor of what I've got already and whatever I can achieve with in game currency going forward.

If A8 ends up being the same way (which it is not yet, closer, but definitely not there), well then I'll just apply the same rules to that as well. The two iap only cars in A8 are not even two that I'm particularly interested in as I have the rest of the cars so I'm pretty much covered.
I will be strongly tempted to get the Jag cx75, as that is an astoundingly beautiful vehicle that I was lucky enough to view in the flesh (while a concept) at Goodwood one year and has a certain bit of recent nostalgia for me, but if its iap only at RR3 money to buy, I'll just skip it and not be worried at all about it one way or another.

(Disclaimer. This post is not intended to diminish one opinion or another. If it comes across that way, that was not the intent just to be clear. It merely expands on the topic of the quoted posts and expresses some of the numbers I know exist in one game over the other and is based on the experience of having both from very beginning of availability and knowledge of the progression both have gone through over their existing lifespan to this point. It is not intended to dilute the opinion or experience of the quoted posts.)
