Decent session tonight. I got disconnected once early ( ), but had no lag problems. I only lost twice, with one of those losses coming at the hands of Dlusion (advice: if you get the pole position and he's in the race, don't opt for a perfect nitro), but managed to repay him the favor in a later race. Final result: Jumped from 1,649 to 1,685 points/from #368 to #262 worldwide (Fittingly, I'm now 1 point above Rhinolabello, who's kind of my rival in this game.)
@Turbo Well, something tell me we will still be seeing you again so I will refrain from farewell. I agree with you that people come and people go, its a part of life however when a decision or a situation forces one to leave than it becomes difficult to comprehend. I have learnt a lot from you and many others here, you have encouraged many new and old players here and assisted in building this forum ( salute ). Like many here I too am playing this game less and less each day. The update have killed the very essence of what the game stood for. I hope GL reconignises and understands that the game will only succeed if your changes keeps the end user in mind and forcing changes for benefits will lead eventually to the games demise. On the contrary, I see many new, yet familiar names added to this forum...Juanenrique, Nemisis, DrChee, Dlusion....you guys are welcome here. Your skills and achievements are well known and like everyone here, true soldiers of the game. Hope to run into you at some point in the game.. Turbo I'll be seeing you around my brother.....
The reason those familiar names now have joined here and reach out to the community that goes with the game is not a good one though. It is all because everybody is getting increasingly more unhappy with the game sadly and are feeling the need to express those thoughts. Sad to see you go Turbo! You've always been one of the core posters here that has helped lots of people, sharing your tips and tricks. Thanks!
Thanks Turbo, you too with whatever you have in mind for now. It's a shame that GL is doing this, now they're losing their most valuable customers little by little. Soon, A8 will be a place filled with unaware newbies and relentless hackers. But my gut tells me this is just setting the stage for A9, where our hopes will be all focused on that game... only to be crushed a few months later. Also, it's a damn shame we can't do cross-platform races. I wish to race some of the iOS guys around here at least once. Oh well, it will never happen I guess.
I have a doubt, are online events by countries or continents? For example, who knows De Lorean, he is always on top5 in my ranking... I attach a video from Camaron Event, current best time on my country/region/continent haha http://youtu.be/HtaBH6wTIQM
You might have better luck running fully-boosted Survolt in MP for a chance to earn more ranking points.
I agree with you Stoppi, however what better place than here where we can share our opinions united, whether anything can be done about it is another matter. Ryan - There has been so many criticism and negative feedback towards the changes since the update, do you have a view on this ( from a player perspective, not asking you to go against the company ), will it get fed back and are GL likely to consider the points or are they even interested ? It would be really interesting to understand GL thought process on the / since the update.
Gameloft made their worst move ever by making those 2 cars $99.99. You can buy 2 console games with that. Cause of that shit, a lot of players are quitting. I haven't been playing for months then they added an SSC Tuatara without announcing it. I could have participated and won it
Welcome, Dlusion -- fellow Canuck and awesome driver! Good to see you here. Too bad the game has gone to sh!t lately. But we'll make the best of it. I've said it before, I'll say it again: Turbo, you're the man! Best of luck and hope to see you around
ACEE, you rock my friend and you very well might be. But for now I need to let go for a bit. Things are not right and I know you feel basically the same way. I really hate that so many of the names that we have all battled are here now (when I am taking a extended sabbatical) it would have been fun to have them for a while to collaborate with in some fashion. Well said my man, sadly those off us who have paid our dues per say, do not need to spend money so at the end of the day we are worth very little to Gameloft. I admit I get that since if the game makes no money then it is done anyway, I just dont get the logic in the steep pricing? I cannot see anyone justifying that purchase? Thanks for the kind words Stoppi! Thanks Lord...and cross platform would be very nice indeed...But shoot my android account is still 2 updates back so until that is made current it just could not happen. Also if there is now $ in it, I dont see them making the effort either. As far as A9 goes, I will look when it does show up, but I will do so with a cautious eye since it is destine to travel the same path and I dont want to put in the time to end up in the same place in that one too. Take care my man. I will be still lurking day to day dont you worry. Just not in game anymore. Thanks BEA....you keep headed up that ladder bro and I will be checking to see you at the top dude!
The biggest bummer about the new cars being available to buy via bug and credits is that the top 100 in the 2 TLEs are completely full. Some GL exec has got to be seeing that and thinking "Ka-Ching! Man our new pricing strategy really worked!"
And nobody will root for him more than you and me. By the way, I think you underestimate the long-term effect that your leaving will have on Gameloft. It's true that you were never going to spend $100 on some silly rocket on wheels, but to me, you were the heart of this thread ever since you arrived. Your enthusiasm was inspiring; it drew people towards this thread and subsequently, the game. Gameloft made a lot of money off of that, albeit indirectly, as people that were fascinated by your adventures bought C class car packs and such. He's not going to say so, but I think Ryan understands all of this. And one fine day, after they get bought out and then shut down by an even bigger fish, the suits at Gameloft may understand as well. In the meantime, thanks for sharing your enthusiasm. I enjoyed that a lot.
Chaps, for your viewing pleasure this weekend, I'd recommend checking out the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. I'm watching on Autosport.com.
this used to be so much fun, mostly in MP that I played almost everyday. now once a week (an hour max) is enough, probably will get bored soon then delete the game. pay-to-win .... this ain't a good strategy game development from such a great company. I got 9 free extra tanks, tried some and got bored because this tools stretch the balance of all player in the race so far apart. I wouldn't pay for it, not because I am cheap. Instead, offering an ability to get a custom paint job, rims, aeros, that can probably draw some from my wallets !
Dude I dont know what to even say The only thing that comes to mind right now........... BirdYOU ARE THE MAN!!
