I noticed the same thing, the nitro booster I won in a TLE gave me the normal duration when I used it, after that is was back to the devaluated new duration.
A'ight, back from my testing and here's what I have to say about each and every feature, starting from good to bad: - The rewards from getting a certain set of cars is a HUGE addon - The cars, as always, are welcome - The new MP streak rewards are meh, no more global D or C upgrades, but only a certain attribute, like handling or nitro. At least you could choose what you wanted to upgrade, but now you're forced to stick with what you're given. Also, always getting D or C class rewards won't do much if we already maxed out everything Still, one-lap only races are kinda nice. - Strangely enough, nothing really changed with the boosters (okay, I rushed to get my rewards and have a ton of free boosters now), they still show 2 hours for nitro and 8 hours for tuning kits (maybe it's a side effect from those free boosters). The credit packs also remain unchanged. But from what I hear through here, the changes you guys witnessed is a bad thing, especially combined with the new fuel system (see the point below) - The fuel system is a nice try, but charging people to use fuel if they have the car is kinda dumb. Also, I see what you're trying to do with asking from people real money to refill their fuel. Clever, but still a bad idea - Finally, I gave in to corruption and let myself succumb to the double nitro temptation, for testing purposes, of course. Now let me get this straight: this feature is horribly bad. First, it's broken to the very core, since having double the nitro bars is already a bad thing at the start of the line. If it was a temporary bar, okay fine, but you can REFILL THAT SECOND BAR AS WELL, like you refill the first one in a race. The only map where you actually stand a chance is Iceland, because the nitro bottles are few and well-placed. Now, you're charging people money for those. Nice try, but it won't cut it. You're hurting veterans and newbies as well, since anyone with it has a huge advantage. People always say MP is like: 'The first to get the first nitro bottle wins', and that's true most of the time. Now, you're giving people the ability to ensure they get the first nitro bottle, and keep the extra boost bar they would have wasted with a single nitro bar. Of course, we won't see many people use it, but that's reducing a test of skill to a pay-to-win game even more than before. MP's not the only thing affected: if someone keeps buying a double nitro bottle on TLEs, they are only defeatable through an high amount of skill, and if that guy's a veteran, well you're screwed Overall, my high hopes for this update have turned into a sigh. You had some interesting ideas GL, don't get me wrong, but some were poorly executed IMO. (And sorry for the huge post, or if it sounded like a rant, just giving my personal opinion)
I guess that the main reason is to increase the "game speed". I mean, you won't drive for 10 minutes to finish ONE multiplayer event anymore. Also, this enables you to earn cash and MP rewards faster.
In that case, thanks! I'm sure a lot of veterans will appreciate the ability to enjoy the game for a few more days.
@Lord XIII: the powerups you have which show 2h and 8h are old powerups you had won in the previous version. Once you spend those and start spending the new ones, the maxed specs lasts 15 minutes and the full nitro bar 10 minutes. I guess the game keeps a record of the old powerups and new powerups.
Thanks for the info. So the garage rewards keep a record on when you achieved a certain condition, it seems. That means the sooner you get all the achievements, the more they value. Well, this was worse than I anticipated.
I guess GL is wrong, the 2 lap in most maps give those racer a chance to climb back to their spot. I mean single lap isn't much heat in it compared to double lap...
Yeap, I learnt it the hard way. I had one "max specs" upgrade from previous version. With all the rewards for owning cars I got many free powerups. I used one of the "max specs" upgrade yesterday and it activated for 8h. The next "max specs" upgrade I used this morning activated for 15 minutes. The good thing of the update for me is, aside from great 4S performance, I was only missing the SSC, and I had 750k. With all the rewards, I got enough for the SSC by collecting them
Dear Fabien_GL We have to have Spain Vs Australia Cup! The two first eliminated countries from World Cup... And it MUST be at Barcelona Reverse which means, they backing for home! About the new Update: A Donation Campaign would be much more beautiful from Gameloft's part than this fuel thing and premium packs!
I think it would have made a hell of a lot more sense to up the rewards in MP, because now you don't have any time to recover for a podium spot if you get a knockdown at the start. It makes multiplayer a whole lot more about luck now, and the influence of driving skill has been lowered. Also, like mentioned a few times here before, please add a restart/retry button to the screen showing your winnings after finishing a TLE event. That would cut out returning to menus unnecessary and extra loading times. You know...it would actually increase the game speed.... Your measurement to cut down MP races in half now has another direct result. It actually ends up that I spend less time driving, but more time in menus choosing races and waiting for other players and more loading screens. If you look at the amount of races you can finish and credits you can earn in an hour, those indeed have gone slightly up (this gets completely counteracted of course by the boosters becoming 4-6 times more expensive, and other gameplay limiting contraptions). But you will be spending less time driving other people and actually racing, and a lot more looking at static screens. My super expensive boosters that I only get for 10-15 minutes are sitting idling ticking away seconds a bigger portion of the time now because I am waiting for another loading screen, another round of matching up players, of them deciding on their race choices and another loading screen. You're trying to sell this as an improvement, but it isn't. It once again hurts my experience as a player. The slight increase in rewards is completely wiped off the table by all the other implications and game changes the new update brought. I want to spend as little time in menus as possible, and as much time racing I possibly can, I want to be able to actually use those boosters for a big portion of the 10 minutes I get them. Now you can maybe squeeze 4 races in 10 minutes, races that are on average maybe 1:30 minutes long. In those 10 minutes i spend roughly 30-40% off the time waiting, that's probably an 10-20% increase compared to before. There is a huge lists of things that need(ed) fixing in multiplayer. But race lengths were in my opinion not one of them. So yeah, of all the things you could change and work on Gameloft...
I just hated that car... The back view seems like a stove! A cooker with four wheels... Asphalt 8 Airborne - Chrysler ME412 http://youtu.be/hScw4CoqI60 Someone here said that Chrysler 300C would be a better choice. I have to agree!
Seems like GL didn't even fix the lagging issue.... It lags EVERY map that i race, If there is another nice racing game i would DEFINITELY delete this F***ing A8
I just watched a portion of Turbo's Twitch session from last night. This "fuel tank" crap is really going to infuriate me, especially when a single run eats up 3 of them. Lo and behold, the Open players are once again lined up at the top.
Charging 20 000 credits for a 15-minute booster is an absolute joke, especially when that exact same booster cost 40 000 credits and lasted 8 hours just a couple days ago. They've essentially tweaked the game to make it impossible to break even if you use boosters in MP. (Even if you win every race and manage to obtain 27 000 credits every 10-15 minutes, you won't be making any bonus credits that can be used on cars.) I guess it'll be booster-free Dodge Dart MP races against newbies from here on out. (I'm sorry, but watching a great player like Turbo struggle on a simple course like French Guinea due to ridiculous game-tweaking has really pissed me off. I'm dreading my own performance, especially knowing that I'll have to do in blocks of 3 runs. When I'm trying out a new car, it normally takes me about 3runs just to get a feel for the course.)
Newbies loved the update! Experts hated the update! Well done, Gameloft! On next update we will have Extra Extra Tank!
I don't think I agree with this one. Over the last several weeks, I've seen several folks in MP that are level <5, but have 40+ cars. Putting those folks in front with a maxed out, boosted mini/survolt against non-boosted cars is handing them a victory. Then again, putting a boosted car against non-boosted in the back just gives them a bunch of easy knock down targets. In any case, I think I'd look at a combination of the car's stats and the rank. Running a level 1 dart against a 370z should get the pole, even if its the toucharcade studs or the Open folks.
Here's some refreshing news for a change — I finally found a decent Mini racer who doesn't use the extra tank either: Dlusion. Every other 1600+ Mini driver I've encountered uses the extra tank, but he doesn't. Faith in humanity: partially restored. (I managed to beat him, but that was mostly because I started ahead of him. Third place went to an extra tank loser.)
We will check at players feedback in the coming weeks. Please give us a little more time It is not implemented yet for technical reasons: Basicly, coming back to menu also synchronise your progress with our servers. However, we are thinking of ways to improve the process.
As mentioned in this thread before, there are many things that can cause laggs. In most case, this is not due to the game itself. If you go back to earleir posts, you will see that the game runs better on devices less powerful than yours (iPhone 4s). Anyway, don't hesitate to contact our Customer Care, the team will ask you the questions that will certainly help to identify the issue.
