I think I am about to get on and see about running that tourney with boosters now... I was just messing with some settings on Twitch and it is acting strange. So I might give up on it for now and do a short one running that map.
Man, Turbo, you're besting your time with each successive run! From a mid-54 to a 53.8 within 3 runs! I can only wish I had that kind of consistent improvement when I play tournaments. Edit: Just posting your performances after the 53.8 that put you in 6th place. 54.239 54.238 54.035 58.031 (Wrecked during last barrel roll) Restart due to lack of knockdowns at the start 54.092 53.821 (still in 6th though) 53.791 (now in 5th place) Restart 53.669 (4th, and less than .100 from Dark Zero's 2nd place time) HUGE WALL WRECK 53.748 Barrel roll wreck! 53.781 53.970 Restart Restart (failed to flat spin off ramp) 55.941 (unfortunate wall contact during before-last turn) 54.350 (slight wall contact + grazed final right-hand ramp) Restart 53.649 (4th place, despite missing that last bottle!) Restart 53.917 54.257 (with failed barrel roll) Barrel roll wreck Restart Restart Restart! Restart!! Restart!!! 53.646 Barrel roll wreck 53.651 (I thought for sure you had it this time; probably that last barrel roll cost you?) (I guess Turbo took a short break...then the site lagged on my PC for a good 5 minutes, and when the feed reloaded he was in 2nd place behind Tano.) 53.829 OFFLINE
Thanks for watching man...I recorded it and it is on my Twitch page....I can hear that my sound glitches are making on the stream so I guess that will keep me looking forward to some equipment that is showing up soon more than it was before...lol....I had a hard time there tonight man. I also see that my glitchy screen I see because of the reflector is making it in...that kinda sucks too....but oh well Did the chat crash? I could not seem to get comments involved or not...and I know that Herew3go said he was having trouble but no matter how many times I refreshed it did not work? I did not run multi man sorry...by the time I got around to running tonight, I only had an hour and that I needed to chase down Dark and Tano one of which I did not get and I would not be surprised if Dark gets me back tomorrow. I will try again tomorrow night but it will be later on say sometime in the 10-12 mountain time zone.... again thanks for tuning in I really appreciate it. I hope the chat is good tomorrow Ended the night at 53.439....i dont know if you noticed the knockdowns at the start kept making me slow down too much for some reason? Like 219 mph vs the few runs that gave me 240 something....even though I hit them all side and the same way or so it seamed.... anyway thanks man What is you user name on twitch?
I'm not actually registered on Twitch, so I was watching anonymously. The chatroom only loaded up the first time I went on the site (I had to refresh a few times before the feed became less choppy). I won't get to play A8 again until next Saturday night, so I might post another one of your tournament runs if I feel like being a spectator.
Well if you do then great man..I will run what ever the next tourney is tomorrow in the late night hour again...as long as it is not a Merc Lighting one...if it is then multi it will be.... Making an account is free and super easy that way who ever you follow it will give you notifications when they go live..if you care. Again thanks for tuning in anyway driver...good night..or is it morning...lol
Wow, First 4118, That was something to log his races, It is quite interesting and great observation. Wow, I had the chance to watch and I could hear you talking and everything, it was very exciting to watch a PRO like yourself in action. I'm sure it made ME a better racer. One thing is to read the action, which is great but to see it, is spectacular, Thanks for that Turbo I missed the chat, but hey I had to install and figure out Twitch What I did notice and could not figure out, is I would go to the top 100 and I see . Open, Rust, Wally Wanker and Eddie in 1-4 places, I can't see Turbo, Dark or Tano at all? Using aliases? I actually shut it down and restarted it, to make sure it updated and it's still the same? Thanks for the tip, I'll make the account and sure to follow. BTW If you didn't have the streaming banner, I wouldn't have asked for the add, but thanks for accepting. Sorry for the repost, but I did a long post and everyone missed it on page 558, where I upgraded 1 step at a time the McLaren for the other tourney, to show the differences in time. It was interesting to see for a beginner. But I did ask some ??? as well, so sorry for the repeat ??? Some different questions??? I uploaded a friend's ghost, beat it yet did not get Ghost Hunter, Beat a friend Ghost Record? I uploaded My Ghost, Beat it but did not get Ghost Victory? What is the best track to get the 100 Obstacles Medal? any tips on beating the 1:08 in Nevada, I can't get lower than 1:085, I want that nitro boost prize - That ended so no biggie. I noticed in MP ??? Sometimes I'm in a race and ppl either are losing to me and have similar ranks then ppl quit, while they lose 10 points each, I may have gotten 1-2 pts? I had a race where it went down from 6 to 2 ppl, weird. Next, Is it my imagination, but if you're behind someone at a start, it seems like some guys actually hit the brakes to stop your forward motion then they take off. Seems like they are doing it on purpose, drives me nuts. always someone in a black SLS Merc. I float in between 1270 - 1350 points, which seems fine, since I happen to be going for the upgrades Can't remember winning more than 5 points for a long time. Last ?? I asked before but this is the only thread running, just keep adding here. I ask this because lately with the tourneys, I was searching for tips or old rundowns by you higher pros out there. For example, If I was looking for a rundown on Barcelona track, should I just go page by page until I come across a post by Turbo or 4118, etc from page 1 on? Is there or perhaps you guys can make a post, with links to old rundowns, as a paste maybe, would be really helpful. I watched Turbo live tonight and even picked up the exit from the tunnel, which would help me, since I usually turn and nitro, but when you see how smooth you guys nail it, it's something for us to practice. Lastly, I tried out that reflector which was awesome, should the movies be in .mov format and around 150megs each? Why we're making movies, why not have one of you top guys either separate or apart have an open youtube channel to upload to. Just going by the way you all talk to each other you feel like a group, then everyone will know where to go to see more of you, just an idea. Thanks Guys
I don't understand the fuel thing. I have a full bar, and racing in a tournament doesn't seem to change it. Is fuel only relevant for cars you don't own yet? (EDIT: No, it isn't. Turns out you get to pay for cars you already own as well.) Anyway, thanks for all those free boosters! Having collected all cars suddenly paid off in a big way. (EDIT: It's a trap.)
I have contacted Open东篱菊 to know more about his "Push Brain Limits" community. I wonder what's the test, and how man people will pass it. Sounds fun anyway. Keep you inform!
If you own the car, it does nothing. But if you don't, it gives you limited try's in the tournament and then it fills up. It'll become clearer when the new cars appear in tournaments because nobody will have them yet, but they won't cost anything to rent, they'll just use that fuel metre. But it is a very fair system. If you already own the car, it does nothing. If you don't own the car, it gives you the chance to compete in the tournament anyway. And when its a new car, it gives you the chance to compete without having to use credits. But in this case it has a double effect in that it does limit your opportunities to a certain degree so those with huge cash reserves will have less of a benefit over those new to the game or with limited cash reserves. So it serves as a balancing act as well. I know some might reject it as an energy system. That is not the case. It simply is designed to save you currency and to balance it out for newcomers to give them a level playing field against those with unlimited cash reserves who could simply run a tournament for a new car indefinitely. There was lots of feedback in those two areas, particularly opposition to rental fees on new cars, so they just listened and brought this system in to try and balance as effectively as possible. It looks like a very fair step to me anyway and a strong effort. Plus its a solid sign they are listening and investing a lot of effort in it. I'd imagine they are some unannounced tweaks to multiplayer MM as well so we will see how that plays out for people. I'm sure they'll want people's feedback in that area also but do try and give it a chance and a bit of time and be fair with it. Its obvious they care as much about the game as we do. Overall, this along with the garage rewards and whatever reward tweaks were made to TLE and multiplayer (unclear as yet as to what they entail, will have to wait and see) makes it an extremely balanced and very fair update. And of course, I almost forgot to mention, the new cars. Which will show up in the usual way of TLE's to win them and them buy later on I assume. @Fabien. As usual, a solid update and obviously a lot of thought towards balancing has gone in to. Pass on the usual thanks to Luis and the team and I look forward to the new cars. I can't wait to see what ye do next with it. Edit. Oh and obviously enough the update is out in case I wasn't clear. Don't forget to go to your garage (car icon on top) for your tier/grouping/class rewards.
Makes sense. Thanks for confirming my theory! (EDIT: Turns out the fuel tank does apply to cars you own. Someone at Gameloft really likes monetization.) Unrelated PSA: If you use the extra tank in multiplayer, I'll avoid you as best I can from then on. Paying to win is for the weak. EDIT 1: As for the nitro starter/tuning kit price hike (normalized for their respective durations), single-lap races just got way more interesting, because they'll help you make those boosters pay for themselves in multiplayer. EDIT 2: Wait a minute... Are all multiplayer races single-lap races now? That helps with paying for boosters (see above), but it seems to me that this will amplify the lottery effect, especially with faster cars. Personally, I'd rather have longer races than shorter ones. EDIT 3: After buying three nitro starters and two tuning kits for a total 25,500 credits to race for half an hour, I managed to break even just barely. I raced non-stop in a Mini at level 34, I won every single race, and I ended up with 3,000 credits more than I started with. But that was only thanks to monetary win streak awards. Had I gotten D class car upgrades instead, I wouldn't have made it. This deal is getting worse all the time. EDIT 4: Lost my first race against an extra tank at the beginning of another half hour stint. It's hard to convey how frustrating that is. EDIT 5: Got knocked out by the same guy again, after catching up to him twice. I couldn't avoid him, because he joined the race after I had already been locked in. His extra tank has now cost me 14 world series points, and I'm beginning to think that Gameloft has at long last achieved their long-term goal of ruining multiplayer for good. *sigh*
Guys, the iOS update is live over here: https://itunes.apple.com/fr/app/asphalt-8-airborne/id610391947?mt=8. Coming soon on other devices.
What are the prices for the handling booster, nitro starter and the tank doubler? I got a bunch stocked up so I can't see the prices
I also have some free ones in my bird accounts, so I'm afraid I can only tell you the prices at level 35: - nitro starter, 10 minutes: 5,250 credits - tuning kit, 15 minutes: 7,000 credits - extra tank, 4 hours: $1.99 — yup, cash only (When I did my first half hour stint at level 34, nitro starter and tuning kit were at 4,500 and 6,000 credits. Turns out level 35 is a price threshold.) The coin doubler remains unchanged. Rewards for winning multiplayer races appear to have decreased slightly, but I guess that's to be expected given that every race consists of only one lap now. By the way, it's funny how the new single-lap multiplayer (along with single-lap tournaments) makes some aspects of the tracks useless. For instance, in some of the Chinese tracks, you start on the covered bridge that has nitro containers on top. Previously, it was a viable option to jump on the roof to get those nitro containers as you started the second lap. Now they're merely ornamental.
I haven't played much so far so my opinion can change of course but by the first looks of thing I'm getting the completely opposite idea. Just the boosters alone Nitro - 5250 for 10 mins, compared to 15000 for 2 hours (2 hours will cost you 105.000 credits now) Handling - 7000 for 15 mins, compared to 40.000 for 8 hours (8 hours will cost you 224.000 credits now) Idk, so far I guess it feels like it is continuing down the path Gameloft took a while ago I'm really disappointed that there are no new tracks and single player events in the update Also don't kid yourself, that timer isn't there to save you credits, it is there to make you spend your real money. Same for the double nitro tank obviously and the double credit booster
Hi, new poster with a problem... I've just downloaded the new update, new symbol appeared and blue dot next to app, however, it won't open. I'm on iphone 5. Anyone else had this problem, or ideas how to fix? I don't want to lose everything! Thanks everyone.
