Sir I must commend your mind set on this one...but in the end I totally disagree for that race you gave the example for...because if he or she had more skill than you in that race...they would have won with out your help... they did not since they messed up and you helped them out. I my self would never do that...(no offense) now if some freak knockdown slash glitch put me there and I did not run them down via my skill or their mistake..then maybe...but I have had things like that happen to me a ton early on and you know what...I learned from them and in the end it made me better. I run to win and not to turn the fastest lap now and that is a massive key to multi player success. Again nothing personnel, if you are in my way you are going down...friend, foe...or joe blow...10-4.... I am not going to hunt you just to do this but if you put your self in my line then bye bye birdie, because in most cases you are not trying to be behind, you want to be way out front... I have had so many people in the past swerve out of control and get them selves knockdown just by actually getting in the way, I never even had that intent or line but they freak out and get killed for not just driving too No Problem man, I dont see you yet either. Trust me, for some reason it can take days and days. I dont know why but it does. I will show up soon enough. You are doing nothing wrong
I better watch out then But you get my drift. The main thing that pisses me off is when people DO go out of their way just to knock you down when they could just as easily have a faster lap time and first place without the knockdown
All of the stars! I has them! Still gotta get the Tuatara and upgrade about 40 cars...but still happy about it.
I respectfully disagree. I love that I have a set target for a race, rather than a moving one, so that when I post my best time, I know it's not going to be upset by anyone. Although, I did hit the targets for this one on my first round (<-- tooting my own horn), so maybe Gameloft should make the top number very difficult.
There's another perspective, too. If I'm starting a race and 1) I see someone else in the mix who I know is a good driver, and 2), they are beside or behind me in the starting pole, then I might try to wreck a lower class / slower car just to get the nitro boost. It depends on the track too. If Running Bird is in position 1, John Doe is in position 2, and I'm in position 3, and we're running Monaco Reverse, then my only chance to overtake Running Bird is to get a nitro boost from taking down John Doe. Call it collateral damage, if you like, but I'm in it to win it, and so is every other good driver in MP. P.S. I love you, Running Bird!
Nice work, CobaltBlue! I just upgraded my last car this week, and I can tell you, it's kinda anti-climactic. Now I get free upgrades in MP, but I can't use them. In some ways, I wish I was still chasing that goal, so enjoy the challenge while you can!
Precisely. The scenario where I do this most is when I start ahead of serious competition. They see me all the time, and they can plan their knockdown attempts on me carefully. If there's extra nitro available, I'll get it for two reasons: 1) I can put a little more distance between myself and the competition, which allows me to be faster later on. If, on the other hand, the competition is right behind you, you often have to defend yourself by choosing routes that aren't really the fastest. 2) If I don't take the nitro, the competition will, and they'll knock me down, depending on the track. If you're the car that provides the extra nitro in question, then I'm sorry, but this isn't about you. You weren't going to win anyway, and you can consider this your cue to look for a better multiplayer car. Another scenario where I will actually go out of my way to knock you down is if you start in front of me and brake/don't accelerate when the race starts. You're trying to make a third party win for reasons I can only speculate on, and I'll do my best to make you realize that this isn't a good idea. But my favorite knockdown-related activity is impersonating karma. If I start somewhere in the back and see that one of the cars in front of me is trying hard to knock down another car (e.g., by pushing them into the rails), I'll try to take out the aggressor, but not the other one. As outlined above, I don't really have any moral justification to do that, but the evil bastard in me likes to picture how they never saw that coming. ♥️ -- EDIT, and totally unrelated — here's another entry for my cowards list: The Mini driver whose name consists of six green squares will try to avoid you unless the odds are in their favor. They also glitch/spawn all over the place, but that might not be their fault. Oh, and speaking of green squares, you might want to avoid this one as well: Three green squares is a troll. It's a very good driver with an artificially low world series ranking. I just started behind them when they had the absolute minimum ranking of 700 points, trailed them through the entire race, and finished second: minus 15 points for me.
The chart of rewards for the tournament was very poorly structured. Why repeat the 1000k bonus for several times? And as this is a multi-day event, they should have put up some faster target times/bigger rewards. 1:01.00 is very easy to achieve with a maxed Lykan or Tuatara (presumably, as I still need to gather about 800 000 credits to finish maxing out mine ), but 1:00 and 0:59 are much more difficult. I know the current "leader" who put up 52 seconds is a dirty hacker, but I'd still be interested in knowing just how fast his car was going to allow him to get that time. Oh, and enough with that Silver Lightning/Iceland garbage. The Eco Cup just finished, and now you give us this?
@Turbo I completely understand you. It's really about survival and not just racing. There's a new cup in France. Go check it out,the time award is obtainable without boosters. Could somebody, or each day another person, list all the available cups? There are 2 ww cups, one Brazil and one France at the moment.
Hi all have been playing Asphalt 8 for several months. Just wondering if there is some kind of arrangement as to which position one starts within the MP races. The issue is that more often than not I keep starting from last place or close to last. I have a decent ranking score and am at the point where when I come second I am often losing 3-6 points. It is particularly annoying when starting against any good drivers as I basically have to play catch up for the whole race & hope they crash. I ask because sometimes I see someone like TANO or some other highly ranked racer starting at 1st place and me in last place for 4 straight races, and basically it leaves me chasing them for the whole race knowing that I am basically going to lose points in that race. I dont mind chasing from behind sometimes but is a bit ridiculous when 8/10 times I know I am going to start behind the best driver/drivers in the race. Furthermore some racers seem to continuously have a level 1 score (when I check out their details before the race), even though the continuously win and play in multiplayer , whereas mine by know is at level 85 and completely maxed out. I was wondering if the level you are at has any correlation to the position you start in. Also seen this 6 green boxes mini driver Running Bird is referring to, it was weird because somehow this guy always kept up with me even though I kept getting the nitros and he was right behind me the whole race through for several races something is dodgy there.
Ya it is strange that they have the rewards just repeating isn't it? That hacker in first, man that would have to be very fast and quick accelerating car to gain 6 seconds with in a 58 second run... and tehn to be able to control that? I wonder if they found some strange glitch/short cut/ hole in the map like the Spano tourney had instead. I have not seen that name up in the standings ever either which helps me think it was an accident of some kind. That is just not even close to possible. Wish I could tell you, but I know what you mean. I got started up front for so long and always wondered my self why I would get that lucky or even how. But after I passed 1700 that changed and it started giving me second and third row starts a lot. When you run against good folks if you are even in the second row life is hard for sure unless they make an error. Even as I dropped down while racing S class only now it still gives me a bunch of mid pack starts and that is far more channeling. Something Dodgy with anyone that can run really well ranked below 1250 even... Edit: oh and welcome
When I play with the Tuatara, I either end up happy or pissed off lol. Racing the Tuatara has shown me that the game can still surprise me with its randomness.
Game Impressions These 2 weekend tournaments are pretty uninspiring, in my opinion. I won't be playing this game again until Monday night. So here's my idea for a WW tournament that I think would be really fun/different: I'd like to see a 5-lap "Ironman" tournament. An event of this kind would reward consistency rather than just the execution of a near-perfect lap. 95 percent of A8 events consist of 1-lap, sub-90 second races in which you locate the "perfect" route for your car, and then run it ad nauseam until you execute it almost flawlessly. If you bump into a wall 18 seconds in and lose your perfect run, you click restart and try again. That gets old after 25 minutes. But a 5-6 minute, 5-lap race in which mistakes/wrecks are probable would deter that kind of response. It would force players to keep racing and hope to avoid further mistakes. And this should be a tough race; add heavy traffic/parked buses that change patterns in every lap. That's the kind of tournament I really want to see: one that rewards consistency through several minutes of difficult racing. (Just don't make it an S-class Iceland tournament. ) Also, for Asphalt 9, GL need to consider adding a WW Tournament points rating system so that the best time trial players can be recognized. You won't be seeing Mia Rose Winkler perched at the top there for 6 months, guaranteed.
LOL... Here here sir on manny fronts with in your post indeed! I would like to see what you have for an idea along with a much shorter duration for them...say over the course of a weekend you run event after event and use all tracks and routes (forward and Rev) but you do them in a 1hour sprint format. That will separate the men form the boys per say....Would be much harder for someone or us to get there with far less time I think. Now I am not sure that would be good for newer racers thought and your long one would be better I think. But you could even run the same idea with long run events but only run for two hours per track or something like that..... good stuff dude Trust me Iceland can take a flying leap I dont care what car IMO...LOL
Here, here. But it's part of the MP game and what I'm worst at. I suck at killing other cars. I am killed 10-1.
I like the change/variety. But B.A.G., did you get the target your first time with no boosts of any kind. I got all but under 1:01 not to toot my own lame horn.
Oh, and speaking of green squares, you might want to avoid this one as well: Three green squares is a troll. It's a very good driver with an artificially low world series ranking. I just started behind them when they had the absolute minimum ranking of 700 points, trailed them through the entire race, and finished second: minus 15 points for me.[/QUOTE] OUCH!, that kills.
