Mine were from tourney's... I have had S class maxed for some time, so all the TLE's I have received them in...I have had no were to use them till now.

Now the car is fast, but seems that it and the Lykan are very close in terms of final lap times IMO...now that does not mean that in multi player things may shake out different. But I was surprised racing my own ghost that in long straights when I was right behind my Lykan ghost in the Tuatara, I was not catching it hardly at all. I think this is good really, I am not a fan of cars out weighting others heavily like the Lykan did to the rest of the field.

As much as I want to post extensive impressions on the performance of the tuatara, I'll refrain in order to maintain competitive advantage. There are a few things I can say . . .

1). This thing is indeed very expensive to upgrade. Fortunately, I had enough freebies lying around from tles that all I had to buy were handling 3-5. That was still a lot of cash for the normally-cheap handling upgrades!

2). If anyone was hoping that this thing would make s class accessible to those who shy away from s class . . . it won't. I heartily recommend the gta spano to anyone that wants a car that isn't too hard to handle and can actually do okay in multiplayer. Sure, you'll get pwned by bobsleds, ageras, Lykans, and *gasp* the tuatara, but I have beaten higher-ranked cars with it and just had a plain ol good time driving it. You're more likely to get pitted against the sesto elemento instead, and that's an awesome matchup.

3). Asphalt 8 seems to have separate speedometers for certain s class cars (other classes may also have this problem). The veneno, spano, ruf, bobsled, and Lykan all perform about where you'd expect when compared to cars from other classes speed-wise. The fxx evolutione, agera, and tuatara seem slower than their speedometers would indicate. I am not sure where the Bugatti lies, but it's probably with the agera group. That being said, the tuatara is still faster than the Lykan or anything else.

4). So far I'm 16/18 in multiplayer with the tuatara, with the two losses being second place finishes . . . to other tuataras. There were a few others out there, and it was clear that the Lykans can sort of keep up early on in the race, but not later on unless the tuatara drivers make big mistakes.

In conclusion, all I can add is ,"sweet ride, Jerry, sweet ride."

Yes. Really. To each their own.

The 370Z is still my most used car, according to Asphalt's stats, by the way. But last time I checked after the great multiplayer snafu improvement, I got paired up with Survolts I couldn't possibly beat way too often. Besides, the Mini handles great, and I like its ironic qualities — a lot of manly man type racing gamers (a.k.a., brocers) wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. :D

In a way, multiplayer is actually the best it's ever been right now. It seems that these days, all the good racers are either in a Lykan/Tuatara, a Survolt, or a Mini. So most of the races are actual tooth and nail fights now, which means it's a lot of fun, and there's a reasonable balance between winning and losing world series points. Turns out that on average, you gain points way faster by participating in this kind of race than by torturing newbies.

It's just a pity that in a game with dozens of cars, only four of them seem viable.

    Meh.

I mostly race the Survolt in MP but don't have it anywhere near maxed. Think it's 1187. I know people have said it's fine to max it, but I kind of like where it is. There are occasionally other Survolts but it's a nice mix of roughly ~1200 rank cars. The only vehicle that can sometimes give me fits is the maxed Camaro in the hands of someone competent.

If I'm not on a win streak, I do mix it up and try out some other vehicles.

Hello I'm new here. I've been playing asphalt for 8months now and I am really impressed with how gameloft has put in effort to maintain the freshness of the game. I'm just quite puzzled why I don't receive double credits, nitro starters and tuning kit bonuses anymore. It's a bummer to just get a d class upgrade when I complete 9 winning streaks. Will on the bright side I've nearly fully upgraded all mu d class cars

That's clearly a mistake on the part of GL. The time should be 1:21.00.

That's a mistake. No car is close to that, some 1:17's but nothing closer I believe. For the Nevada, Speed vs. Skill cup, I'm having a hard time. I'm in the top 300 but I wonder if the path I'm taking has some parts where I could be faster. I'm running the cup with a 1479 Ford GT500 w/o boosts-(will max the car a little later-just spent everything maxing the SSC). I start out knocking down 2-3 cars, then getting the yellow Nitro. I then continue straight down the path with the 3 turns (one U-Turn). After the final turn, I go off (no barrel roll) and collect the yellow Nitro on the tractor trailer. I then Perfect Nitro and stay on the higher left road (collecting the yellow Nitro on the road), I go up the big ramp (no spinning) and collect the yellow NO2. The next path I turn to the more right path (no the one that to the far left but the one that leads to going on top of the bridge) , trying to drift as close to the edge. I PS No2 off the big ramp and go on the right side of the bridge (not flat spinning). I continue along a straight line. I go into the right tunnel, collect the yellow NO2 (going into the left tunnel), then back into the right and onto the side tunnel with 3 consecutive tunnels. I know my drifts could be quicker and loose a lot of speed there. Is my path OK and is there any way I can improve it?

I spent my first run up in rank driving an 896 Audi s4, which got me to 1400 or so before I couldn't win rank anymore (got the dreaded equals sign all the time). It seemed unbeatable at the time, but man it was slow. The z is a little bit more exciting, and despite what you might think, most of those ~1200+ survolts can be beaten, albeit with some difficulty. The trouble comes from boosted Audi tts coupes which are hard to beat, and the ford focus rs which is unstoppable when you're in a z.

My aversion to the mini is that it's sort of a ringer car, as is the survolt. You can't really touch it, to the best of my knowledge, unless you're in another mini. Granted, the tuatara is the same way right now and forever more, but that beast is another story altogether.

If I wanted to step back and race something that is not a tuatara/Lykan right now, it'd be something unloved like the Mercedes black or the spano or . . . the urus perhaps.

On the flip side, most of the other cars are being driven by nubs or nobody at all. Try taking either ruf out and see what you get. I was beating plenty of ageras and Lykans - mostly unboosted - with the fxx evolutione, ruf ctr 3, and spano. It wasn't constant victory since any boosted Lykan with a decent driver would beat me, but there were enough weak drivers around to make it interesting.

Depends on your definition of viable. You can actually win maybe 66% - 75% of races in any car out there, with the exception of the total failures like the viper or the fx50. You will cap out at around 1400-1500 rank, though. Maybe lower.

The survolt et al give you a shot at a 100% win rate, barring opponents with the pole running perfect laps all the time.

Meh all you want. I was robbed of my chance at enjoying being one of the few to have a Lykan after the Lykan tournament by hackers who were ruining a significant number of mp games. There's less of that now, and I've noticed some high-rank tuatara drivers out there suffering control problems in mp.

I can understand why, too. It isn't identical to the Lykan in handling, but it definitely has some control problems, especially some problems that are map-specific.

I only get this fun for maybe another six days, and then I'm just another chump with an expensive car. I'm holding off on tactical data until after it becomes ubiquitous, if then.

Can someone tell me what the heck is going on? Gameloft didn't remove these cheaters! NO wonder honest people have a hard time at the tournaments.

I'm sure I'm missing the LaFerrari prize claim, but it didn't appear. The Ruf prize appeared though. I have been without internet for 4 days. Could it be that I lost the chance of claiming the price? Am I the only one with this issue?

That's true, with the exception of the occasional talented Clio driver and some very rare infinite acceleration Survolt cheaters. However, there's another fully upgraded and boosted Mini in almost every race, often even two or three of them. That's more serious (but fair!) competition than I've seen with any other D- or C-class car outside of the Survolt. (EDIT: On second thought, the Survolt is actually a B class car.)

No doubt. And yes, I think our definitions of viable are indeed different. You seem to be fine with having to put up with cars you can't beat somewhat regularly, and I commend you for it. I, on the other hand, get cranky when I don't get a fair shake. If the points algorithm balanced for that, it wouldn't be as bad, but it doesn't.

Those 100% are a theoretical concept, though. I actually lose more races than ever now, because as mentioned earlier, there are a lot of good Mini drivers out there. I don't mind that, though, because if you're better than me, then you deserve to win, and I'll trail you and try to learn from you.

Besides, you'll most likely have a decent world series ranking, so losing against you won't be as painful in terms of points as losing against a dilettante in a ridiculously superior car either.

(Once you're coming close to the top, it's always a downhill fight, unfortunately. You probably remember that from when you were at 1800 points. I've only ever raced against one of those 10 drivers that are currently ahead of me in the world series. I never found out which cars the others drive. And they all seem to have stopped playing now, while I plan on making my comeback as Running Bird as soon as I feel like I've gotten the hang of the Mini, now that I've found it. Meanwhile, Sneaking Bird will probably break into the top 100 within the next few days as well. Then, with two entries in the top 100, I'll be a junior Tano! :D)

Fair enough. I won the Lykan and all of the other recent tournament cars, so I've been there. And I understand that it's nice to be able to celebrate your success sometimes.

I do hope that you'll publish your "tactical data" eventually, though — not for my sake, because while I'll probably buy the Tuatara as a collector's item, I won't race it much. It's an S class car, after all, which isn't my favorite class to begin with, and it's not even one of the more enjoyable S class cars in my opinion (see below).

But it's been part of this discussion's spirit, if you will, that everyone tries to help out each other. If you ask me, it's more fun this way. I'd also feel bad about taking anyone's advice if I didn't try to give back whenever I can. And there's so much great advice in this thread!

Yup. I ran the tournament once, because I wanted to know what the car was like, and it reminded me of the Ferrari FXX. It's hard to express what exactly it is that I don't like about these cars, but it's more than just twitchiness. The Agera is twitchy, too, for example, but I like it much more.

How about this: The FXX's and the Tuatara's steering is too boat-like for my tastes.

So I was racing MP in China...forget which track...but I hit the left barrel roll in the red pavement hill plaza that takes you under the overhang. I must've hit it at a wonky angle because I started rolling at a furious pace with quite a lot of air. Ended with a 10x barrel roll. Wish I'd thought to snap a pic.

Also, I forgot to mention that I finally picked up the RUF RT 12 S the other day. Had been getting sidetracked for months with other stuff. Gotta say that even at level 2 upgrades...it's a smooth ride. Very responsive. I'll eventually keep upgrading it and then see how it'll fare in MP.

Oh, and Canada and Australia are the only country specific tournaments at the moment, right? Feel like France and Italy haven't had any in a while...after having at least one almost continuously.

Hello everyone, I'm a major latecomer to this game, I am having a ton of fun, wish I picked this up earlier! I have been playing for about a week now, and I have a couple of questions.

    1) What is the recommended car progression? I play more multiplayer than single player, so I just need competitive cars. So far I have: Most of the class D cars, the Survult, and the Audi Sportback. The few class D cars I don't have will be easy to get if I need them. Nothing is upgraded

    2) Which of the car packs is the best value? I have $30 on my iTunes account, so the Supreme isn't really in my reach, but any of the others are fine.

Thanks in advance, hope to soon be racing with the best of you!

    Hi SpiderMonkey!

I'd recommend taking a look at the post histories of some of the regular contributors — Turbo 343 and Rip73 have posted on the topic, as has Dark-Zero, if I remember correctly. If you ask me, though, it doesn't really matter. Even if your focus is on multiplayer, rather than getting all 1050 stars, you'll eventually want all cars anyway. Collecting cars is addictive.

The good news is, your focus on multiplayer will guarantee a steady income, so getting all cars is a realistic goal. If I were you, I'd just buy whatever I'm most curious about at any given time.

As a fellow multiplayer fanatic, here are a few somewhat affordable higher-class cars I'd recommend for multiplayer:

    - Ferrari 599XX
    - McLaren 12 Spider
    - Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

(And then there are the classics like the Survolt and the Lykan, but those are mentioned on every single page of this thread anyway.)

I'm afraid I've never done the math on these, but my gut feeling says that if you can commit to longer gaming sessions within 24 hour intervals, getting a couple of Double Credits boost might be the best investment. You still have to work for your credits, but you'll make progress faster, it's more fun, and you don't have to spend a larger amount of money up front. Instead, you buy those boosts as you go.

There is one caveat, though: If you ever decide to restart your career, the boosts will be gone, while car packs appear to be restorable. But Asphalt stores your progress in the cloud, and if you combine that with a local backup of your device's settings, I'd say the risk is tolerable.

Nothing says Victoria Day (a Canadian national holiday) like a leaderboard in which 90 of the top 100 spots are occupied by Chinese drivers. To hell with the monarchy anyway; it's a dumb/pointless theme for a gaming tournament. Anyhow, it's really annoying to see a bunch of Chinese symbols next to Canadian flags.
