I'll take my tuatara in orange, please. So people are sort of talking about mp again! Good. First, hacker crap: 1). Haven't seen any more AE-style group wrecks lately, but if have had some cars hit the pavement while driving along so violently that it shook the car. Have had a few wrecks like this. A bad spot seems to be before/after the final sharp turn on London eye. 2). Saw a guy use an old hack in mp that let him accelerate without nitrous during the opening three second countdown. Same guy sort of sank inside the lead car and seemed to piggyback him through the entire race without being on the map. He later separated when the lead car wrecked. His name was all [][] crap. 3). It technically isn't a hack, I don't think, but there are plenty of people abusing the super-fast Audi rs4 acceleration "feature". I can't replicate it myself, but boy I sure saw it. I'm looking at you, [][]Tano[][]. In other news, I did almost a hundred join-quits and dumped rank to drop myself to 700 and see what it was like down there on the bottom. Some interesting notes: 1). At 700 rank, I was something like #7800000 worldwide. That means there are over 7.8 million mp records active on the database. Are they staying active due to actual mp activity? I don't know. 2). I raced a bunch of different cars of class c and up. Class d was too boring, spent too much time in the z anyway. As always, racing against survolts was a problem, so I can't say the countache or db9 were a blast, though I did give people some headaches. Nobody expects the maxed, boosted countache. Also, despite some very strong showings, the Maserati was and is no match for the Audi rs4, though I came darn close to beating some boosted audis in the granturismo sport. Despite their deficiencies, almost any cars slated for races vs the survolt or rs4 were still good for a lot of 2nd place finishes, at least in my hands. The real losers were the fx50, the viper, and the ruf rt 12 s. The fx50 gets pitted against maxed survolts that destroy it (and me) mercilously. Better handling , acceleration, top speed, and nitrous = I lose. The viper was sort of fun to drive, and I did cause some problems, but the 599xx was just too much. It was sort of the same story with the ruf, though I must admit that I did win a few in there. I might need to take the f12 Berlinetta out to see how bad it is. The servers are starting to be less generous now that my rank is back over 1300 though . . . Happily, just about everything else I tried worked out, and that was with me mostly avoiding ringer cars like the mcclaren f12 or sesto elemento. The spano was awesome . . . I beat a boosted 1655 Lykan with it a few times, which was good for teh lulz. And somehow I was beating boosed sestos in the zonda r, but the drivers didn't seem that good . . . Anyway, I think Gameloft has done some tweaking here and there on mp. The overall feeling I got from it was that I could takes a large selection of boosted cars out there and win, with some struggles in some cars and few problems in others. Only a small handful were irredeemable losers, with the fx50 coming in as the big stinker. Lete's see if that holds up at 1600+ rank if/when I get back there. Would still like to see an mp feature that someone else in here suggested where people gets put in random cars and race that way. As an addition, Gameloft could charge small rents to people who don't own the car, maybe an amount equal to what they woulda earn getting fifth place in multi, make it scale up with level along the earnings curve. People who own th car but don't have it maxed could pay a small percentage foe the rent instead. Just a thought.
Top 100 in WW...yeah...can't imagine that happening...especially on one of my least favorite tracks (Iceland). Hard to ever get a clean run there. Might take a shot or two to get everything else...but can't think I'll get the car, so might as well save for it instead of burning rental credits.
Tuatara and Gallardo only tournaments running at the moment? Few weeks ago, we usually had 6-8 at once. Also attached the pics of me losing 13 points and then a pic of me losing 4 points for coming in second to a guy with a slightly better ranking. Had some other frustrating moments when I got disconnected right before I could finish winning an MP race (thus losing me 10 points and trashing my win streak) and then another where a guy just suicide jockeyed into me at the beginning of French Guiana. He rammed me sideways into a wall with his Bentley and just stuck me there for about 8 seconds. No wrecks and couldn't nitro out of it...eventually had to fully reverse.
I just spent over 100,000 credits on renting the Tuatara, and the best I could manage was a disappointing 1:35.605. I kept on bumping into the walls in the tunnel. The worse thing is, in the second to last roof jump before the finish line, my car kept on doing a semi-barrel roll and crashing when I simply leapt off the edge (in 10 runs, it happened to me 4 times). That has never happened to me before with any other car. I guess I'll have to gather the 600,000 credits this car will probably cost. It's probably going to take at least a 1:33.9 to make the top 100.
Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum (and, obviously, this thread) and I decided to join in, since the community looks so nice. First of all, I really like Asphalt 8. I've always been a fan of arcade racing games, but this one takes the cake. Sure, MP is kinda screwed up now, but I still have fun races from time to time. So yeah, good job Ryan and Fabien, as well as the whole GL team. On the the current TLE, I'm high up on the SSC Tuatara tournament on Android (luckily), but I don't think it will last for long. You need to drive clean and tight for a good time (I'm around 1.34.6xx, but can still be improved). I also might have kicked Master Driver out of the top 100 in the process. Sorry pal
That happens quite often, depends on the car. I think it's usually best to hit the first two blues, barrel roll and get off the shelf and nitro to the FL.
I dont think that if you can make it under 1:34:00 and it will secure a spot in top 100. At least you have to make it close to 1: 33:00. It still left 3 days and the competitors are going to get better records. I rather buy double credit and earn more money to buy it.
Sounds like we are on the same page, but I just have a different way of wording it. As someone who is very competitive either in games or in traditional sports, I completely understand.
Everyone here, should i drop myself to the point of 700? Or should i continue to race with my current points? Seems like i'm stuck with my ranking?...
Hi, I'm new too ^^ Talking about the SSC Tuatara tournament.. Well, the best lap in windows 8 is an outstanding 1:27, 6 seconds less than the 2nd. The same guy win the previous world tournament. Really,I don't think that time is possible "normally",plus he use only the nitro boost . I give up,better start saving money and get the SSC by myself.
I know right? The hardest map on the game. Thanks Gameloft lol. Yeah, I've wasted a lot of money so far. Im going to make sure i improve my time, im going to get this car. Welcome Yes, this is one of the hardest tournaments i've played in. The competition because of the Chinese players is hard. Are you talking about multiplayer? Its probably a hack. Try to report him to Gameloft or they might just get the person themselves.
It's funny how much more competitive the TLE's become when a car is a prize. I switched from worldwide to a small country to improve my rankings. I can usually swing top 50 now, but I'm going to be lucky if I can get top 2500 on the SSC TLE. That said, I also tend to do really poorly in the S class Iceland events for some reason.
If you have nothing to lose, go ahead. If you care about the rank, you probably shouldnt. I think we all do poorly in S class Iceland events lol. Fast cars and the tunnel of Iceland dont go too good together.
