It might be, but the other things he was rating were 4.5 too. But it's possible too because I've seen a 148apps review a game 5/5 with only one feature 5/5. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I am guessing you either got the game early, or having been playing solidly since it was launched! Finished as in 100% stars, 100%cars? Also did you use any IAP?
i've rebooted my device before i fired up A8 the first time and got no drops at all. This changed after i opened some apps and then got back to the game. Maybe a reboot may help u out on this issue. Not jailbroken, btw.
That's the thing I've noticed with all the Steel Media Ltd publications such as Pocket Gamer, 148apps, and Appspy (everybody knows they're all owned by the same company, right?) On plenty of the Pocket Gamer Podcasts, these hosts would complain about how the games didn't look as good on their ipad 1 or 2. Then they would complain about how they wished their podcast could cover Android games. Then you would see "Sponsored Features" across their publications for stories about how Android is beating the heck out of iOS. http://www.appspy.com/sponsored/7645/sponsored-feature-what-android-apps-won-in-the-race-against-ios Next thing you know, one of the hosts of the PG podcast is saying that all games should be free to pay freemium. Makes sense since the previous main host of the podcast had left to work for the "media relations" department of the CSR Racing dev. This guy must have been auditioning. So, there are these weird revolving doors in the business, and mysteriously there is a push to Android and Freemium, which go hand in hand, and thus cheaper devices, which oddly all their reviewers seem to have or be able to afford. So, take all of those Steel Media's reviews with a giant grain of salt, there is simply no way to know what they're attempting to manipulate behind the scenes or which sponsor they're doing it for. Within the past two months, their podcast has now become "multi-platform" rather than iOS specific. Can't imagine why.
Remember to close all apps by double tapping the home button before rebooting. Apps in the taskbar will actually still take up resources after a reboot.
Running on iPhone 5? Anyone playing this on a iPhone 5 with up to date software how's it running for you so far?
Am I the only one who is having difficulties drifting? It was easy to drift on Asphalt 7 and below, but this one a lot of times just refuses to enter drift, instead it just breaks...
Quite a few comments over the pages saying they have had frame drops, however I played it on an iPad mini with no issues Brake and steer, works for me I have the electric Audi from class D (yes I am sill at season 1) they do have a strange noise, also no gear shifts, and as I said previously How does Nitro work on an electric car
Yeah but in Asphalt 7 it was so easy to enter drift, was literaly just in a second, and the drift would continue. In A8 besides being much more difficult to enter drift, the drift isn't hold if you don't keep pressing the steer. In terms of gameplay I really preferred Asphalt 7. Also in A8 the maps sometimes are way too confusing, one doesn't understand where they are.
This 10 times worse than the Audi. There's almost no sound. Lol Don't ponder the nitro part too hard. The non-electric cars in this game shouldn't be able to use nitro either. They all have electric fuel injections.
Multiple paths are not somewhat equal and get annoying. Really like a lot about this game. However, I hate being in 1st with no one tailing and then boom, out of nowhere I'm last because I "didn't" take a shortcut. Motorstorm had many paths that had some similarity to length keeping it competitive. A8 only has one "winner's" path.
.. I'm getting this continuous feel that the touch screen control setup is screwing you all. Drifting is easy for me. Maybe it's my tilt controls or maybe I just understand it. The trick is to flick, I'll say nothing more.
Tilt controls to drift are pretty spot on, the hard part is coming out of a drift, in 6 and 7 as long as the car was lined up with the road you usually came out of a drift, in 8 you can drift in a straight line because it thinks you are trying to steer all the time, you have to either brake again or nitro to get grip back and this is rather annoying at times.
Don't nitro out of a drift unless you're cornering It'll throw you into a wall. Just tap the brake again to edit a drift.
Also the touch controls UI usability has dropped significantly because they pushed the brake inwards to near the bezel which makes it very hard to hit it because it doesn't follow the normal shape of the thumb. Here's two images, one from A7 and other from A8: Notice the brake is more to the left in A7 since it's where the thumb lies naturally.
