Can't believe how cool this game is and all for 69p, my new favourite racer on iPad. Reminds me of the first time I played burnout or something it's that same kind of crazy exciting racing.
Well, i've played it for an hour now and oh my god it's absolutely awesome. Graphics-wise A8 blows everything and i mean seriously everything completely out of the water. It's jaw dropping visuals. I thought RR3 is the maximum a mobile device can handle...i was so wrong. I rly don't know how they did it. Gameplay is fun as hell and the tracks offer so much variation. The soundtrack is one of the best i've ever heard in any racing game. I'm by far not the biggest gameloft fan but i think this is probably the best game they have ever made, imo. This for 0.89...laughable, in a positive way. (Runs ultra smooth on iPhone 5)
Did somebody fall asleep at Gameloft? So shocked that this is a $.99 game. Works just fine on the mini so far. Back to some rippin and tearin on the streets.
Same here, i'll moan when they mess up (Dungeon Hunter 3, 4 wasnt great either) but i will praise them when they release a great game like this which 'seems' lite on IAP's. Having a lot of fun so far, a bargain
How good are those stage flourishes!! Rockets taking off, planes flying overhead and giant robots doing the "Intergalactic". It's the perfect environment to do double backflips into rivals while doing 220 in your bright purple Merc while listening to Queens of the frickin Stone Age!!
Here's my take. Standard controls are brutally slow. Had to jack the sensitivity to 75 to get the a7 feel. On iphone 5 and noticed some frame rate drops. Great looking game but the frame drops have to get fixed.
While I'm loving the hell out of this on my 4S, has it pretty much been confirmed that the game sucks ass on an iPod Touch 4? Was going to tell my son about it, but he'll be pissed if it runs like crap.
I'm a little bit late here, but for those with older iDevices, here's how it runs on an iPod Touch 4: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
OH! Finally got a rest from all of these A8 craziness. I can't believe I played for straight 4 hours! I've ate food of course Damn it this game is insane! But still I've noticed a few "I don't likes" from A8.. Gameloft Ryan, take note: 1. no sense of speed, going 200 kmh feels like 60 kmh 2. need a little bit more anti-aliasing but I understand because I'm using iPad 2 3. can't hear any engine sounds, I only hear high pitched sound going higher as I accelerate. But I think I can barely hear the car if I place my ear next to the speaker. But besides, the game is 5/5 for me. FRIKIN' GREAT! ... going back to play again ...
Hopefully the devs get it fixed soon so he can just be pissed off at you for not understanding him like everyone else his age
I had no idea QOTSA was on there, but it's also the same song that was on Motorstorm: Arctic Edge Gaahh...so many good memories...this game is so awesome
I like the revving of the engine when you start a race. Love how all the cars are available right off the bat, you just need to save up for them. For those who complain about the handling of the cars when they start playing, that is one of the aspects of the cars you need to upgrade so of course cars that are not upgraded are going to be harder to control. Liking the game so far. Works awesome on my iphone 4s. More impressions later when I'm not at work.
I installed the game on both my iPad and 4th-gen iPod Touch, and it isn't too bad on the smaller device. A lot of the special effects are disabled, naturally, and it does feel a bit like playing a current-gen game on a last-gen PC framerate-wise, but it's entirely playable, as you can see from Kleine's video. My only real issue with the game on the smaller screen is that it can be considerably more difficult to pick out the tiny paths and shortcuts on some of the tracks, but once you've figured out where they are, that shouldn't remain such a problem.
Don't worry mate, i'm playing this on my dear old iPhone 4 and it looks and runs great... To be honest, i didn't expected it to run this smooth on my old device. They did a great job, so no question you have to get it on your iPhone 4! And btw, this game is a lot of fun!
I fell asleep early last night because I was so tired. Anyways, I tried to stay awake just to get this game as soon as it came out, but as I said I fell asleep anyways. Well, I woke up early, between 4:30am and 5. I downloaded the game and started playing. By 6:00am I had already unlocked Season 2 (inludes new maps\tracks) and had purchased 3 cars, one being the Scion. At this rate, I see no need to purchase IAPs. I was able to get first place and complete the challenges fairly easy. Love what they did with this game. It is a lot of fun. It is definetly different than A7. I think I will keep them both on my ipad. BTW, I am using an Ipad mini and it handled the game well.
Picked this up last night for my iPad Mini and again this morning for my Shield. The game looks stunning on the Shield and is fully compatible with the controls in case anyone is interested. I think Gameloft nailed it with this one!
