Wow ! Some heavy discussion going on regarding the mp system ! It definitely needs a system that caters for all skills, taste ( cars ), and preferences in a fair and unbiased manner.

Would it not be a simple option to have players select class, cars ( like we select race type and location ) ( random selection in each class ) with majority deciding the race, the cars would all be of the same ranking ( either all maxed or matched with the lowest car ranking in the race ) there would be advantages to this....

    A. All players would be encouraged to drive various cars on a regular basis to develop a race advantage... The foundations are already there from the single player mode.

    B. races will become equal for everyone apart from individual driving skills

The only difficulty to the above would be that not everyone has every cars available depending on how long they have been playing in such case do you either:

Make every car on mp ( only ) available to all.... ( has many disadvantages and advantages which I will not list however will differ from person to person )

    Or

If a certain car is selected which the player does not posses they re-enter the room until a match is found... ( this can be highly frustrating to newbies however IMHO newbies needs to concentrate on completing single player mode to up their skills before access to mp, otherwise they are likely to get slaughtered anyways ( generally speaking ) it's only the hackers that thrive in mp with little experience / skill...

I am a firm believer that everyone should be given the same foundations, it should be the skills, creativity and passion that will forge the difference and the true elite.

    Just a thought.....

Anyways has anyone come across these clowns ( Algeria-1 and Algeria-2 )...( image attached )...they always seem to be tied ( next to each other in tourneys, in mp races ) does not seem natural, and too often to be a coincidence .....also gave me a hard time in mp...

Finally I would like to add players from the forum as friends so that I can further improve my driving skills, if you are cool with this, can someone inform me on how to do this please...

Those two are most likely the same person under two different accounts. Unless you have run into them at the same time in Multi player?

Feel free to add me, go to game center and the circle that says friends touch it and when that menu comes up at the top hit the + and type in my user name and give a simple "met you on TA" message and I will happy to accept it :)

My GC name is exactly the same as I am on here

I like your idea, to have people pick a class and the car is randomly selected. There is one problem that im not sure how to fix. What about when people pick a class you dont necessarily like? I think it would be a better idea to have players select the class they want to race in before being put in a lobby. Then the cars (allow 2 different cars to be in the bracket) will be randomly selected and is maxed for all players. Or something like that.

I smack Algeria-1 in multiplayer all the time, you would think he'd leave the lobby when i join lol. Hey, he is easy points to me since he is ranked 1500-1600.

Like how turbo mentioned, add me also or if its too confusing, give me your name and i'll add you. My GCid is vDarkZero

See this is the bigger problem IMO
This guy got thrown in with the Lykans in P1 and no boosters with the rank he is? It's bad enough when it does it due to rank but this seems un fair to racers no matter rated level....

My opinion on the tourney vs cost of playing them debate, here's my opinion:
As of tonight, I have played this game for a total of 9 days and 13 hours. It's an insane amount of time and it took me a long time to get where I'm at now. I have over 15 million credits and every car is maxed out (I wish some of them weren't maxed) so I have no problem paying for the boosts or anything like that. I see how it can be tough to start out, but we have all been there before when we started. The fact is, you can easily make up the money for the boosts in the tourneys. For example, the new tourney takes just over a minute to complete and you get about 3500 credits each time you win. That means you can get the 15000 credits that the nitro boost cost in about 4 runs. Even with the loading time before and after the race, you can easily finish those 4 runs in under 8 minutes so it pays for itself very quickly. The nitro and the car boost will cost you 55000 credits which comes out to about 15 races. Those can be won in under 30 minutes so everything you win after that for the next 1.5 hours (for nitro) and 7.5 hours (for car boost) is all a bonus.
These tourneys where you can finish the race in a minute is where you can really gain a lot of money. When I first started playing, I spent a dollar to get the double credits for the day. I easily made well over a million credits in that day by running these quick races so it can be done. Just keep playing and you will all eventually end up like those of us who have played this game for far too long.
I love this game. It is by far the best free racing game I've ever seen. There are many aspects that frustrate me (like the now horrible mp mode, the cheaters, etc) but it is great overall. Just keep playing hard and you should be just fine at the end. Good luck!

    Totally agree

Accee's idea has potential because I've alot of cars wasting away in the garage, the cars you needed for SP, but never have a use for afterwards. If MP could utilize them or better still, I would welcome the ability to sell a Car, even if it had a very poor resale value.

I've read alot of proactive ideas on here regarding the MP sytem. Gameloft should be impressed that there are passionate players with really good clear, easy to implement ideas. I would be good to hear that some of these ideas might be put into practise, and soon.

And in celebration of the great F150

A man pulled up next to a little girl walking home from school and said "If you get in, I'll give you a lollypop." The girl kept walking. Following along slowly, the man said "Come on and get in the car with me and I'll give you two lolly pops." She kept her eyes on the sidewalk and continued on her way. The man said "Get in with me and I'll give you this whole bag of lollypops!" Finally, the girl turned and said "Look daddy, YOU bought the Ford, YOU ride in it!!!"

    Regards

I would also like to see an option to sell cars that you own. They really just sit there with no use after a while

They increased the car prices for android and they are saying the cars are on sale. RUF ctr 3 for 180k now but on sale for 100k which was its original price. Same for my other cars. This is stupid...

What are you dudes racing for the High A-Class Cup -- berlinetta or the Pagani Zonda? I'm stuck at 1:03:162, and I'd really like to get lower.

    Here's my route / approach:

    1) triple nitro off the line, avoid collisions, and flat spin off jump

    2) grab gold nitro, regular (i.e. not triple) boost through right-hand tunnel, straight jump to upper shelf

    3) keep right at upper shelf, hit jump with gold bottle, stay left at fork, collect two blue and one gold nitro, and fall back down into the valley

    4) stay on right side of sloping shoulder, collect three blue nitros, and blast to the finish.

Any suggestions for fine-tuning this route? I have nitro firing at all times, no drifting (apart from lining up the gold-bottle jump in step 3). Or is it a matter or running the race 100 times until a thousand small efficiencies add up to 1/100th of a second?

EDIT: I'm using the berlinetta -- don't have the zonda maxed yet...

EDIT2: maxed out the zonda, but ended up getting to 1:02:7x with the berlinetta. Lesson = be patient.

Here here! I agree with all of the above. I have 5+ days of playing time, but I remember how difficult the grind seemed when I started out. For all you guys just starting out or maintaining a casual relation to the game, you'll actually hit a point where the credits start rolling in more or less effortlessly. Do like JMart says: play the tourneys enough to make back your investment. And if you play mp enough (all issues aside), you'll level up to 85, where you'll make 6500 per win. Not bad scratch for an hour's worth of playing.

I do your route the same, i think the only difference is I triple boost majority of the map. I use the Zonda.

You are forgetting the part where I have to spend hundreds of thousands of credits to even get my car competitive. For a one day tournament. That gives me shitty prices, even if I do really well. So yeah, the boosters are only a fraction of the costs of participating.

And that is my main problem, tournaments pretty much serve no purpose what so ever besides squeezing credits out you. While they could be so much more and a huge draw for the game, because competing for the best times is a lot of fun, it shouldn't be so hard.

I dont do this route comletley. Triple nitro a bunch in this map too. But Dark already mentioned that.

After the jump and gold I go straight up the hill with perfect nitro you get all the way with no jumping needed....Right hand big jump at dragons off the hill really low and triple to actuall launch you off that hill... triple to fall into berm...triple to get blue and micro drift to go right and get blue #2.... at the same time.....grab last blue under perfect nitro to finish.

Cant look now but, I am at 1.02.3xx in the Zonda and I can run it in the Berta 1.02.5xx using this route.

At start you can up or down...if you go up you need to triple boost after the spin and after it shuts off mid tunnel...you need to be clean to also triple to jump with gold. We had a guy last I checked first thing this morning at 1.02.2xx and that for me is gotta be maxed. I am having a hard time replicating what I have up as it is.

    Good luck

For me they were still a draw, it was a big motivator for grinding away to get credits to upgrade cars so that I could compete. I never found this bad or out of the ordinary?

Because the balance still made sense back then.

The prices in tournaments were better, so were the prices for MP win streaks.
That all made a huge difference

When I started in the Tourney's I used the money earned through season play....not multi. I was just about done with seasons before I ever played multi.

    You are welcome man:)

Even with the extra earnings that come with the stars, that is no way enough to support the hundreds of thousand that you need for competing in a daily tournament with the structure it had now.

You keep argreeing with everything I say but then completely defend Gameloft with pretty much nothing besides the fact that you did it, so it is possible. I know it is possible but fact is, it is ridiculous that I should have to spend 200+ hours playing so I have my cars all upgraded and I have millions in credits before I stand a fair chance in competing in the tournaments. They should make it more accessible, the balance is way off and it is hurting the game because it turns players away and it shuts out so many people from enjoying and competing in that part of the game.

Well, that's the nature of the beast -- where beast refers to freemium games. Your choices in A8, as with many top-rated (and top-grossing) iOS games right now, are 1) grind away for hours to get small performance-based rewards, or 2) in-app purchases. If you're dead set against the former, then you'll have shell out for the latter. Console-based games are heading this way too.

Gameloft, after all, isn't in the business of engineering fair chances for everyone. And yet, in my opinion, they've struck a good balance between playability and profitability. As I mention in a previous post, you can grind away, but at a certain point, the credits will come much easier. Every step you advance in multiplayer and in the seasons corresponds to an increase in rewards. So if you don't want to pay to be competitive, and if you're on the fence about grinding it out, then keep what I've said here in mind.
