Just racing as usual The third is pretty good, but i lead all the way from start to finish When i look how much point i've got, i'm shocked
Oh I know but it is still no fun I just hopped in for a round and right out of the gate had a stupid suicide jockey try and take me out.....But he failed....it was close though.....still it was enough that I said thats good for tonight and stopped playing. Maybe more tomorrow night.
There's not much I can add to what Turbo 343 said, other than this maybe: I think that's the problem right there. Money isn't an issue for those of us who actually like(d) multiplayer. Multiplayer allowed me to buy and upgrade all cars and still have millions of credits to spare. If you don't enjoy multiplayer, on the other hand, then yes, I can see how you'd never have enough credits. Repeating career mode events is boring, and it doesn't pay well, compared to winning multiplayer races. Granted, it was easier for me back then, because the game didn't have tournaments yet (IIRC), so if you wanted to keep playing Asphalt after completing career mode, multiplayer was pretty much your only choice anyway. Unfortunately, someone at Gameloft realized that running multiplayer servers for players who would never need to buy any IAPs was a losing business. So they made multiplayer frustrating and shifted the game's main focus to tournaments. It's a very different game now, but my advice (which you never asked for) would still be to learn to love multiplayer. They improved the Lykan a lot in the last minor update (it's glued to the ground now), so if you like racing S class cars, multiplayer can still be fun.
Good news: they lowered the price of the Challenger Bad news: win streak prizes appear to have gotten crappier (it appears no more boosters and only specific category upgrades) I have to agree with Stoppi...the prizes in these one-days suck. The cars you're competing against are maxed, so you need at least mid-level top car (and possibly boosters) to get 1st place for ~3.6k credits. The good news is that they're one lap races, but for the slow cars and longer levels, that can still be like 2mins. (A re-race option would be really appreciated.) What this means is that until you meet the decent min required for 1st, it's almost pointless to race it more than once (to get the 2k credits for finishing the race) since your earn rate is going to be super low compared to doing other races. Multiplayer is fun and all...but I mostly do it for the win streak prizes...which requires boosters basically (I can fortunately typically get by with top 3 on just nitro)...which means potentially leaving them out of the win streak prizes puts a major damp on my desire to play it. My favorite part of the game is career...which I'd almost completed when China came out...so I do appreciate it adding a lot of incentive to keep playing. However, I've somewhat ground to a halt in my progress since I can't earn any more stars with my current vehicles and don't have the credits for most of them unless I want to grind a bunch. How y'all have millions of credits, I don't really know. Some of us weren't around when they were regularly giving away 2x credit boosters. (I've seen and got one once.) My typical routine...play once per day to keep my 100% bonus going. I race the last Lykan race for like 9.5k credits. I then play the tournaments a little or a lot depending on what value they have. If I need boosters or want to work on my D/C/B upgrades, I play some multi. I don't really have aspirations of being the top multi player or maxing every car, but I do hope to eventually get all of the stars in career. I know it may sound like I'm complaining a lot for what is essentially an amazing free game. It's just...I know it's a warped view, but I almost see spending money in order to get cars/upgrades as akin to cheating - like if I can't earn it for free based on my skill then I don't deserve it. Again, I know that's weird since I've certainly purchased games in the past (though only add-ons when they can't be obtained outside of purchase). I may just not be the ideal demographic for IAP.
Haha too bad. At least I can make some progress now with the seasons. Is the 50k lambo for the S cups the best choice just for the campaign?
Triple nitro is when you do quick 3 tap for nitro Generally, it's better to use perfect nitro for the efficiency, but on some part of few maps (like short road before you need to drift/jump, or there are a lot of nitro can) it's faster to use triple nitro because it cuts down the wait time for perfect nitro It's also useful for the start on some maps, because you can get the first gold nitro and/or knockdown the lead player The Veneno is the first S class car i buy. It's the cheapest one and allow you to play on S class in single player. But, late-game it's underpowered if not upgraded and you should buy better S class car.
Thank you for the warm welcome and also all the tips and advice that you and other frequent posters have shared here over time. Let me start of by saying that I very much enjoy this game, it is by far my favorite handheld racer and I know I will still spend countless hours to come in this great game. Here is the reason why i think that the balance of the game when it comes to tournaments is off, and Gameloft is actually hurting their own business/game as a result. The way I see it the game consist out of 3 sections, 3 different kinds of gameplay to draw in players and keep them playing: single player, multiplayer, and tournaments. The all have different gameplay aspects that make them fun in their own way, they all have different things to offer. I think the single player is great, the balance is good, lots of events, pay outs are fair. It isn't until you get into the very final stage of getting all the stars and needing to buy the really expensive cars for only a few events when things get tough. But it is still fairly balanced. The multiplayer has a few problems of their own, but as a seperate section of the game it functions well. It doesn't matter how many hours or money you have spend, there are races for everyone. But then there are tournaments, where you need to have a long history of the game (and have all the cars upgrades, lots of credits, lots of boosters etc) or spend lots of money/time to make up for that disadvantage. You have 3 ways to maximize your potential player base, but one of them is only accessible for a very select group. The requirements are too high. Like you say, the people who are able to run in the tournaments daily have a long history in the game. A big part of the players and potential players that would be interested in participating in this game mode don't have access to it. It is for an elite group, it is almost like you have to pay your dues, have a history of hundreds of hours in the game or spend a big sum of money/time. The tournaments offer a very different kind of gameplay then the other two modes do, they offer a specific kind of challenge that the other two modes don't have. By having the balance like it is now they miss out on a big group of people that are interested in that aspect of the game but are punished very harshly for not investing heavily in the other two gamemodes. Like you say at the beginning of your post, the tournaments aren't about credits for you, it is about competing for the best possible time on a track. I don't care how many credits I have at all, I want that perfect lap that ranks me up there with the best, I just want a fair chance to compete. Your post supports the point I am trying to get across, mainly that I think tournaments have the potential of being a much bigger draw for the game, if it would be handled as a more separate game element besides multiplayer and single player and not an elite off-limit section that is put on the top section of the pyramid (with the multiplayer and single player forming the "base" of the pyramid). It leans to much on the progression of the other two gamemodes. I don't have my garage completely upgraded and maxed out yet, so for the next few weeks/months/foreseeable future I do have to spend hundreds of thousands of credits every single day/tournament to max out my car, just to start with "equal weapons". Once I have all my cars upgraded, I don't need to spend 200k+ just to participate and I will be able to start gathering credits and also end up with millions. But until that is all done I am starting with a huge disadvantage that punishes me for wanting to do tournaments. And that's not smart business in my opinion
Give you some idea how much time some people have played. I recall that in earlier days, tournaments only happen once or twice per week, and usually need an expensive car to just play. The new tournament is at least make many car potentially more useful than just get a few stars in single player. Depends on your region setting it's not that hard to get the cash reward with a lightly upgraded car. Currently in Android-Canada region, there is less than 30 people willing to rent that F-150 truck, so it's likely everyone played will win the truck no matter how poor they did.
Starting out, yes. It pretty much unlocks the S class car events, its very efficient for a couple of events then you'll need to buy S class ones. Dont upgrade this car, you'll only be wasting money. I definitely agree with you. Because i have a lot of money, tournaments are no factor to me because i have every car maxed out (except 2, Mclaren P1 and Aston Martin Zagato) and i have more than enough money to waste on new car tournaments. If i didnt have a lot of money, i wouldnt play tournaments because its a waste of my time and money. The pay out is mediocre even for new car tournaments. 2000 credits just to finish the race? Thats nothing. The least credit prize should be atleast 10,000 credits (finishing the race should be 5,000). Without double credit boost, i can get around 7,000 points for a win in multiplayer because my level is 85 so anything less is almost pointless, even for me. The only reason i play tournaments is for the competition. And, its all i got since multiplayer is messed up. So thats there is only one part of the pyramid worth playing, tournaments. I used to get a full experience but after the update that went away, since multiplayer was a big part of my enjoyment of the game and the main reason i played it. And you are right, Gameloft is slowly killing their business and fan base. I have never seen a developer switch up on their consumer so fast.
Those were some good points, Stoppi. Thanks for making us see the game through the eyes of someone who hasn't played forever. If you want the tournament experience at a lower cost, I'd suggest friending Turbo 343 and Dark-Zero and racing their ghosts in single player events where you already have a competitive car. Racing those two is as good a benchmark as any international tournament, and it requires the same skills that those tournaments require. Plus, you'll learn a lot about the best routes for each track.
I will be adding in in bold instead of answering all at the end.. This is why we do not care about the credits because we have been through the process you are talking about. That is how we maxed out our cars....however you can compete with out maxing the car....you just will not have the chance at top spots. We all have done this before, do it now time to time, and was part of our process to get to where we are now. We all started with the same disadvantage you are face with now. Now I can see maybe wanting some separate tourney's that require the use of a lower ranked cars, but you will end up with segregation then because then I/we will not be able to run those events since ours are most likely maxed....I am good with that though...ass long as you know that you will not be racing against all of us if that mattered to you. Call it the rookie cup series or something like that maybe. I hope that this is of any help and trust me I do see your points don't get me wrong....I just see it from the seat of an old vet that paid my dues is all .
How about tournament base on car rank, e.g. "Stock 1300 Cup" which only cars from 1260 to 1340 rank at stock level can play, and when you play the car is temporary reset to stock level. It would still encourage newbies to buy cars without needing to spend a lot on upgrades. Alternatively if they can implement what I suggested before and let us temporary downgrade our car, a "1300 Cup" would see all kind of different cars tuned to 133x in the top instead just one highest ranked car all the time.
I definitely understand what you mean. But you have to remember we played when multiplayer wasnt broken. Now a days, the new players dont get any break. No more double credits (which is the main reason i have so much money, never played multi without it), no nitro boost, and only tuning kits. For someone just starting out, nitro boost is expensive. I remember i made a different account a couple months ago and i was struggling to get nitro boosts. Gameloft is making it hard on players, new or vets. If the game was a grind before, now its an extreme grind. Will things get fixed? Probably not considering the only things that get attention are hackers and changes to the game are put off nonchalantly. The only way to get their attention is for a lot of people to stop playing. Right now, we are such a small faction of the overall fan base (people in this thread) that gameloft could careless about what we want if the majority of players still play. I was thinking this exact thing when i was writing my other post to Stoppi. If they gave the ability to downgrade, this would be possible. Otherwise, it would be a problem for people with maxed cars since that is less tournaments they can play in. Im almost for certain they wouldnt temporarily downgrade cars because they would get hardly criticized for not just implementing the ability to downgrade.
Here here....same idea in a way but way better. I would love cups like this. Man it would also add an element of which car ranked 13xx is better. Boy it cold take awhile just find out which car would be "The ONe".... In the end, I still try and see how it is as a business and man at the rate we were able to gain credits and boosters you would never need to spend money in game i think. The car rank adjusting is a great solution because it would give everyone the field as level as possible I guess.
So, apparently this is now the reward for a 9-win streak... A class-D specific upgrade. I get that games need to make money, but I think this might be the final straw for me. - no more double credits - massively mangled MP "update" skewed heavily towards new players at the expense of more experienced players (the elephant in the room that no one from GL will address) - rapidly shrinking tournament rewards - tournaments that require you to have a maxed out car - tournaments with ridiculous rental fees (10k to rent the worst thing in the game ? Sorry guys that truck is beyond awful) - and now, apparently no more nitro or tuning kit rewards for MP win streaks I can only assume that all of this is geared towards encouraging people to actually buy credit packs, and like I said before I get that games of this scale need to make money. But I think what's gotten lost, and is rapidly getting more lost is, the user experience. Or to put it simpler: every change you guys make, makes this game less fun to play. It's really disappointing to see something great and fun go downhill so fast. And pretty short-sided too: I've probably spent somewhere between $40-$50 on this game over the last few months. And to me, it was worth it, because it was... Fun. Enjoyable. But I doubt I'll be spending any more $ on this game. Or to be honest, any other titles from GL either. So really you guys are just losing $ in the long run. Anyhow that's just my 2 cents, from an average player who loves this game and (was) willing to actually spend $ on it.
Wait when did these start being rewarded for win streaks? I last played two days ago and was still earning nitro and tuning kit boosters as well as universal class upgrades. Did these just start this week? btw I'm playing on an iphone 4s.
If they thought that the whole boosts things wasnt going to get them any money, why didnt they just make the game itself cost money? No need to S*** on the consumer for playing the game right. I never was going to buy any IAP from the beginning since i'd rather earn it myself. What i dont understand is if they need money, why dont they make the game cost money? Instead the game is affected by a lack of money. That update has definitely been the worst thing to happen to this game. Those new maps and cars definitely werent worth it. And since hackers are back, the update wasnt worth it either once they comeback in full force. Now whenever i play multi, im constantly trying to dodge hackers and hope i dont get locked in. Doesnt work all the time. Like you said, every new change is slowly making the game boring and pointless to play. Idk, but he is right. I've been getting only D class upgrades, credits, and a tuning kit every once in a while.
