Hacker Ryan here you go...an other one I found on twitch just now. He got up to 800kph but I did not get a screen shot of that
Ya it is not easy... man I did the grind for a bit before I figured how minuet the little odds and ends where to get there and as you can see I barely did at that. Funny thing though.....that run of mine did have time left in it but I have all the rest of mine around 1.25.0 - 1.25.6 man it is all the little things for me that ended up getting it. I would have swore for a little while that I just was not on the route he was on... but I was.... just needed some small teaks and a little bit of luck too.....I think I can see how that guy got into the 23's but I cannot do it to save my life. Once I have the front half right I mess up the back half.. or vice versa.... I also think that run of his had the start of a life time to go with the rest of it Edit: Hats off to Rb and Master... they got it this time for sure
Its like my start is never good enough, once i get to the big jump, im fine. But that first jump (the one where you get the yellow nitro and jump from one side of the cliff to the other) always kills me. I never have enough nitro to hit it.
Congrats! I don't think I'll be able to beat that, unless you give us a step by step of your route. I switched to Worldwide before the tournament started, like some of the regulars in this thread did, so all I can offer you is this: (It's weird how the world series leaderboard displays non-ASCII characters, but the tournament leaderboards don't.) That's interesting — that jump was the best option with the Lykan for me, but with a slower car (and less nitro), I've found that I'm faster when I go left, through the tunnel, then take the barrel roll ramp. What do you guys do on the home stretch, once you're past the bridge? I usually jump on the barrel roll ramp that's at the entrance of the middle road, but then I'm torn between either following that road to the little kart that's parked near the finish or just going in a straight line to the yellow nitro can. The latter includes a little jump, but it might still be faster. And yes, I wonder if all that's left to improve is knocking down more than three cars at the start without slowing down too much. Sometimes I wish these tournaments didn't have other cars and their random behavior.
Nice to read all those fancy details about your driving and fighting for milliseconds. But we found out something interesting (sorry no better news for now): Bump: If this is an error it may affect all other tournaments and events! Would love to hear a word about that by Gameloft. Bump #2: Can you imagine how efficient all those discussions about track and car details would be if everyone easily could demonstrate the facts with short video clips?! This would be a GREAT feature for A9… (With exact records of player's input—where and when he/she taps and tilts. With splitscreen/switch screen in mp races. With comments and remarks. With automatic data flow about used cars and upgrades.) AND it would be a perfect measure against hackers (a video is alway the best prove). No video—no qualification (tl events, special highscores in online mp). There could be a simple dialog like this after a race: "You made a very high score (or something special like 14 barrel rolls at once or a trip into the space—seen for the second time yesterday btw) in this event. Do you want to keep/upload a video/data stream for being qualified in global ranking lists?" We don't faith in the milliseconds any more in Asphalt. For the time being—until Gameloft reps do or say something. (See above.) We are lucky enough to have some real life racers (moto) in our local multiplayer rounds sometimes. And they are saying that Asphalt 8 is the only video game where the factors risk and gauging situations is as exciting as the real thing (but you don't risk your life or a lot of money when you wreck the vehicle). Although the action racer is rather fantasy sometimes—the accurate and perfect physics simulation of the unreal sublimes and absorbs all of that. The most real unreal racing feeling! Approved by profs! We hear that the whole Asphalt dev team cares about online multiplayer only (matching players, catching hackers, creating time-limited events for U.S. folks only…) but it would be GREAT if they would even care a tiny bit about local multiplayer and the mentioned milliseconds error (which spoils a lot of fun for us right now). Our modest wishlist (after having payed the full price of €0.89 for A8): We need time records, score lists, intermediate times, a quick rewind (train certain track sequences) feature, complete maps of tracks, famous vintage (classic) cars instead of stinky Clios, player slots, special (and freely editable) local multiplayer tournaments and challenges, and so much more. Give some credit rewards (game money of course) to make local multiplayer more popular! (Did you know already that you can drive the first car of all classes for free in local multiplayer?! But there is much more needed to tease this BEST—by far—racing mode in Asphalt 8. (Please read my previous postings in this very thread for some details. LOCAL MP: Absolute FAIR. No cheaters. Ready in twenty seconds. No cables. No monitors. No additional hardware. A trippy and very mobile groundf(l)ight on the sofa. Flying iPads! EVERYBODY should try out local multiplayer mode as soon as possible. Sync Game Center accounts for equal equipment, cars, upgrades. Did I say it already? Absolutely fair conditions. Fairer than the real thing. A8 runs exactly 5.5 hrs on any iOS device with one full battery charge.) Please. Please. Please. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. El favor. El favor. El favor. Gracias. Gracias. Gracias. (Btw open urgently a coffee shop in Barcelona where people can play A8 local mp on provided iPads. Tell Apple reps about local multiplayer. In the next keynote I wanna see Mr. Cook and his squadron playing A9.) Playing on iPad 4, iPad 3 and iPad Air: No problems. Not as perfect as the other tracks maybe (sometimes 30-50 fps instead of solid 60 fps even on iPad Air) but very good playable. China is a fabulous track! Best level design ever! As said before: Gameloft NEVER added tracks to previous Asphalt series games (only cars and—for the first time as well—reversed tracks in A8). And finally London Reverse with some variants in mp mode. Great! Thx! Still the most played game here. For some local racing fanatics here Asphalt has the best track design. It's clearly the strength of the series. Note the details: Always new types of… well: Asphalt (you can even HEAR it). PLEASE CARE ABOUT THE MILLISECONDS BUG!!! It's a really nasty one.
Ok, but im not going to explain you the whole route until the end of the tournament, cause there are some italians reading here Thank you ! Guys, ur taking the wrong way. And i never jump in this map (with this car) until im close to the finish.
Sounds about right. Challenger is certainly not a car that can efficiently compensate for the air time with the nitro gain. But the track makes you go on air. How to deal with that? By the way I now understand why ghost racing is so addictive. I'm having a blast beating some of Rip's old ghosts.
Master Master..... I told my self I was done with it last night but after reading your small snippet and one from RB......I now have to have an other go later on... .Because I am doing this far different than you and he....I feel if I could put it all together (my way) with no errors I could reach 1.23's high of course.... So very interesting....If I can incorporate both maybe it is not that hard after all? Or maybe I am wrong too...My 1.24 has 4 jumps in it, including the slow one we are talking about done with out nitro in place
That's what I like most about the Chinese tracks. There are often a couple of alternatives that are equally good, give or take a few irrelevant milliseconds. That would make multiplayer much more interesting, if only... Anyway, if you make it into the 1:23s, let us know how! I'm also happy to share any detail about my run that may not be obvious yet.
I could not agree more RB.... I was thinking the same thing while heading to my job site this morning. It is so cool that so many different versions of a course can yeild times so similar. I wonder if they took that into concideration? I have done the front half your way and it is nearly identical to mine using the small tunnel with the little red car as a spit time area. I do think if I can take yours perfectly it will yeild a slight advantage.... and to read Masters take just flat blew me away I too am happy to share.... we are all fast so for me it does not matter who is actually on the top, as long as we put a Toucharcadia member there I am all for it
Near the end, did you get the third bottle in the ditch or get the first two and duck behind the maroon bus? And from there, did you hit that barrel roll jump behind the trees and triple nitro to the end?
So at the start, are you taking the top road and then jumping down to the lower road right at the apex of the lower road and going on from there?
I got all three on that run....I always try to but miss thte first one every so often.... these new maps seem to require you to be pretty spot on to grab them vs the old that you just needed to be closee to them. I jump 2 jumps to the finish..... right at the three way intersection and the left one on the middle route hidden in the buildings and fireworks bucket... triple nitro to finish. I am not sure this iis the ticket though for a deep 24 but it did get me what I have.
Yes, but I do take those very low in angle... it is a really fast rotation and I lose little speed... but on the other side the risk is very high of a crash....
