I tried to do some multiplayer today and I lost nearly 100 points thx to this update. Gameloft, pls fix the new multiplayer system and try to pair everyone with nearly the same ranking
Please tell me there is ao way to turn off that turn auto match thing for this game. Seeing that notification in Game Center is driving me nuts. I know I can remove the badge but any way to stop it from happening at all?
I know that feel, man . . . Today is the first time i try the new mp, because i've leftover boost from tournament. It takes all i got to not lose point, but i lose a lot anyway. And for some reason, most of the time i'm the player with lowest car rank (up to 80 point difference with the highest). If this is GL idea to spread out high rank player point to lower one, then i'm a bit dissapointed. Sorry if i complaint too much
Survolt racing: How to survive? Are boosts required? And is it better to upgrade the 599XX to where it can fight and win against the Survolts or upgrade it to beyond their reach?
Amen. Was working Challenger tourney and it would just wreck going straight. Seemed like it happened in about three or four passes and then it stopped happening like the frame rate issue. Dipped in the 1:25s, but finding that next 1.5 or seconds is rough. Is anybody taking one of the two jumps leading up the hill?
Could not tell you about the event...I just ran it till I felt my time would hold for the top 250 and called it done.... On the car unloading for no reason thing.....A gameloft rep told me while I was in a Twitch stream room, it has something to do with the relationship of how quickly the car is moving through the map as to why it does it...So seems to me they could change that I would guess. It is far worse in the faster cars.....makes it so hard to run a complete lap without self-destructing. Adds to the difficulty of chasing top times and in MP well that is a loss for sure, and one that you had no fault in makes it that much harder to stomach. I used to think that it had something to do with boosters in fast cars but last night a non boosted Lykan just keep dyeing on me time and time again when pushing it hard.
There's no real way of stopping it. Other than the turning off badges of course. I've asked about it before and it seems related to something between the cloud sync and multiplayer element. It comes up for me in both GT R 2 and in this one. I think, though I'm not 100% sure, that it is more related to your gamecenter being used as your profile signifier for the cloud save and the method it uses to pull the profile. I just turned off notifications for gamecenter basically but that's about it. @turbo. Its related to the physics engine as well (in relation to your crash/wipeout point). Some combination of the physics engine and collision detection combined with the speed is ultimately what is causing it. It'd be a tough one to counter because it would mean toning down either the physics detection or the collision detection points which would have a game wide effect so I dunno how that one would turn out.
Hu...bummer....he did tell me that they would look into it. For some reason it is worse with in the new maps. Maybe that has something to do with how complex they are? I never had it happen before in the old maps when not boosted? But in these news ones it happens sometimes three times per lap? I heard that Ricky....However I do agree and hold the same stance...I rarely can stick to it for long It gets the better part of me. So it may take me longer to over turn a few ghost than before....if I am able to that is. Have a great day folks
Here is my current understanding of how these country-specific tournaments work: Larger markets (the US, Italy, and Germany have been mentioned in this thread) have their own leaderboards, while other countries are lumped into the Worldwide leaderboards. That's why those of us who have switched to Worldwide see people from some countries in the leaderboard, but not all of them. If my theory is correct, then I'm afraid there's currently no way to get a Portugal-only leaderboard.
Thanks, 343, it's just so random. Also happens when you dip in the dirt ditch sometimes to grab the three blues. And it happened heading into a ramp, or landing and hitting nitro at the same time.
The best way I have found to combat it is.....when landing off a jump I need to wait about .5 before I nitro.... When landing in the dirt burm, I need to be dead center or shade high (and even that does not always work) and again wait about .5 before nitro. Lastly when on the hill with the barrel jumps, I need to be careful how quickly I boost the car after landing that jump. All that has got to be adding up a second or more lost, sucks....but such is life I suppose
Thanks Running Bird! You're probably right, since I only saw a handfull of players from Portugal and would be very easy to always achieve the Top 250.
Thanks, I'm on the same page, same findings. It's wild how we try to find milliseconds, but it's all good fun. As an aside, I thought actual racers might enjoy this game. I asked a handful of NASCAR drivers (I work in racing) but none of them play Asphalt8. Come on!
My hunch is that the main cause for these crashes is that we're basically crashing into counterslopes. That dirt ditch you mentioned is a great example: If you drop down too late, you touch ground at an angle that the car can't handle. It's like a ski jumper jumping too far and trying to land on the counterslope of the jump the landing impact is just too high. Personally, I think this even applies to those cases where your car seems to combust spontaneously while racing on a more or less even surface. There are bumps in those surfaces, and if your car is fast enough, each of those bumps acts as a tiny ramp. So you go airborne, and when you land, the next bump sometimes serves as that fatal counterslope.
Oh man that is kinda surprising that they dont....and if that is the field you work in I am envious sir How nice would that be too hu....Ya I OWN Jimmy Johnson and company in Asphalt 8....LMAO...
Sure could be right there. I know it is just about impossible to see the minor differences in these landing area run vs run....but it does seem that I have runs landing in the same spot and gone on one and fine on the next?
Even if you landed in the same spot, your flight trajectory could still be different, which would result in a different angle. At any rate, I'm actually glad in a way that this is a wider-spread phenomenon now. I used to have my 370Z explode in Nevada forward and lose tons of multiplayer matches because of it, and I thought I was going crazy.
I hear you.... well you are not crazy of course.... It happened to me the most on the original tracks in Alps forward. After the barrel off the big hill, and when nitro is shut off over the knob...hitting nitro right as you land would blow me every time in S class but no others...As well as London hitting the barrel jump in the middle of the run again good ol S class though and not others.....Maybe Sesto too come to think of it??? Nevada would throw me crazy off the drop right after the S turns and land on my lid most of the time....again in the lottery cars and boosters only. I got to watch your ghost run off into the distance many times while inverted before I hit the ground here.....
