Well, after an extremely busy weekend, I finally got to dive into the update tonight. My excitement was dashed pretty quickly. First I got the news on the absurd new MP setup. Wow, what were they thinking? Or better yet, were they thinking? Certainly doesn't appear so. Just awful. It's a complete waste of time to even play MP now. The S class cars aren't fun, those races are nothing but a crapshoot. I guess I'm a little optimistic that GL is listening to the complaints and claim they will do something about it, but who knows how long that will take, or if their ideas for a fix will be any better? So, MP is ruined for the foreseeable future. Great. Onto the new content. The tracks look awesome. The scenery is spectacular and the designs are both challenging and exciting. Unfortunately, I'm having the same frame rate issues (iPad4, iOS7.1) as many others are apparently, and the new tracks are virtually unplayable even with slower cars because of how choppy everything is. I've tried hard resetting, I've tried force closing, I've tried running the tracks over and over again to get them to "settle in." Nothing has helped even a little bit. The old tracks still play great for me. It's only the new ones that are tainted. The new cars. Nice tease. Why start advertising them if none of them are going to be available with the update? Makes no sense. Advertising the new tracks/events would've been more than enough to get everyone excited for the update. So, overall this update did nothing positive for me, and actually took the game a step back because MP is ruined for now. Hopefully GL will solve some of these issues sooner than later, but for now, I'm putting A8 on the back burner. What a massive disappointment.
I think this guy might be one of our hacker friends. (#1 in the attached screenshot) Pretty much the whole race his car was blinking, disappearing, showing up way ahead of me, then a second later way behind me. Flying (literally) all over the map, into buildings. At one point he actually came flying past me driving the opposite way. Which actually gave me a chuckle. That was a new one.
Yeah, thats what i was running a couple days ago. I refuse to run it again so i wont try that again, its like a lottery still. I dont even want to know if there are hackers. Trust me, the only viable car to use right now is the Survolt.
Great job! hopefully that last till the end and you win the car, because you're one of the best player i know mind sharing few tips?
I just missed it, gotta have balls of steel to stream while hacking. Really dumb idea, did you write down his name so you can report him? Yeah, it's a muscle car and it's not upgraded. Should be expected
Ugh, I don't think I'm going to spend boosters on this thing. But it sure is good to see everyone on the leaderboard again! There's just one caveat: If your primary goal is to get as many rewards as possible (e.g., because you need credits to buy and upgrade cars), the "Worldwide" setting might not be a good idea for you. It looks like this leaderboard doesn't just include those with the same country setting, it includes everyone, which makes getting the top leaderboard awards a lot more difficult.
I really want this Challenger, reminds me of Dom's challenger from Fast and Furious. Yeah, most should know that, its very important. If anyone is struggling, it would be best to switch to one of the lesser known countries for the next events.
Speaking of tournament leaderboards, though, one of my favorite changes in Asphalt 8 1.3 is that we can now look at leaderboards for past tournaments. So now we can see where we ended up when all is said and done, and we can finally witness the weeding out of cheaters after a given tournament ends. That's an excellent improvement — thank you, Gameloft! For the tournament that just ended, both my leaderboard position and the reward were country-specific. (I don't think my time would have made the worldwide top 50.)
So couldn't players just pick a random small country and make it very easy to get the rewards every tournament?
Alright, alright, alright! 1:25:615 I'm not even sure if the top few times are legit, but I've got the 7th best time in the United States at the moment. It wasn't even a perfect run.
Hey guys, I was wondering if I can get some advice ? I have been playing A8 for some time now and although I am pretty good I am no where near the level of some of you. My dodge time is around 1.29 with both booster which I thought was decent with room to improve however some of you are beating this by almost 5 sec +. Therefore can some of you explain, what improves timings: Is catching air good ? Or should it be avoided ? - In certain tracks I have improved times by avoiding ramps as air time slows you down, however does the gained nitro out weight this ? Should you always look for paths with many bottles although it may be longer or do you stick to the shortest route? Should you drift or avoid where possible as it takes the edge of the speed - the gained nitro from drifting is dismissible unless prolonged. Are there any tips you can share for me to advance my skills and improve my times? Much appreciate any comments....cheers guys !!!
