Came here to notify GL people about that. Multiplayer rooms have been giving errors since the update but today... I've been restarting the app, checking my internet connection, to no avail. I can't connect to rooms, even if I can, it times out and kicks me.
Server side updates are most likely the cause for that. Probably updates to algorithms in relation to the multiplayer matchmaking issues that people have been mentioning. Probably only the first step of it as it will be ongoing tweaking.
Ryan and Luis, I thought of yet another way to explain why calculating car rank handicaps from world series rank differences is a bad idea. The following happened to me earlier today while exploring the new multiplayer matching algorithm with my secondary account, and I've had similar experiences throughout the last two days. I bet Dark-Zero has similar stories to share as well. Imagine a race with the following participants: - Me in a B class car, 1550 world series points (down from 1600 yesterday ) - Three guys in A class cars (car rank: mine + 50), between 1200 and 1400 world series points - One guy in a maxed-out S class car (car rank: mine + 150), 800 world series points I go into the race knowing that I can beat the A class guys, because I've done so in the previous couple of races. But 800 points guy in his supercar starts behind me, and he knocks me out as soon as the race starts. Then he crashes into a wall, which puts him behind me again. We're now 100 meters from the start, and blammo, he knocks me out a second time. I spend the rest of the race trying to catch up to the three mediocre A class cars, and I almost make it, but not quite. Here's the result: - Me: -14 points - A class guys: somewhere between +6 and +10 points - S class loser: -10 points, because he left the race (So he'll be even more toxic next time!) Tell me again how this emphasizes skill? I think the problem here is that in sports where handicaps are common (e.g., golf), you don't usually have this kind of three-way interaction. A really bad player can't influence the competition between better players. And while there are real-world racing series that use handicaps as well (e.g., this one), there's a minor difference: They don't have knockdowns. So stop that, please. Do what I did: Create a new account to experiment until they fix this mess.
Did you make an other GC account and were able to keep all the stuff you had or......sorry I am actually up for this now but what did you do? Or just start all over?
I started all over with a different Game Center ID. In the beginning, I mainly used a cheap Survolt in multiplayer. Back when multiplayer matching wasn't broken yet, that was a good way to win credits, boosters, and upgrades via win streaks, so I could soon afford other cars and upgrade them as well.
Okay makes sense...then Edit: I just realized I will need an other device for that So I won't be going down that road
Not necessarily. I'm paranoid with regard to synchronization stuff, but Gameloft does save your data on their (or iClound's) servers, so it should be possible to go back and forth in theory. Maybe Habakuk can tell us about his experiences with switching accounts on devices? (I understand that's how they set up their local multiplayer races.)
JUst was checking in on Twitch and see there is a guy on there named MYJiang that has a very high credit count and level 85 that just cannot connect in multi player....Bummer to, would like to see him run Edit: saw him run finally, but man it is taking forever for him to connect in multi.... Note thought he ran a maxed Lykan and seemed to be matched with peps not of his skill..... he ran away fairly easy....and he is not the fastest guy by any stretch that I have seen. Although he is fast.....I wish he would have left the finish screen on longer so I could see what the other drivers were in rating and what cars they were in...
That's a great time — congrats! I stopped trying after I got to 0:59:7xx. Somehow, trying again and again and again to get the angle just right while jumping around a corner in a tunnel gets old fast. (Sour grapes, I know. )

I didnt understand where exactly that is. By tunnel do you mean the wooden structure in the very beginning?
Maybe we are talking about two different areas.... Are you in the event or the season track? If event then...the first split you come to is what I am talking about?
It's very easy: Close Asphalt completely, even in the multitasking area. Launch device's settings, Game Center entry. Switch account there (or create a new one with a different email address). Launch Asphalt. There will be a question which scores you want to keep/dismiss. You can make use of this like the player register/slots in good ol’ DOS days. Works perfectly. No online multiplayer today since some hours. Seems to be kaputt. No connection. No events. Played local multiplayer with three devices for two hours right now. Works perfect as before. The other (old) events are completely unchanged. And, Gameloft, what's that for a crappy car? (That never happened to me before.) We want muscle cars, hyper cars, super cars. And not a Clio. Thanks. Thanks for the response... for me (and I must be not getting it) If I close out Asphalt totally.. no problem... open game center and I have no options for a new account or anything of that nature? No menu to sign in or anything...where do I find that or go about making anew account

Cool . . . But, why do the leaderboard seem different in my iphone? Are you playing in android? And the no.1 in my device now is BolsterEater with maxed + boosted ferarri 599xx and time 00:55:727, is it just me or this feels like cheat?
